Papal Audience

Melissa_G, Nov 2025
It is a very overwhelming experience but totally worth it! However we were let go to enter the Vatican with very little instruction and got confused on where to go. Although I still saw the Pope and had a great experience , we found out later we could have actually had a seat. When we asked the guide she made an excuse as to why she didn’t tell us. But had we known to look for that particular section we would have done so. Again excellent experience but wished I had gotten what I paid for (the seat).

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re very glad to hear that attending the Papal Audience was such a meaningful and worthwhile moment for you, and that you were able to see the Pope and enjoy the experience overall. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the lack of clear instructions regarding access and seating. We understand how disappointing it must have been to learn afterward that seating was available and that this information was not communicated clearly at the time. Your feedback is very important to us, and we will use it to improve our coordination and communication so that future guests can fully enjoy all aspects of the experience they have booked. Thank you again for your honest feedback, and we truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in Rome for an even smoother and more complete experience. Warm regards, The Tour Team

A lot to take in

Robert_B, Jul 2025
I booked this as part of a papal audience but the Pope canceled all audiences in July . Otherwise I would have booked a smaller group. We did get to skip the line to go in which was great. Really great. But, this time of day, the Vatican Museum is extremely packed with visitors and tour groups. Our guide Gabriel was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. But there was not the space or time to hear him -and appreciate the art and history he was describing. We were just on the move with the crowd most of the time. And it was hard to keep a group of about 20 together. Everything was rushed. With the heat and all of the people it was uncomfortable . We did get to see all the museum highlights. And I loved the unlimited time in the Sistine chapel. I am glad we visited, but I would recommend either earlier than 9 am if there is opportunity, or else after 2 pm. It is less crowded.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Dear Mr. or Mrs ?, We understand your disappointment with the experience and sincerely regret that your visit didn't meet your expectations. However, we'd like to highlight a few points. It's true that the Pope canceled audiences in July, but we assure you that WE HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE PONTIFF'S DECISIONS. As much as we'd love to, our power doesn't yet extend to influencing His Holiness's schedule. If we could, we would certainly have negotiated an exclusive appointment for you, perhaps with angelic choirs and a red carpet just for your arrival! We're glad you SKIPPED THE LINE – no small advantage, especially in a place like the Vatican Museums! And we're happy that our guide, Gabriel, proved to be EXCELLENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. We always strive to offer the best in terms of preparation and professionalism. As for the crowd not allowing you to fully appreciate him, well... the Vatican Museums are a place of immense interest, and UNFORTUNATELY, WE CANNOT MOVE THE SISTINE CHAPEL to a quieter location just for the occasion. Also, even if your group had been smaller, it WOULD NOT HAVE DECREASED THE OVERALL NUMBER OF VISITORS in the museum, only increased the price per person for a more exclusive experience. We understand that the heat and the crowds might have made the experience less comfortable, but as you may have noticed, ROME IN JULY IS HOT, and places of interest are ALWAYS VERY BUSY. Your observations about less crowded times are valuable, and we'll keep them in mind for future advice to our clients, although this is also difficult advice to implement for everyone, given that WE CANNOT SET A TOURIST CURFEW at the Vatican Museums. We hope, however, that despite the "papal" unforeseen circumstances, the masterpieces you admired left a positive impression. Thank you for your feedback, which always helps us to improve... even if for the organization of papal audiences, WE BELIEVE IT'S BEST YOU SPEAK DIRECTLY WITH THE BOSS, not with us! Kind regards, The Agency Team

WARNING: Fraudulent dishonest company and purposely inaccurate description of Tours

Lisa_S, Jul 2025
The female tour guide that took us through the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapelwas very informative. The problem is not with her, but rather with the tour company and Viator. I will likely never use this company again and I will make sure that I tell everyone that I work with in the travel agency to never use them again. I talk with thousands of customers every year and I will make sure none of them book with this company because of their dishonesty and their failure to provide an accurate description of the tour and a fair refund when they could not fulfill the full description of the tour. I have screenshots of everything, yet they lied and they manipulated and they twisted things and they denied things even though I had screenshots of the description of the tour that I booked. They decided to do a bait and switch at the last minute and tell me that priority entry to Saint Peter’s Priscilla Carr was not included, even though the description of the Tours clearly stated that we would get priority access after the Vatican and Sistine chapel. I went back-and-forth with two incompetent and dishonest agents, one at the Tours company and one at Viator. Even though I provided them the screenshots showing that I was supposed to get priority access to Saint Peters’ Basilica they continue to say the description does not say that. I continue to send them the same description highlighting what was promised yet shockingly and incredibly they continue to act like they were blind. We came 6000 miles to go into Saint Peter’s Basilica, and we did not get to go to the Basilica. When we went outside, there was a line thousands of people long in hot weather, With my disability, we would never be able to wait two hours in line. This is why the priority access was very important to me and the only option to enter.. so we did not get to see St. Peter’s . Refund about $13 a person even though we spent hundreds of dollars on the tour. The only thing that was supposed to be excluded was the Papal visit at 7:30 AM, since the Pope was on vacation. Go with the company that is so dishonest and does not give you a proper refund my name is a big mistake and did not go with the company that lies and causes severe stress, especially with disabled people.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Dear Lisa Sadowski, We want to clarify a few important points regarding your booking and experience. As clearly stated in the tour description, the Vatican reserves the right to change access rules and schedules at any time, often without prior notice. These changes are entirely outside our control, and our agency cannot be held responsible for last-minute decisions made by Vatican authorities. At the time of booking, you did not inform us of any disability or mobility issue, as required by our terms. This is essential for us to provide proper assistance or offer alternative solutions. The Papal Audience was cancelled at the last minute by the Pope himself, and we immediately issued a full refund. We also refunded, even if we were not responsible, you again when the Vatican announced, just days before your visit, that entry to St. Peter’s Basilica would require paid reservations. This change was clearly beyond our control. Also, we would like to remind you that the visit to the Basilica was not included in your tour. This was listed under the “What’s Not Included” section and was repeatedly confirmed to you by our team in response to your inquiries. You were helped both before and during your visit, with our staff responding to all your messages and providing on-site support, despite the challenges caused by sudden institutional changes. Despite our transparency and flexibility, and despite having issued two separate refunds, your comment included offensive and defamatory language. Please be advised that your message has been forwarded to our legal department, which is now reviewing the case and will consider appropriate legal action if necessary. We believe in respectful communication and will always defend the rights of our team and our clients when necessary. Sincerely, Vatican Guided Tour Team

As a catholic being present for the papal audience was the highlight of my time here in Rome. It was emotional for me and had a light to give thanks and praise for and needed this connection. It did not disappoint.

Misleading but like the skip-the-line access to the Vatican Museum

Kim_F, Apr 2024
While we were fortunate enough to see the Pope upclose, we did it ourselves without guidance or a tourguide to let us know which seats. They led us 1 street before the entrance and pointed us on where the security line is. Second, the tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel were fantastic! However, our guide didn’t guide us to the Basilica. We were left before entering the Sistine Chapel. This tour is very misleading.

Elisa_C, Dec 2023
I loved our guide Dora. She had a quite acknowledge of the place and was very open to our questions. She was kind enough to wait a family of 6 take their photos and eternize their moment I think I wouldn’t do a guide into Vatican Museum unless ir was a Vatican official guide
