It was very easy to book. Our guide was in contact via what's app to make plans and then met us at the museum. He managed our tickets, skipped the long queues and then went on a. Really knowledgeable tour of the museum and of David. So glad we did this.
Seeing David was wonderful. Booking through Viator was TERRIBLE. Very disappointing since used them in past and it was wonderful. Booked 2 tickets on 6/6 to see David at 4pm on 9/5. Received confirmation, all information correct, hit the get tickets button and a barcode cane up. So, all set. But on 9/5 was told by attendant she couldn't ket us in with that barcode. She told us to walk to a plaza and meet our guide. Did that. No one there. Eventually returned to the attendant who sent us tto . . SheAcademia ticket office. That lady sent us back to plaza. This time there was a young woman there with a flag. She wasn't who we needed but said she could call him - someone named Mike from Maestro Tours. She dialed his number and it rang and rang. Eventually she hung up. She tried again after a bit and when he answered she said "Mike where are you?" Eventually he ran up and asked if I had gotten his message about meeting in the plaza. I replied that I had gotten a message I regarded as a SCAM because it said I had to purchase tickets from the guide to get in the building to see David and I had already paid over 80 euro for that ( over $92 on my last credit card bill). Mike said I had paid fir the tour but not entrance tickets. At NO time in the purchase process was this clear and it was never indicated that I had NOT yet purchased actual tickets to get in. I told Mike if I had to buy tickets, I was getting them from the ticket office and that I'd be sharing my comments on social media. So we walked back to the ticket office, paid another 48 euro for 2 tickets and starting walking toward the general admission line. The lady who sold us the tickets left her station, escorted us over and got us right in. Bless her! David was wonderful but the experience with Viator was a DISASTER: SO much wasted money, needless stress and disappointment over a company I thought we could trust.
Olivia clearly LOVED art and especially David. She did an amazing job explaining what David represented to the people of Florence!
Another amazing tour — this company was great and our guide was outstanding. He made sure the whole group stayed together, even calling people to make sure no one got lost, and provided mics so everyone could hear clearly. He smartly took us to the most important works first and moved at a pace that was thorough but never dragged — he even kept my teenager engaged, which says a lot! Several other tours cancelled on us last minute and left us scrambling. Don’t make the same mistake I did: book this one first.
Our guide, Ali, was so nice and so knowledgeable about Michelangelo's David. It made the experience of seeing the Statue of David more interesting and more enriching. My family was very happy with him. Highly recommended.
Amazing guide. Great information, very defined period of time. Amazing explanation of all of Michelangelo's sculptures in the museum.

This was the biggest waste of money ever. The tour guide was not informative or even friendly. The entrance fee isn’t even included in the ticket! Please save yourself the pain and just buy an entrance ticket to see the David and read about the art online.

We respectfully disagree with several points in this review. The entrance fee is clearly disclosed as not included in the product description, so this should not have come as a surprise. Our tour focuses on the highlights of the Accademia Gallery, including Michelangelo's David, exactly as advertised. We are sorry the experience did not match your personal expectations, but we stand by the accuracy of our listing.
Guide was knowledgeable about the museum, including some interesting bits of history about David. My only criticism is that it was difficult to find the tour guide at the time of the tour. The directions were vague, and there was no sign as indicated. But we did manage to ask the right people and find him.
Every one on the tour met in the Piazza delle Belle Arti, 15 minutes before tour. Radios & earphones were handed out and tested. Then we walked about 50 metres to the Accademia Gallery, through security screening, which was very fast.
The tour was about an hour and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Would definitely recommend.
Claudio was an excellent guide. He gave us not only incredible factual information into the work of Michelangelo, but also a sense of the shifts in the emotional tone and impact of the statue of David as we moved around it. Wonderful!
Wonderful, wonderful experience. Our Guide was Greeeaaattt and knew so much about the history of the Statue of David. I never knew the statue was of David from David n Goliath of the Bible until this tour.

Not overall impressed with tour. Was loud and hard to hear/understand tour guide. Crowded museum and not really my style of art. David was very impressive, but would not do a tour next time.

The Accademia Gallery can be very crowded, especially during peak periods, and this may sometimes affect the overall experience despite the use of audio headsets. We're pleased you enjoyed seeing Michelangelo's David and appreciate your comments.
The first sight of David was a humbling experience, the scale of the work and the energy that he emanated was palpable, in spite of the gallery being full of visitors. Our guide’s enthusiasm and passion for his subject material was infectious and he made the experience a whole lot more meaningful i strongly recommend Maestro tours.
Informative tour. Worth using the guided tour. Learned a lot about the statues along with some hidden secrets we would not have found otherwise.
Wonderful experience and very informative. We had a group that ranged from 12-68 and everyone loved it.
We hadn’t realised that the tour didn’t include entrance and that was €24 extra per person. However, I have been to The Academy before and I learned so much more on this visit than without a guide last time. Ali, our guide, was knowledgeable, passionate and we thoroughly enjoyed our hour with him. Once the tour was over we could go back and revisit what we wanted.

There are hidden costs you were not told when booking. I had to pay an extra $20 Euros for the guide to let me in.
Also it was very difficult to locate the guide in the crowds.
Quite a shame, but they get away with it because of the huge number of people trying to visit the museum

Do not listen to their advisors. They will lie to make a sale then tell you that you can't cancel. I am still trying to get my refund from them for a ticket that I did not want to purchase.
Fascinating tour of Michaelangelo's mindset and works. First Sunday of the month is free thus no "skip the line" tickets.

We didn't know that the museum was free on the first Sunday of the month. Our tour guide was worth booking. He was very knowledgeable with photos. He didn't rush us and allowed time for questions/photos.
Charismatic, enthusiasm, incredible detail. The guide was so knowledgeable. She showed us 3 angles of David peering at us. The history of the piece of Carrera marble was amazing
