This was a great tour especially for summer to beat the heat. The Collesium at night is so pretty, down in the underground is very special and gives a perspective of the gladiators as they were about to come up to battle, very cool... The guide was great, very knowledgeable.

Awful experience - Exotic Rome was unprofessional and disorganized throughout. Our original booking was cancelled and refunded last minute. We were able to rebook to a different day - we came to the meeting point at the appropriate time, but they would not allow our family on the tour and did not refund our money for the second booking. Please save your money and trouble and avoid this company.

We never got a tour. We reserved weeks in advance. They cancelled with short notice. They tried to call, but we had spotty reception in Rome. The Wifi worked, but there was no email of the cancellation. He insisted, and I showed him my inbox that had dozens of other more recent emails, but none from them. He finally admitted there was not an email, but that they called. He said he tried 4 times, then showed us the missed call to someone else with 3 attempts. (Not 4). Under it was my number with one missed call to me. I showed him that my number was the one with one call. He said again that he tried to call at least four times. His screen was still up, so that was not true. We were terribly disappointed. We had waited at the meeting point almost an hour early and spent that time snapping some pictures since it was a bit early to check in. When we checked in with the guide, still early, he said we had to wait a minute. He started looking things up and called someone. After all that, he looked at his watch, (STILL 12 minutes early) and said it was too late, and that if we were there earlier he could have helped us. This frustrated our family since we were there early, but he did not try to find us, and we didn't know or we would have found him. We were literally less than 100 yards at any given time (most of the time closer) for over an hour because we were very excited for our tour. It was just really disappointing customer service. In addition, he kept trying to blame us somehow for their mistake. It was an overbooking mistake that they could have called about weeks before but waited until less than 24 hours ahead and never emailed. They said they would refund us. We will see. If you actually want to take the tour you book, try a different company. ExoticRome is definitely not the best choice. We did a Vatican tour with another place the next day and it was seamless! Not all tour companies are created equal. This one can take the reservation; they just can't keep the reservation.

Your tour was started 20 minutes early and we sent you at least 2 email about that. One email wast sent on 28 December and another one on 30 December. We can show the proof. Here no option to attach screenshots that’s why we can not attach here but if you want we can send you via Viator email system.

I give this experience 3 stars instead of 5 only because the meeting place and booking meet-up person were very bad. These tickets from this and other booking companies are basically the same tickets as you would buy from the colosseum official website but with skip-the-line privileges. Our vacation was short notice so all tickets from the colosseum website were sold out, which is why we bought the tour through Viator. Luckily, the terrible booking company meet-up guy just dropped us off at the colosseum line and from there an official colosseum tour guide gave us a fantastic tour. Seeing the colosseum underground was awesome, and our guide truly was amazing, supplementing his information with drama and emotion. So, I do highly recommend the underground tour but book through the official colosseum website if you can.

Being underground and on the arena floor in the Colosseum at night was amazing! Our guide was an excellent storyteller and was very knowledgeable. And the site is much less busy at night, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. I definitely recommend seeing the Colosseum this way.
My main complaint was the Viator portion (the actually tour was given by a colosseum guide). We booked for 6:30 pm. The day before, we got a message saying that the time was changed to 6:10 and to arrive by 6:00. When we arrived at 5:55, we got yelled at for holding up the group because they had mistakenly listed us as part of the 5:45 tour.

Enjoyed both the access to the arena lower level and the professional knowledgeable tour guide. Finding the pick up location was a bit troublesome because the map “directions” feature placed the pick up directly in front of the coliseum. Luckily, the description “near GREEN kiosk” helped much. Cost was a bit high in my opinion. Recommend shopping around to ensure best value.

Overall it was a good and unique experience once the tour started. The Colosseum comes alive at night. Slightly confusing at the start being rushed around by multiple tour companies.
Guide rushed through a lot of things in each area so was hard to follow what was going on at times.
More suited to someone who has never been to colosseum before or has done it by day without a guide.

This nighttime tour of the colosseum was so fun! there were multiple groups in the colosseum at a time but the tour guides were very well organized and we never ran into other groups or waited in long lines like you can during the tours that take place during the day.
The tour start with a virtual reality movie in the piazza before entering the colosseum, which we didn't realize until we were there. It was a strange place to stand with the VR headsets on (the piazza is very loud and crowded, even at night), but the video itself set the stage nicely for the tour. Overall, we would recommend this tour over the daytime skip the line tours.

