Great way to see the main sites in Boston. Easy to find pick up spots, lots of trolleys never had to wait more than a few minutes, comfortable, great communication, nice to hear live tour guides and not a recording. Highly recommend!

The hop on hop off bus is a super way to get around the city easily. Lots of stops and info from the driver along the way. And no worrying about parking. We didn’t wait long for any bus and we had a very enjoyable day seeing Boston. Would definitely recommend.

Fun & easy way to see Boston Landmarks

Eva_L, Aug 2026
Fun and informative! Guide was good, ride was comfy. Like that you can use it all day- which is perfect for seeing all the sights!

Best day

Kristal_G, Aug 2026
Wonderful tour guide he was knowledgeable and helpful. He was also very accommodating to the needs and questions of all passengers.

Good way to get oriented in the city. Guides can be helpful and humorous—especially one called Hambone! He is a laugh a minute as you tour.

Great way to get familar with the area as well as history. Maureen was an awesome narrator! So much fun!

Do this your first day here !

Donald_D, Aug 2026
I wish Viator gave you a link to the pickup points. That would be so helpful and help planning. Otherwise it gets you around the licit for a good overview of where you can go and what to see.

Very friendly staff, recommend you do a couple laps as each driver has different info to pass on. Beanie and Spencer are outstanding.

A Nice Way to See Boston

Bob_W, Aug 2026
The city tour was amazing, filled with history. The back bay portion had less interest to us. Overall, it was very enjoyable. If you can get the tour guide Spenser, please do it. He's incredible.

Loved having live tour guides as opposed to a recording. I had 3 different tour guides that were very knowledgeable and funny. Made it a much better experience. The seating was very comfortable. My overall experience was great.

This was a good experience. All of the drivers were extremely helpful especially since I was disabled. They helped me on and off the bus. There was a lot of bus changing to go the different routes. The driver was very knowledgeable about Boston.

Well done!

Dwight_S, Aug 2026
Good overview of Boston sights with history explained. Human guide, not recording. Guide is entertaining as well as informative. Engaging personality. Answers questions.

My Bucket List Tour

Kim_G, Aug 2026
I’m from Boston and always wanted to do a tour. It was very informative and a relaxing time. Also our tour guide Beanie was so much fun we laughed and sang especially the Cheers song from the sitcom which was one of my favorite shows.

Good drivers, but not a functioning process

Julie_R, Aug 2026
The map that is sent in the text message only has the numbers of the stops, without including the list of stops you have no idea which number is which stop bc they are not named on the map. We stood at stop 1 for aver 30 minutes with a full trolley just sitting there and the empty one behind it waiting to pull up. In the sun this was not necessary. The drivers were all knowledgeable and friendly. Always willing to answer anyone’s questions (even people that were not on the tour). Overall was only an ok experience.

Fun time

Heather_H, Aug 2026
Great experience! All of our drivers were great, friendly, funny, and knew their information. We were able to hop on and off all day and explore the different parts of Boston. Highly recommend.

Great trip provided by great people.

Andrew_Z, Aug 2026
I think this is my 3rd or 4th city that we've used an Old Town Trolley and it is always a great way to get around in a new city that might be challenging to drive in. Having done it before, you can also tell when you have a good driver/guide and a not-so-good guide. We probably had 4 or 5 of them on this trip, but Gonzo stood out above the others. He was able to keep us informed, keep us entertained and most importantly keep us safe. We also rode with Casper twice on this trip and she remembered us the second day, which is rather amazing when you consider how many face she must see everyday. Great people make an operation better. I wish I could have expressed my appreciation in financial terms but I never carry cash anymore, it would be awesome if there was a way to digitally tip the drivers that make a difference.

All the drivers did a great job and it was easy to use to see the different sites. Wish it would run later in the day.

Best Introduction to Boston

Tam_S, Aug 2026
Very informative. This is a great introduction to Boston. Warning: you will never see the typical big red bus known for this kind of excursion. Instead, it's the cute little trolley that runs all over town

Jim_N, Aug 2026
fun experience and great guides, trolleys are clean and well kept. The guides are very knowledgeable and have great sense as a humor.

Was good and bad

Michelle_T, Aug 2026
Great tour guides!! Had 3 different ones . Would have had 4 but the last pick up did not come. ...so bad

A great way to see Boston!

Karl_H, Aug 2026
Our driver, Cog, was absolutely wonderful. He added a lot to the experience. There is no way I would drive in downtown Boston, but he seemed to take it all in stride. The route that we took took us to a lot of places we wouldn’t have seen otherwise!

Enjoyable sightseeing experience wish I had planned more time to the tour. Great time but need minimum of 6 hours

Best way to see the city....

Ken_S, Aug 2026
Best way to see the city. We actually booked a tour for another day after attempting to drive and visit a few sites ourselves. Highly recommend the two day tour. Guides were great, told stories of their own experiences from their years in Boston-shout out to Burnsy, Maureen, Lisbon, Jem, and Spenser, just to name a few.

Great tour!

Richard_K, Aug 2026
For us older folks it was nice to just sit back and listen. We didn’t get off at any stops but really enjoyed

Good setup

William_M, Aug 2026
Trolleys came regularly and were easy to find. Guides were knowledgeable and witty. Lost one star because the back bay loop stop was not easily identified which caused a bit of stress

Boston Bummer

Sandra_J, Aug 2026
If it is raining, the windows are closed and it is very humid and hot. We were NOT impressed with one of the drivers. He spoke way too much about himself and was very loud. We have been on other Hop-On Hop-Off locations and have had a wonderful time. Not happy with the Boston experience.

These are the best! It gets you from place to place while you get to hear about the area! Great for day trips! Best part is the ability to pick and choose where you want to spend the most time and if you don’t like a guide, you can just hop off and grab the next one!

Drivers were excellent in explaining all as you traveled through the city. Comfortable trolleys and enjoyed seeing the city. Jump off and on is a great feature.

Maribel_C, Aug 2026
This is a great way to get in the history of Boston and travel without driving. We should had done the back Bay Area at stop #7. We instead did the Tea party museum and could not find our way back on. It was still worth the money.

Disappointed

Leyda_R, Jul 2026
Start early, we were not told that the trolleys stop running iat 4:00, Some of the drivers did not even talk to share the highlights of the city.

Overall enjoyable

Ungelia_W, Jul 2026
Very knowledgeable tour guides, great way to sit back, relax (for the most part) and learn about parts of the city. The Back Bay loop/part of the tour isn’t very long, but we waited close to an hour (50 mins) before getting picked up; made what was suppose to be a 1.5 hour tour into an all afternoon affair (approx. 3.5-4 hours), and that’s without getting off at any stops, except to transfer buses for the Back Bay/orange loop tour at stop 7/7A. We got on at Stop 1 just before 1:00p. Traffic became an issue later on the tour as it was longer than expected & put us in the thick of traffic time. Overall, enjoyable tour.
