Very busy attraction and...

Very busy attraction and long queues. However this was helpful as our guide related the interesting information and facts about the creation, design, construction and building of the beautiful Cathedral. And who knew the cupola or dome frescoes is the largest in the world. Like me, everyone believes it is the Sistine chapel! Absolutely mesmerising…no wonder the cathedral is a unesco protected structure. Worthwhile seeing.

Underwhelming

Tour guide was nice enough. I thought fast tracked entry meant no queueing but this was not the case at all! Unfortunately we found the whole thing a bit boring, having queued to get in we were underwhelmed. Standing and listening to the description of the painted dome roof for longer than 5 minutes isn’t of great interest. From the outside this duomo is stunning, but inside any worth the queue as far as I’m concerned.

We were notified the day of the tour that it was going to start 30 minutes early, which due to our travel schedule, we were unable to adjust. We were able to join late, but unfortunately missed a good portion of the content. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, though at times difficult to follow with the accent and speed of her briefs. The experience was short, and half of the tour was spent outside waiting in line. We enjoyed having some context over a non-guided experience

Our guide was incredible! I can not remember her name but she was from Florence and had so much knowledge about the Dome and the city! It was super valuable to have someone explain what we were looking at and experiencing! I highly recommend booking this tour!

We didn't get to skip the line and it wasn't a ticket to anything. We could have stood in that line for free. This was a tour by someone with non-native English that I didn't think I was getting - I just wanted to get in without waiting and maybe see the dome and we had to wait and paid for something that was free plus a guide I wasn't looking for.

Timed entry does not mean that you walk in at the assigned time. It means that you get in a long line. Nothing wrong with the tour I just think it should be clear what one is buying.

Upon meeting the company representative, we were directed to the very back of the line without any ticket. When we looked for the representative, she was gone.

Waited in the cold for 40 minutes past our meet time because others were late. The booking expertise is confusing. Do no expect the Duom to be the dome.

The 9:20 am start is gathering only. Duomo opens at 10:15. You have time for a coffee. In December the waiting line is in the shadows so it’s colder than the the forecast. Marta was a great guide. Charming, knowledgeable, and funny.

Our guide was excellent. She really knew the history of the Duomo and its architects. However, at the last hour the company slipped the schedule by 45 minutes which placed the rest of our schedule in jeopardy. If we had been that late we would have forfeited our fee. Same rule should apply to them.