No crowd at all. In fact, at one time I believe our group of six including tour guide were the only ones inside the Colloseum. I highly recommend the Moonlight tour.

We started off with a VR experience that explains the history of why it was built. The family didn’t care for it at all and when we took them off the tour people were not there so for a sec we thought we were duped. Then inside the headsets didn’t work for everyone but the guide refused to speak louder. Otherwise, we enjoyed seeing everything but would have preferred a self guided tour with information packet.

None of these Viator tours are different from one another. They are all essentially scalpers that buy tickets for 25€ and jack up the price. Of course the coliseum night tour is amazing, the 2 start review is more a function of the reseller.

Sorry for the poor review…just wasn’t thrilled for $287.42 AUD investment.
Started off with poor preparation and leadership. All attendees didn’t know what the plan was then we were all fitted with VR headsets to watch a 10 minute overview of Rome…..finally we were shuffled through the line with a copy of our tickets “$25.00 euro”!!! Damn should have purchased a ticket locally🙄.
Ok, on to meet the guide, unfortunately head sets weren’t working so handed them back and let’s go “old school”.
At the end of the night we all had a great experience albeit the start was unorganised. My advise is do your research and book locally. PS having said that we have another booked for the Vatican tomorrow. I know right🤷♂️.

This was all around unfortunate. We were traveling from Florence to Rome to see the colosseum at night and were super excited about it. The trains went on strike in Italy the day of our tour. Viator nor the tour operator mentioned this to us. In order to try and make it to Rome on time, we rented a car and drove. Unfortunately, the A1 was shut down to an accident which prevented us from getting into town on time. We tried to contact the tour operator and let him know about our situation as soon as we reached the traffic from the collision but he ignored our message. We also contacted Viator support to help us get a hold of the tour company which didn’t make a difference. We were hoping either would offer us a partial credit or refund so we could do this at a later trip since we were flying out the next morning and they rejected our request. We did not expect a full refund but we’re hoping for something. So we are $560 USD for a tour we didn’t get to attend.

First, there is a pool of guides that are provided by Colosseum, so the agency is just a reseller and does not provide their own guides. Hence, it doesn't matter what agency you choose for the night tour. No issues though - we were met on time, given tickets, and left at the entrance. The tour itself was very short - maximum 1 hour. While it was informative, it felt like so many details were left out. You also are not allowed to move away from the group. The tour is limited to the underground section and the stage. It was still good to avoid the crowds (just 2 groups x15 ppl at the same time). In general, it was a great experience, but you may want to also get another day-time tour.

What a great experience! Our tour guide was not just there to tell us about the Colosseum but he brought it to life and caught the attention of everyone. The passion was obvious and he was able to add emotion to the stories he told during the tour. Being there late at night was wonderful, I felt like we had the place to ourselves. A must with any visit to Rome.

The tour itself, of the colosseum, by the colosseum staff, was excellent and memorable.
The tour we paid for, which basically turns you over to the Colosseum staff, was was waste of time and money.
Learning that we could have done the official tour for $25 each was very disturbing given that we paid around $200 US. No idea why it was marked up so much. Exclusive because of the night time tour, so the line privilege? Who knows.

This is the absolute best way to see the colosseum! Having an archeologist tour you through was fascinating. She had so many incredible insights and it really put you in the middle of the action. I can’t recommend this tour enough!! Only thing to note that wasn’t mentioned: an ID is mandatory so don’t leave it at home.

In my opinion this was the best and only way to tour the Colosseum. No one was around besides our tour group and the 2-3 other tours scheduled for that time. The guide was informative didn’t make any part of it boring by going off on a tangent and really explained in detailed throughout. This is a MUST tour, I wouldn’t even consider the day after doing this.

We were mesmerized by the Colosseum's grandeur and our guide’s expertise. However, the third-party booking company dampened our experience. We faced overcharging, unexpected delays without communication, and, communication issues with the third-party. Future travelers, consider booking directly to avoid such hassles.

Such a unique and magical night tour, a truly great experience that you won’t forget with some eerie vibes too!!! My husband and I really enjoyed taking this night tour, and the moonlight makes for such great pictures! The history, architecture, and various levels of the colosseum are fascinating!
