Atlanta: Tea Around Town Bus Tour with City Highlights - Total Disappointment

    Carolyn_M, Mar 2026
Formal Complaint Regarding Mismanagement of Atlanta Tea Around Town Bus Tour – March 14, 2026 (11:30 AM EST Booking) ********************************************************************** Dear Customer Service Team, I am writing to formally express my concern and deep disappointment regarding my experience with the Atlanta: Tea Around Town Bus Tour with City Highlights scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:30 AM EST. This event was organized to celebrate my sister’s 71st birthday. She thoughtfully planned this outing with her sisters and sisters-in-law, making it a very special and meaningful occasion. In preparation, our group purchased coordinated pink attire for the event. We arrived early, parked in a downtown event lot, and paid $31.75 per vehicle. At approximately 11:10 AM, my niece, two of my sisters, sisters-in-law, and I—along with several other participants—were waiting at the designated bus stop where passengers are picked up and dropped off. Around 11:20 AM, a bus arrived and dropped off passengers from the earlier 10:00 or 10:30 AM tour. However, once the bus was emptied, it departed without providing us an opportunity to ask whether we should board or if our scheduled bus was arriving shortly thereafter. By 11:25 AM, our full group of approximately 12 individuals had arrived and were waiting. No bus came at our scheduled time. At approximately 11:50 AM, another bus arrived, and as we prepared to board, the host informed us that this was not the 11:30 AM bus, but instead the 12:00 PM bus. By this time, many of the noon participants had also gathered, creating confusion and overcrowding at the stop. We were then informed that the 11:30 AM tour had been canceled. This came as a complete shock, as no one in our group—or any of the other guests scheduled for that time—had received any notification via phone, email, or otherwise. This situation was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Many participants, including our group, had made a significant effort to dress for the occasion and incurred parking expenses. Additionally, one group shared that they had traveled from Connecticut to Atlanta specifically to celebrate their mother’s 70th birthday on this tour. I would like to clarify that the young male host present did not contribute to the issue. He was professional, courteous, and handled a difficult situation as best he could. He communicated with his manager via text and relayed that we would need to contact the number listed on the Top View website regarding refunds. He also informed us that the 12:00 PM bus would not depart until 12:50 PM. The entire experience was chaotic and poorly managed. After approximately an hour of uncertainty and multiple attempts by guests to contact customer service, we finally received a message stating that the 11:30 AM tour would be delayed until 1:00 PM rather than canceled. Despite this update, no bus arrived at 1:00 PM. Ultimately, the bus did not arrive until approximately 1:45 PM. By that time, guests were exhausted, thirsty, and in some cases feeling unwell due to the prolonged delay without food or proper accommodations. Once on board, the staff member did his best to provide a positive experience. Although he appeared to be new, he was attentive, personable, and did a commendable job under the circumstances. However, the overall experience was unacceptable. There was a clear lack of communication, accountability, and organization. As a result, our group was extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, we will not participate in this event again, nor will we recommend it to others. I strongly encourage your company to take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure that future customers receive a well-coordinated and enjoyable experience. In closing, I respectfully request that all individuals scheduled for the 11:30 AM Atlanta: Tea Around Town Bus Tour on March 14, 2026 be provided with a full or partial refund due to the mismanagement and significant delays associated with this event. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely,

When I showed up, the bus...

    Kelly_B, Mar 2026
When I showed up, the bus was 15 minutes late and didn’t have my reservation. I showed my confirmation and was only able to attend because another group didn’t show up. Only had space and food for three out of four in my party. I’ve sent messages and no one responds ever. This has the opportunity to be a great event.. it was anything but.

    The Late Bus Tour

    Margaret_G, Mar 2026
Our tour was late. We has reservation for 11am. We did not get on the bus until 1pm. The host was very nice. Other than that l will never do this again. The food and tea was a 6 on the 1-10 scale.

    Do not waste your money

    Tara_W, Jan 2026
It was terrible! The bus was 40 minutes late. Leaving us in the freezing cold. The food was half uneatable poor. The other half poor. It really was disgusting They give you 3 sips of tea at a time. It didn't even total 8 oz. The bus just drives around no entertainment or information about Atlanta

