This is the third time I’ve been here + the first time I mostly took my time and checked out all of the kiosk videos where I could and listened to the instruments. That took me almost three hours! There’s so much to do here and absorb. Definitely with the $20 entry for sure. The staff are great and there’s so much to see!

This museum is well done. To see the instruments from all over the world as well as hear them being played by the local musicians in their native environment was fantastic, via AV at each display. There is a lot to see and take in in one day, give yourself plenty of time and enjoy the variety of music.

There was so much information to see, read about and listen to while strolling through both levels of the museum. We’ll come back next year as we got tired after three hours; still so much more to experience. $20 admission fee was affordable and well worth it!

Worth the time

Unique and Impressive! Very well organized. It's large place and takes more than 3 hours to walk through...

Worth a visit!

This was a great museum! Just looking at the instruments alone would have been worth the cost of admission. But the audio and video thoroughly enhanced it and made it very memorable. I learned a lot!

A special experience!

I felt very safe there. Lots of room, lots of hand sanitizers! Especially liked the Artist Gallery and the US section.

Good vibrations

This is a beautiful museum, we always love to visit when we are in town. The exhibits are so creative and informative. You can take in as much or as little as you want. Great for many ages.

Perfect Conclusion to Studying Sound

Jo_B, Oct 2020
The displays were detailed and beautifully done. Being able to listen to the instruments on display was so helpful. Many cultural facts can be gleaned from each display. The kids especially liked the Recycled Orchestra, as they had read Ada's Violin. And of course the experience room - hands on with the instruments - was their favorite.

A must experience

Amazing exhibits and history of music instruments and cultural music. Impressive display of over 15,000 instruments. Definitely have to give yourself and the family a few hours to tour this wonderful museum. Perfect place to visit. The room where you can play instruments is a nice touch to capture the essence and love of music and instruments.

Wonderful experience

Absolutely wonderful and it was very easy to stay socially distant and see everything. We have visited several times and always see something new.

Astounding collection!

What an amazing and interesting place to visit! So much to see and listen to. You will need a couple of days or more to take it all in!!!!

Helpful staff, and beautiful layout of displays. Nicely organized and clean.

Visited the MM and it was so much fun. The amazing display of instruments from around the world and its history makes this such a great experience. Loved how clean and friendly staff was during our visit. Definitely recommend it.

Wonderful way to spend the day

Sherin_H, Mar 2020
This was a wonderful experience. The staff and volunteers where very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Was able to view at your leisure and soooo many interesting things to see and hear. We would definitely recommend this to anyone it was fascinating and so informative. Great way to spend the day. Thank you 🙂

Great place for adults and kids first time visitors

Bruce_H, Mar 2020
This is one of the greatest things I've done in quite a while. Ther are more things to see than one could possibly see in one day. Our four hour visit got to view about 1/3 of the items on display. My understanding is that they have some 17,000 instruments of which some 5-6,000 are on display. Great place for kids with one room they get to play with the instruments.

Top-notch Museum

Janet_T, Feb 2020
One of the most interesting and enjoyable museums I’ve been to. A very comprehensive representation of music and musical instruments from every region of the world. There were many many people (it was a rainy Saturday) but the design of the museum is such that it never felt crowded. Well worth a visit if in the Phoenix area.

Wow the music

klempam37, Feb 2020
OMGosh, plan at least four hours if not the whole day. There is so much to see and listen to. We bought a second day at 1/2 price and will go back!

Check it out

You don't have to be a musician or a historian to enjoy the MIM. Very cool! Give yourself 2.5 - 3hrs to walk it all. The Cafe has great food at reasonable prices.

Loved this place. We got there when it opened and it was pretty empty. Then a bus load of elementary school kids arrived and it got noisy. : It is laid out by continent and country. It is really a must see if you love music and instruments. There was also an area with memorabilia from different musicians like John Lennon's piano, Taylor Swifts' outfits and so one. My teenage daughter and I loved it..
