Itinerary
Start with morning pickup from select Reykjavik hotel or cruise port (if option selected), or make your way to Bus Stop #12. Then, settle into a comfortable, shared coach, and admire Iceland’s volcanic interior as you travel along the Golden Circle Route.
Stop at the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park. Learn about the foundation of the world's oldest parliament, which happened here in 930 AD. Then, view the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates that are slowly pulling apart.
Next, visit the majestic “Golden Waterfall” of Gullfoss, considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall, and the Strokkur geyser that spouts water high into the air every few minutes. The final stop on the Golden Circle tour is the enormous Kerid volcanic crater.
Then it's time to rest your muscles at the Secret Lagoon. Relax in a fairy-tale-like setting, made even more magical by the clouds of steam rising from the lagoon. Fed by underground hot springs, the waters stay at 100-104°F (38-40°C) all year round.
Once you're done, dried off, and changed back into your clothes, board the coach for the return ride to Reykjavik, where your experience ends with a drop-off. Note that the order of the itinerary may be changed.

Our tour guide Darren was fabulous and absolutely an informative guy! You learn a tons of valuable information about Iceland from him! I never listened to any tour guys on the bus but Darren was the first guy I was still listening even when I was napping! All the sightseeings were right on scheduled if you returning to bus on time. Secret Lagoon is a plus and relaxing especially we had glacier hike on a previous day!

This was a great tour. Darren was an awesome tour guide. We had ample time at each location. Would definitely recommend them

Our experience with BusTravel Iceland and Viator was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
The tour operator failed to pick us up at the location clearly specified on our reservation. As a result, we had to pay for a taxi to catch up with the tour bus. Despite providing three separate confirmations documenting the correct pickup location, neither BusTravel Iceland nor Viator would accept responsibility or reimburse us for the taxi expense. Their refusal to acknowledge a mistake that was clearly documented was particularly frustrating.
Fortunately, our guide was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Secret Lagoon and the geyser. Those were the highlights of the day.
However, good destinations and a good guide do not excuse poor customer service or a refusal to take responsibility when something goes wrong. There are many tour operators offering similar Iceland itineraries. Based on how our problem was handled, I would strongly recommend considering one of them instead.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are glad you enjoyed the guide, Secret Lagoon and Geysir. We do need to clarify the pickup issue. The confirmed pickup location was sent in multiple pre-departure messages, including before and on the day of the tour. As the assigned vehicle attended the confirmed location, the taxi expense could not be reimbursed as an operator error.

We saw SO much in one day yet it didn't feel rushed. Our guide was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about volcanos, Icelandic culture and history as we visited the sites.
Andres_M, Aug 2026
It was a fun filled day of great sightseeing and relaxing time in a hot spring and full of culture and knowledge Orr guide was amazing

A fantastic way to experience some of Iceland’s highlights in one day. The Golden Circle was spectacular, with breathtaking views at Þingvellir, the powerful Gullfoss waterfall and the impressive Strokkur geyser. Kerid Crater was another beautiful stop and a great contrast to the other landscapes.
The highlight for me was definitely the Secret Lagoon. After a full day of sightseeing, relaxing in the warm geothermal water was the perfect way to slow down and take it all in.
The whole day was well organised, with a good balance between sightseeing and time to enjoy each stop. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about Iceland, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
A long day, but absolutely worth it — a great combination of incredible scenery, Icelandic nature and a little relaxation at the end. I’d definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour guide, amazing scenery and plenty of time at each stop along the way. We especially enjoyed the Secret Lagoon and the fact we had two hours there to enjoy the visit.

Long day quite a bit of walking at most sites but well worth it. Our guide was excellent. Pickup and drop off went well
Shawn_J, Aug 2026
Our tour guide was exceptional - in detailing the history of the areas we were visiting, as well as relating all back to the history of Iceland in general.