Late, not an actual tour, Bland food

    Hannah_J, Jan 2026
I booked this months in advance, and reviews seemed fine, until i reread them before we did it. I read other reviews, and apparently the bus has been at LEAST an hour late on every tour these past couple months. It was 32 degrees, and our bus was an hour and 45 minutes late. We only got a notification ONE MINUTE before the "departure" time, which was sent 3 times. We had other reservations and actvities planned, and it really threw off the entire day. We couldn't even go do other activities because we would only have 30 minute increments of a warning of when DEPARTURE was, and they told us to be fifteen minutes early for departure so we could get in the bus. I called to ask what was going on, and was told it was due to traffic, but then when we got on, we were told it was due to a different bus breaking down. It appears miscommunication happens often in this service. For the amount you pay, it's not much different than just doing afternoon tea at a local tea shop that offers it. Tea around Tea is advertised has having a tour guide, however the "tour guide" didn't actually give a tour. She came up, said "Welcome to afternoon tea! You will get to try five teas, and ask for refills if you like a specific one the most." And then we didn't hear, or speak to her until the "tour" ended and she collected plates. She seemed nice, but she didn't give a tour. Not to mention, we got 4 teas, not five. Waiter seemed kind of angry, but I would be too if I had to deal with angry customers for being late. But maybe don't take it out on the customers. Also, they had mentioned we could ask for a refill at any time, but the server would disappear for 15 minutes so we couldn't ask for extra until she came back up with the next tea. I asked at the very end to get more of one of the teas, and a woman behind me asked if she could also get the same one. Waitress said she would be back with more, but never came back. Also, I smuggled my own sugar onto the bus because we read the reviews saying they dont give you sugar until the end, which is correct. They gave us sugar for the last tea, and that was it. The food is presented at the beginning, and some of it was hit or miss of quality. The egg sandwich was good but had way too much pepper, and the bread was stale. The sweets were pretty decent. But, everything seemed low effort or low quality. The bus appearance WAS as advertised. So at least you know you're getting your pink bus... But honestly, having the experience cost as much as it did, it's not really worth the money. Its honestly just low effort afternoon tea on a bus. If it were cheaper, I would say sure, but for the price, you might as well go to a tea shop that ACTUALLY does afternoon tea.

    Could be better

The concept is cool but the execution was subpar. We had a tour guide that had been in ATL for a couple of weeks; so she couldn’t really add to the experience except the narration for the tour. She was good at singing. I believe the experience would’ve been enhanced with a more knowledge and entertaining host. The food was blah… they served chicken, roast beef and egg salad unless you get the Luxe package; which I was unaware of. The server was nice. Upon entry the bus smelled like weed.

    Late and disappointing

    Ellen_W, Oct 2025
This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone in any city. Our experience was to start at noon. The morning of the activity, we were texted and called with a recording letting us know that the bus had been postponed and the experience would start one hour late. We rearranged our afternoon activity no problem and made our way to the meeting point. Once at the meeting point, we learned the bus drove past, the driver threw up a peace sign, and kept on driving. There were many of us standing on the sidewalk waiting for the event to begin. At 1:15pm we all began calling the main office to find out when the bus would arrive. We all were put on hold for a very long period of time. Some of us hung up and some stayed on the call. Once Bradford came back on the line he had no information for us. He said the bus would be there soon. At this point, we were all standing and waiting for ~45 minutes. We called again and we were immediately put on hold. We were on hold for 20-30 minutes. Once Bradford came back on the line he said the bus would be at the meeting point at 2pm. TWO HOURS late!! We asked for an upgrade in the type of tea for our inconvenience and were told no. We asked for our money back and were told we could do this, but then we would not be able to go on the experience. We then asked for some sort of compensation and Bradford didn't seem to understand what we meant. The customer service was underwhelming to say the least. We explained that a return of $25 would be acceptable. We were told we needed to write an email. I wrote an email and it was requested that I send "proof that I was on the bus." I sent in my tickets and I have yet to hear from them again. This company is not to be trusted and has no moral values or customer satisfaction concern. We missed out late afternoon activity because the bus was so late. Once on board, we found the staff was also in the dark about the occurrences of the day and had to manage a group of unhappy customers on their own. At that point, we all tried to make lemonade out of lemons and laughed and had a good time. In general, the bus interior is old and has an odor, the food was not that good with cold stale bread, and there is not enough tea served to constitute an entire cup. There is no cream or milk offered and sugar is offered once in the middle of the program. For the price of this experience, I recommend you take a different city tour, then go have high tea at a nice hotel.

    Poor communication, great staff.

    leslie_S, Sep 2025
The best part of the trip was Zino. His witt and serenade saved the day. The bus was an hour late, viator customers recieved no communications, other customers revieved updates. Once on the road only about 3 sights were observed due to unexpected road closures. The snacks and tea's were good.

    ATL Fancy Tour

    Alicia_J, Aug 2025
Easy to book and the bus was exactly as advertised. Everything was on time and we had no issue finding the meet location. However, the traffic was pretty bad so I wish that was included in the meet notes, leave 15 minutes early as the location is a very popular tourist destination (centennial park right by the ferries wheel) The bus again was as advertised, lots of details: flowers, pearls and lots of pink. The table we had included a tower of tea sandwiches, pastries and an assortment of jams and clotted cream. For the tea samples, the complimentary tumbler had a cup holder and the server came by with cold and hot teas to try. Our server unfortunately fell during service but they got up and continued the tour and gave us a great experience. The tour guide has a lovely voice and sang several songs along the tour. However if you wanted a tour that includes details and stories about the historical spots, 1) it was hard to hear 2) the bus is moving in normal traffic so the spots we passed were simply pointed out or skipped So it’s a fun quick ride around some of the historical spots, lots of colleges and a couple churches in the AC, this is for you. Oh and it’s a good excuse to dress up.

Tea Bus. Not a lot of sights

    Karen_D, Jun 2025
The bus was 1 hour late with no notice. Sitting around a park in Atlanta in the summer is not fun. and of course no money back or discounts. I tried to call a few times to find out where the bus was but was placed in hold for 10 mins or more. The tour was ok. Wish they gave more information about Atlanta. Maybe a few stops to get pictures. We used this bus as a fun Monday/daughter expire de and to visit Atlanta and see some sights. It the bus you want to take to see Atlanta. The staff was phenomenal. No complaints about them. I would give this review zero stars but they were great.
