This kayak tour to the Emerald Cave & other caves was awesome, peacefully……and hard work lol — one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we got on the water, Jared the tour guide is super relaxed and inviting. Jared, made the experience exceptional. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate, sharing funny stories while making everyone feel comfortable and taken care of. UNLIMITED SNACKS for the win lol. Because of him, the tour felt personal, and fun, and unforgettable. View of canyon was nice, unexpected mini hike to explore. Also, he took tons of pictures and let us borrow his waterproof bag.
I can’t recommend this experience—or Jared—highly enough.

Our guide, Jerad, was amazing!! Knows and loves this area. So knowledgeable on not just the history, but the flora and fauna as well. We saw a ginormous eagles nest and eagles. And yes the water is that green. Awesome!

Stephanie and Jared were absolutely wonderful to work with while planning our kayaking trip with multiple kids (ages 7–10). Stephanie made the planning process smooth and easy, and Jared experience and calm, confident guidance made all of us feel safe and excited from the start. His passion for the outdoors is truly contagious and inspired both the kids and adults alike. It was such a positive, memorable experience for our group.

If you ever find yourself in Vegas with an extra afternoon ABSOLUTELY book a tour with Trek Las Vegas Kayaking Tours. Jared is a 5-star guide and the tour is waaaaay above average. I've done lots of guided tours over the years, both in the US and internationally, and this was easily top 2. Jared is an expert in the history, flora and fauna, and spiritual aspects of the area.

This particular tour I got hooked to Jared who acted as my tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and quite passionate about the job he's doing - a treasure!
I have been using Viator for years now whenever I book a tour and have had plenty of great tour guides and Jared ranks high up there making my vacations memorable.
Unfortunately, tge weather wasn't doing justice as Jared predicted and he recommended a different alternate itinerary. I said, you're the tour guide and you know better than I about the area so show me what you got.
No need to say anything more, because I can say many positive things on and on and on. Ask for Jared when booking a kayaking tour on Lake Mead!

Jared was the best host ever. From the very beginning, he made us feel like this was going to be the best adventure ever. He provided us a block of safety instruction and then we began our journey. Jared is so knowledgeable about the water, the rocks, and the history surrounding the 4 mile trip. He provided us snacks and water and was the best photographer ever, capturing all of our moments without us even noticing it. He went above and beyond and showed us another small cave to pass the time until it was our turn to go into Emerald Cave. He didnt want us to be sitting in the kayak baking in the sun due to the long wait. He provided us multiple opportunities to get off the kayak and explore. He gave us a great class on the land and the plants that were good if you were camping or living on thr land. He is an expert in geology and provided such detailed information on the rocks and the sentiments. He took us to a beach off the water so we could see the house of the river keeper from the 1900s. He then allowed us to take a swim and take photos. During the entire trip, Jared was full of energy and a great guide. There was not one awkward moment. He is very profrssional and an expert in what he does. He takes pride in his work and will ensure you and your party have an amazing day. He is very nice and polite. Highly recommend this trip and highly recommend Jared as your guide. You will not be disappointed. I plan on booking him for future experiences as well.

Great guide, great trip! Probably later in the day is better to see the colors in the emerald cave. The guide was highly knowledgeable within an informative dialogue on the flora, geology, and history of the location.

The trip to Emerald Cave was incredible. Peaceful water, beautiful views, and a great pace. But what made it unforgettable was our guide. He was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared. When we realized we didn’t have a ride back to town, he drove us himself. That small act meant a lot. Highly recommend this experience

Get there early. Entrance to the park can take time and finding the launching site also takes time. Tour was awesome and water is cold but beautiful.

This trip was great. The company was locally owed by a gentleman who knows his stuff about nature. He was very kind and made sure that we were all safe. He also informed us about the native plants and animals that are around this area. Jared even had snacks, water, and a dry bag for our use. I would highly recommend this tour.

Had an awesome time on the half-day morning Emerald Cove kayaking trip with Jared! The tour was small, just my group and Jared so felt intimate and fun, which made for a much more relaxed and personalized experience compared to the larger tours we saw on the river the river after we pushed off from the beach. So glad we didn’t go with one of those.
We chose Trek specifically because they use sit-on-top kayaks, which are so much easier for recreational paddling and perfect for beginners as one in my party was nervous about sit inside kayaks so made a point to find an operator that offered sit on tops. Jared was fantastic as a guide! super friendly, knowledgeable, and made safety a priority. He really knew the area well and was able to guide us away from the crowded spots so we could enjoy the quieter, more scenic parts of the river and let us select a quiet swim area and beach with no others around. With a small group there wasnt a strict agenda and was flexible so we could explore the area more.
Jared brought plenty of water, juice, and snacks and checked in often to make sure everyone was feeling good and if we wanted to paddle further. The flexibility of the small group also meant we could linger in spots we enjoyed without feeling rushed which I really enjoyed. Large groups great for a bus tour but not when wanting to really enjoy being outside on a lake or river.
Highly recommend this tour, and we’ll definitely book with them again and ask for Jared for future water adventures in the area.

I took this tour with my 15 year old son and it was his favorite activity on your trip! Jared was awesome! He knows his way on the river and has all the cool facts and stories that go with it. His communication was on piont, i knew exactly what i was getting into. My son and I felt safe and in good hands. I strongly recommend this tour. Best way to enjoy the Colorado and the beauty of Lake Meade! The water was emerald green, the history fascinating, the landscape breathtaking & we even had the bald eagle fly out of their nest on cue as our guide was pointing out the location! Our guide was truly amazing, he is incredibly knowleagable of the area and was more than happy to answer any and all questions, he gave thorough instructions and had a great sense of humor which added to the overall experience. I would highly recommend anyone to tour to anyone of any age!

This was a fun adventure that only took half a day. It was a nice little get away from the Strip. We had our own car with us and drove ourselves out to Willow Beach to save time. Our guide, Jared, was knowledgable of the area and took his time showing us everything. He took great pictures for us and pointed out things we would've overlooked. He was super nice, and friendly. Definitely worth the trip! We went in November, but I bet it would be great for a swim in the summer!

I chose this tour specifically because of our preference for sit-upon kayaks but ended up with so much more. Jared provided an excellent river adventure that included extensive knowledge of flora, fauna, geology, indigenous history and culture. We were in a small, intimate group for which he individualized the experience. The scenery was spectacular and this trip had its own, unique characteristics from other kayak excursions we had done in the past. If you’re looking for a close up look at the Colorado River basin and gorge, this trip is highly recommended.
