- Although it is very interesting, the city pavement can become very irregular. Also, because the city has many sloped streets (Lisbon is known as the city of 7 hills), it might become a bit difficult for baby strollers and pushchairs. If you need to bring one, make sure it is a light, thin one. Baby carriers, back carriers or woven wraps & slings are a good option for babies and toddlers
- Make sure you and the kids wear comfortable clothes and shoes. A coat or a sweater might be useful even in summer time, because it gets cold after sunset. In summertime, don't forget to bring a hat and sunglasses for all (Lisbon is known by its fantastic bright sunlight) and make sure you apply sunscreen before starting the tour. In winter or rainy weather, don't forget to bring a raincoat

Our guide, Alexandre Ovidio, was excellent with our two kids! They are 1.5 and 5.5 in age and a bit of a handful but he was so gracious with them and kept our 5 year old really engaged. My daughter enjoyed it in the end and us as parents learned quite a lot too. He clearly loves kids and has thought through how to keep them engaged. High recommend !

Such a wonderful tour! My kids (10 & 11) were excited to learn about the history of Lisbon. My son was not as excited about walking, because you know - you have to actually walk around.
Alex was wonderful! Very engaging, with the little scavenger tour and tasks for the kids - my son quickly "changed" his mind and said he LOVES this tour. The walking was very slow with tons of great facts that kids relate to. Alex was very understanding to the million of questions he was being asked and was super happy to share different facts about Lisbon. He was also very interactive, to keep the kids engaged.
I highly recommend this tour for kids!

When we first met Alex he asked my children what they thought the tour would be about. My youngest answered something to effect of "boring history about statues", which even though an impolite thing to say, I felt was probably more or less a correct answer. It was nothing Like that.
Alex handed my kids some clipboard and it was their mission to spot patterns around us in the architecture; and with those answers came pieces of history of Lisbon. He then tasked us with a "scavenger hunt" which had us wandering around the streets of Lisbon looking for clues on buildings to find the finish.
Of course we also saw and learned about other cool Lisbon stuff too.
So we were all fully engaged in our surroundings and it was a meaningful experience when your goal is to connect with a foreign city you're visiting for the first time.
Highly recommended for kids 7-14

Wonderful, kid friendly walking tour. Our kids are 8, 6, 4 and 2 and it was perfect. We brought a small stroller. Kids loved it.

Rita was our tour guide. She was an amazing. Our daughter loved the tour and Rita , so did we. We got history lesson and good exercise, both for our bodies and mind. Rita had a bag with unknown objects. Our daughter had to guess what the unknown object was. Next came history lesson tied to the object. In one neighborhood we were left alone with clues how to get to special meeting place. We did it. At the meeting place we got a reward of traditional warm Portuguese custard cakes with cinnamon.
A few days later we run into Rita at the Lisbon Aquarium. She-marine biologist- is a guide there. She was nice enough to give us a quick tour of some of the tanks.
We hope to stay in touch and see each other again.

Arranged for cruise terminal pick up to try to avoid dealing with getting the to meeting point in a strange city. Had prompt and courteous for the arrangement. When we arrived, we couldn't find any one at the terminal. Called the number and immediately reached someone in the office who called the guide right away and got back to us. Turned out she had gone to another exit where another arrival cruise ship docked. She came over right away and apologized. the tour started without further problems.
The tour was good, designed with children in mind but equally interesting for the adults in the group, with emphasis on Lisbon/Portugal's culture and history. Luciana the tour guide was very nice and patient. We have a 9 yr old and 5 yr old. Both loved it, especially the labyrinth race. Had good recommendation for lunch at the end of the tour. A very nice day in Lisbon! would definitely recommend it for families with kids and would book them again for another tour they have multiple offerings if we visit Lisbon in the future.

We had an excellent tour with Mariana. She kept our three children interested the whole tour with direct interaction and involving them the whole time. We all enjoyed the tour. The ride up the hill in a tram and the treasure hunt/ Map quiz was great fun especially since we split into boys and girls teams. Girls won and we were all rewarded with a lovely egg custard tart. The personal tour I think works really well especially when I saw bigger groups walking around i was relieved it was just the five of us as a family. We saw all parts of Lisbon from the central square down by the river and the market up through the high neighbourhood and the stunning view back down into the square near the train station. I would highly recommend the tour and Mariana is an excellent guide who keeps the children interested.