The Golden Circle with Kerid Crater & Secret Lagoon was an amazing experience! Lili was a wonderful tour guide & Illya was a great driver. Lili gave us much background information on every attraction we visited. She also played music from local artists to introduce us to local Icelandic pop music.
The weather wasn't what we had hoped for, as it was a rainy, windy & cold day for August. It was still well worth the money. The lake at the bottom of Kerid Crater was beautiful. The Secret Lagoon was really welcome. The really warm water was very welcome on a cold day! It was very relaxing & great for the joints. It is in a very natural setting. The view is very nice & there are a number of small geysers & bubbling hot springs around the outside of the main lagoon with a nice boardwalk for viewing them. Gullfoss Waterfall was powerful & extremely impressive! It was so windy when we were there. The wind almost blew me over when I was trying to shoot a video of it.
Strokkur Geysir was a bit disappointing. It is supposed to shoot water 25-30 meters into the air & erupt about every 10 minutes. We waited close to 15 minutes, & it only shot water about 10 feet into the air for about 2 seconds, with no warning. I missed getting a picture or video as it happened without any noise to warn you it was coming, & was finished so quickly. That's Mother Nature for you. Hopefully, your luck will be better. I really this was a great tour, well worth the money. Highly recommended!

Our guide and driver (Pétur) was wonderful and efficient. He told us just enough facts and history without it being overwhelming, made it fun and easy to understand (even our 8-year-old said, "I like him! He's good!") for the whole family. We were a smaller group, which we also appreciated, and that helped keep us on schedule and even get a bit more time in certain places to enjoy the wonders of Iceland. Thank you so much for making it a special tour!

Our guide Darrin and driver Greg were excellent. Very informative and engaging. The scenery and stops were great although a little crowded particularly at Geysir. Darrin provided super helpful tips on how to manage each stop. I would highly recommend.
Catherine_H, Jul 2026
Darren and Greg did a fantastic job on this excursion. The secret springs was a lovely spot stop and relax and we were not hurried. The falls were spectacular.

We had a wonderful experience with Sunny and George. She was funny, informative, and made it an enjoyable experience. She gave us good information about the day and helped us prepare for the random weather of Iceland. Even with it being rainy and cold, it was still a great experience. The secret lagoon was really nice and just what was needed after a long cold day. An experience I’ll never forget!
andrea_n, Jul 2026
Wonderful experience, our favorite thus far. One word of advice, the lunch stop is confusing, expensive and chaotic. One soup, one salad and one burger with fries was $100 American dollars.
Suzy_M, Jul 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the entire day interesting. Seeing Golfoss Falls was definitely a highlight as was sitting in the warm water of Secret Lagoon.
ThomasJohn_O, Jul 2026
Reykjavik weather is not really accommodating BUT, Monia, our guide, made it a truly memorable day! She provided a lot of information on iceland and about each stop on the tour. She was informative, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! All the stops on the tour were interesting and different. I absolutely recommend this tour. Monia rocks!!!
Heidi_C, Jul 2026

Would highly recommend.
Katherine_N, Jul 2026
Tomas was a great tour guide! Easy pick up at the bus stop. Plenty of time at each stop. The views were amazing.
Cinda_E, Jul 2026
This was a great sampler platter of Iceland’s gems - volcanic craters, hot lagoons, breath-taking waterfalls, geyser fields, and tectonic plates. We loved it!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so happy you loved the tour and enjoyed seeing many of Iceland’s gems in one day, from Kerid Crater and the Secret Lagoon to the waterfall, geysers, and tectonic plates.
Celeste_H, Jul 2026
Such a wonderful overview of the natural beauty of Iceland. Perfect for travellers who do not have a lengthy stay and don't want to navigate the roads on their own. Our guide was so informative. The excursion group was so helpful with finding the meeting point. Would highly recommend booking this tour!
Roberta_R, Jul 2026
Koba, our guide was wonderful! He explained about the places we were visiting and gave us enough time to see everything. He went out of his way to make sure we understood everything, gave us insight to Icelandic culture and history. He was by far the best guide we have had in our travels!
