This was a great tour. We did Alcatraz in the morning and San Francisco in the afternoon. At Alcatraz we were able to meet a former inmate, now author of his experiences at Alcatraz. He signed his book and we got a photo! A rare and exciting experience!
San Francisco was brought to life for us by our fantastic tour guide, Buddy. I don't believe there is an area we didn't stop at or at least drive by. His vast knowledge of all things San Francisco was incredible! We learned so much as well.
We were so glad we booked this tour and did not try to sightsee on our own as we would have missed so much. Highly recommend!!

Worst Experience. NEGATIVE 5 stars. Booked a tour of SF and Alcatraz. After 10:00pm I was notified the tour was cancelled (I was already asleep so didn’t see the text til I was ready to leave for the tour). Rebooked for the next day. Same exact thing happened again. Message at 10:08pm saying tour was cancelled. Won’t use them ever again!

I was a bit disappointed because we did not get to see everything that was listed on the itinerary, specifically Nob Hill and haight Asbury, but otherwise it was good.

Whilst we loved the tour we had a few issues leading up to this. We booked a morning tour with the afternoon at Alcatraz but at around 9pm the evening before our trip we got a message to say that the day had been swapped around and we would be visiting Alcatraz in the morning.
I appreciate the terms say they have the right to change things but we had to rearrange our plans to accommodate this. The tour operator was very good and did pay our transport costs to get to the ferry in the morning but things didn’t go smoothly for us. First of all we couldn’t get an Uber so used the tram, this dropped us a 20 minute walk away from the ferry, we had 25 minutes to get there. Thankfully we are fit enough to make it but it was tight. Secondly, we finished Alcatraz around 2 hours before the bus was due to collect us so we were left hanging around until pick up time, he was also 30 minutes late so lots of time wasted. The tour itself was fab and Mike was very knowledgeable but if they change the layout then we should be offered a choice of times to go to Alcatraz as we would have gone at least an hour later. We spoke to two other couples who also felt the same.
As I say this is a great trip but would have been a better experience if the original itinerary was kept to.

Learning the history of the area from

Dear Lizsa Skentelbery, here is a response from our driver: We are sorry to hear of the disappointment of our mutual customer. Regarding their concerns:
The city portion of our tours is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, depending on where the pick-up locations are. This, and the drop off point, is told to our customers also at the start of the tour.
On this particular tour for our mutual customer it was 3.5 hrs- from about 8:45 a.m to 12:15 p.m.
On our website this tour is also described as three and a half hours.
The amount of time spent at the various stops is not indicated on our website, we do squeeze every minute possible out of stops, as well as reaching as many stops as possible within the time frame, as time between the two parts of the tour is also necessary.
Our mutual customers saw all the major attractions described on the website, as well as some extras, such as Golden Gate Park, with time to visit it. Also, on that day, the Golden Gate Bridge was mostly fogged in, but this tour on that day stayed there for about 12-15 minutes anyway,
At no time during the tour did our mutual customer express any concerns or disappointments to the guide. At the end it was "thank you" and "goodbye".
The other customers on the same tour that day were extremely happy it also.
Again, we are sorry for this customer's apparent dissatisfaction, but we do not see any justification for a refund, as the tour was done in the same manner we always do it, and in accordance with our description of it on the website.

Alcatraz tour but disappointed our driver told us we didn't have to make the long line since we booked the ticket with you. But they told us there that we had to still make the line.

The city tour was ok. Could have been longer and ito more of the history of the city. Alcatraz was well worth the trip. A lot of history about the prison and the actual conditions are still intact

Jerry was a fantastic guide, his knowledge and personal anecdotes made the tour extra enjoyable. He made sure we had enough time to enjoy each stop and still got us to the Alcatraz ferry in plenty of time.

We were picked up on time outside the Hotel we were staying at. There were 4 of us plus the driver Randy Cowen, a very pleasant and well-spoken gentleman, who was very easy to get on with and talk to. The vehicle he drove was very new and was comfortable to drive in, it had all the bells and whistles and made for a pleasant experience. Randy's knowledge of the city was second to none and he took us on an extremely memorable tour. Going up to the Twin Peaks and seeing the views of the city was one of the highlights. If we return to San Francisco, we will have no problem using this company again and hopefully have the pleasure of having Randy as our guide. Thanks Rosanna and Bill
