Rod was an amazing sidecar tour driver and made sure we had a truly memorable experience. At first, we were a little disappointed because the advertisement was a bit misleading, with pictures showing tours riding between vineyards. In reality, the tour takes place in downtown Santa Barbara and includes visits to a couple of wine tasting rooms. However, Rod completely turned the experience around for us. He was committed to making sure we had a great time and even gave us the option to either visit another wine tasting room or enjoy more of the sidecar experience with a scenic drive. My friend and I are always up for an adventure, so we chose the scenic ride—and we’re so glad we did! Rod was a fantastic driver, very personable, and made the entire experience extra fun. His energy and friendliness really made the tour special. Next time we’re in Santa Barbara, we will definitely book another tour with him. It was such a blast!

Our driver was wonderful, very sweet and willing to take pictures of us 5/5 stars for him! He was a bit speedy but nothing we couldn’t handle! So hang on! The only complaint I have is that on the Viator listing, it says that the wine car tour includes alcoholic beverages, and that wine tastings are provided for each individual, which felt very misleading because they gave the impression that the money we paid for the sidecar trip would include the tastings. For two people it was $330 plus another $240 for two wineries. We found out we had to pay at each winery after we had already ordered. To be fair I should have assumed that we would have to pay each one however the listing made it seem like it was all inclusive. My partner and I felt like this information was not clearly given to us so this part gets a 1/5 for a misleading listing.

Fun but not what advertised. No winery just tasting rooms in town.

The side car drive is fun! And our driver was very nice and friendly. Disappointing that there was no winery tour just 2 tasting rooms in town and a drive to a lookout point for pictures. Not what the descriptions says. Apparently the winery where they do the tour was closed for the holiday, but they should have told us when we booked. Overall we had fun but the description is misleading. Also at the first tasting they said it was not included and we had to pay, then I showed them the ticket and they agree to honor and pay for the tasting. Without the tasting included the price is too high for just a drive of 15/20 minutes in town. And 2.5 hours would not have been enough for all that is described in the ticket. Pictures of the sidecar driving through a wine yard is misleading. Not what they offer. We would do it again if it matched the description online.

What a fun ride through the hills of Santa Barbara! Rod took us all over and hit some scenery spots that were on our bucket list. Wine is not included but the wineries we were taken to were enjoyable with fantastic ambience.

Our driver, Rod, was awesome. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and wanted to know what we wanted from the experience. We stopped at two wineries, not 3 as stated on Viator app. Jamie Slone is a small but highly recommended tasting room. The owner's wife was funny and genuine, and they offered a small yet tasty menu if you are hungry. We drove around and up to the hills which offered great photo ops. The reason I gave a 4 was there was a miscommunication between the company and Viator which stated 3 wineries with tasting fees included. This was not the case and had to pay for the tastings. However, our driver and the side car company made it right and offered compensation for this. Just be aware, if booking on Viator, the details listed are not correct- only 2 wineries and tastings are not included. I would do it again, but directly through the company.

The tour was very disappointing since it was not what it was described to be. You will NOT be riding through the vines as was stated in the listing, the tour is strictly inside the city. You will NOT go to 3 wine rooms as was stated in the listing. I would not take this tour or any affiliated tours through this company again.

What a waste of a company! I received a confirmation the day before our outing but the next day no one showed up at the pick up location. While waiting for them to show up I called their number and no one answered. I sent 2 emails and today 2 days after the failed event they have not responded and I see that they have accepted payment from my credit card. I’m disputing the charge of 330. Don’t trust this company- they should have at least let us know they couldn’t honor our appt. In addition, another couple was waiting at the pick up location- their appt was 30 mins before ours. They waited an hour and then left since no one showed for them or us.

SCAM& HOAX

We showed up at 3:45…. Waited for the sidecars to show up. They came at 4:10… they told us they never start their tours at 4pm, that the company we purchased thrift doesn’t exist, and we got screwed and scammed. I called and reported, still haven’t heard back. I planned our entire evening around this adventure and we were told it was a hoax. The bike drivers said they are outta inland empire and came here only for a special bachelor party and usually don’t show up here, random coincidence. I called the owner of the sidecar company kept going to voicemail, then it said it was after hours… my wife and I ended going back to our hotel as by the time we got this all figured out everything was closed. I am so beyond disappointed and frustrated…. I’m about to go online and make everyone never use Viator and sidecar tours or whatever the hell this is…. You’re truly

Amazing experience. We loved the 2 wineries, our driver, Fred was great, the whole experience was so fun. It’s a great way to see Santa Barbara if you haven’t been up in the hills. There are phenomenal views of the hills out to the ocean. It is a bit fast coming down the hill I must say and we felt a bit rushed at the second winery. The last winery (where you start) wasn’t included so we only had two wineries. I would recommend figuring this part out ahead of time, as the ad implies three wineries, we are asking for a refund. With all that said, I would do this experience again in a heartbeat. it was such a fun way to see Santa Barbara and get driven around after a few wine tastings.

A huge disappointment

We were really looking forward to this trip and changed our plans so we could stay on an extra day to do it (we are travelling from the UK) as there was no availability the two days beforehand. But the trip was cancelled on us less than 2hrs before, due to driver illness. Then wasted an hour hanging on while they tried to sort something out but without success. A huge disappointment. Anyone booking this trip should be aware of the risk of cancellation as they obviously have no back up. Three days later we are still waiting for the full refund we were promised.

15th Anniversary Celebration

We celebrated our 15-year anniversary and this was a great way to see a lot of the city and taste some good wines too. Highlights were Franceschi Park, Butterlfy Beach, and Jamie Slone Winery. Our original appointment was quickly rescheduled due to a freak weather issue and they accommodated the switch without me even prompting them. The only negative was when I originally signed up, it listed Carr, Jamie Slone, and Pali wineries but we only went to Jamie Sloan and Fox Wine. I thought it also said lunch was provided but later found out that it wasn’t. We would still do it again if for nothing more than the experience and sites that we were able to see. We recommend doing it early in your trip in case it changes what you do with the rest of your time, like us. We plan on spending a day at Butterfly Beach as a result.

Fun but not as advertised

Robert was a great guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a fun experience and we stopped at several sightseeing spots in SB. Be warned that you will go to two wineries not three and only one was correctly listed in the details (Jamie Sloan). So you aren’t really getting the value you may expect. Keep that in mind when deciding if this right for you.
