Told many times to be 20 minutes early (with exclamation points). We arrived promptly and then told to come back in 15 minutes. We came back and were told there was a delay and to sit on the couch, which we did for almost 30 minutes. during this time, the tour operator continued to sell skip the line tickets for our group. Finally at 12:30 we asked again and learned that we were actually joining another tour that must have been running late or scheduled to start at 12:30. The tour guide was flustered or frustrated (maybe both) and upset and we felt that she never had any command of the group and frankly lost control. By the time we got into the academy we were nearing the originally scheduled completion point. The tour guide or operator made no modifications or efforts to improve the experience. While we were looking forward to an expert guides overview, we had also chosen this experience to keep to our personal time schedule. Had the tour operators communicated with us what was really going on rather than stalling basically, we could have reset our expectations and enjoyed the experience. I reached out to Viator afterward to see if they would consider a partial refund and heard quickly back with a no. Long story short, if you are late, Viator and their tour operators tell you won’t be refunded but if they are late, they will take no responsibility.
I was surprised at the lack of customer service as our other experiences have been quite good.
PS - we do notice that unlike other tours where they ask you multiple times to give a review, no one do on this tour - I suspect it’s because reviews would be poor.

The tour was good but it started over 30 minutes late because they had to “find us a guide”. Seems like there are lots of tour options, could easily find a more reliable option.

Tour was great with Filomena as our guide, she was full of knowledge and had a great personality. She took us through the background of both Michelangelo and Florence to set the scene and better understand the statue of David. She was very informative while keeping it easily digestible, fun and interesting at the same time.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was wonderful to tour with through the Accademia. This was a wonderful tour and priced very well including the entry ticket. The fact that we got to skip the line was wonderful!

This was the best guided tour I have had in my entire life and at the ripe old age of 72 that is saying something… Our tour guide Eduardo and he was unbelievable. The academy was spectacular and needless to say the tour guide beyond belief. He blended old our history with Renaissance with modern and his understanding of the works of Michelangelo was amazing.

DO NOT BUY!!! Viator changed our reservations to another time that was not doable by us and is now refusing to refund our money. Horrible customer treatment

My wife and I had a very enjoyable tour of the area Accademia Gallery. It is the low season and the lack of crowds made viewing, moving about the gallery, and taking pictures easy without the stress. Our guide is a scholar of the arts and his knowledge and insight of each of the pieces and his ability to communicate it to the average person of art knowledge (myself) was incredible. This was a most enjoyable tour.

The statue of David! Our guide Antonio was very knowledgeable and maneuvered us past the lines and the crowds as promised in this booking. It was brilliant, and a very great experience with a great guide. His English was perfect as well.

This was an incredible experience! Our tour guide, Antonio, was excellent and very knowledgeable. Seeing the statue of David was more emotional than I expected it to be, and I’m so glad we booked this tour.
One thing to note - Viator was able to get us in for a tour at the last minute when all tours through the Gallery website were sold out. Awesome!

None! They were running an hour behind. So, we couldn't take the tour. We would have missed our ride to where we are staying with our tour!!! They yelled at us when we asked.

Our tour guide seemed like a very nice person but she spoke so quietly that we all struggled to hear her. We asked her to hold the microphone so we could hear her better and she did it for 5 minutes and then stopped because she used her hands while talking.

Eduardo was the best tour guide we’ve ever had. His knowledge of art history and of the David was so interesting and he passed his knowledge on to us in beautiful English and with humor! He included several paintings and other sculptures in the tour.
