What a great experience! Kyle was so incredibly knowledgeable of history regarding the freedom trail and beyond. He told the story with so much enthusiasm and even had visual references of those who inspired the revolutionary struggle and supported the movement. Never a dull moment, so worth it.

Great tour with my 16-yr-old son. Fantastic tour guide. Amir was super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended for all ages.

Response from Host, May 2026

Rafe, thank you very much! We're so glad you both enjoyed Amir's knowledge, storytelling, and company. Our 2.5-hour, in-depth history tours may not be the right choice for all younger visitors to Boston, but many do enjoy the Revolutionary stories and sites.

Interesting History, Slow Walk

Sherrie_C, May 2026
We learned some interesting history for sure— the guide was very knowledgeable regarding the history and facts of the sites we saw. He was sweet and friendly. The tour suffered, however, due to what was perhaps inexperience on the part of the leader. He could have used some training in managing such issues as the tourist who asked question after question, really slowing down the tour. The leader remarked more than once that we were behind on the scheduled timing. The group did not need to hear this. Instead, the leader should have had tools in his repertoire to manage the situation without verbalizing his anxiety. We moved much too slowly, stopping and standing for periods that felt long and frankly became boring. My group thought the tour was just “ok”— and all had eagerly anticipated the activity.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hello, Sherrie, this is Maureen, the Operations Director here at Hub Town Tours. Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback, and for your compliments for your guide. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed his extensive knowledge and friendliness! He has led close to two hundred Freedom Trail tours, and many guests are delighted to enjoy his sunny disposition and mastery of Boston's Revolutionary history. However, we always strive to deliver a 5-star experience for each guest, and are sorry to hear that the pace of the tour was not to your liking. It is certainly a challenge to balance the demands of inquisitive guests with the need to keep an in-depth narrative moving along. We appreciate your feedback, and will use it to improve our training. Thank you for joining us for a tour, and safe travels to your next destination! Best, Maureen

Our tours do dive deep into Revolutionary history, and our guides enjoy adding other Boston facts along the way. Great Intro to Boston and the American Revolution

Jennifer_M, May 2026
We really enjoyed this tour. There is so much history in Boston and Meghan did a great job of fitting in as much as she could without it being overwhelming. We learned a lot about Boston's role in the beginning of the American Revolution (and that we should have paid more attention when we were school!). It is a lot of walking and standing but pretty standard for a walking tour. Would be tough if you had mobility issues in some areas because of the cobblestone streets and sidewalks. Also, you start in Boston Common but you don't spent much time there so if you want to see the park or some of the landmarks, plan to arrive early. It's a beautiful park (and huge!) The tour finishes near the water. There was a short refreshment/bathroom stop towards the end and there is a restroom fairly close to the starting point.

Response from Host, May 2026

Jennifer, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience on Meaghan's tour, and for five stars! Part of what makes her such an excellent guide is how well she can craft her wide historian's knowledge into rich, but not overwhelming, stories that engage guests. Thanks for the overview for other readers. There is a lot to see in the many acres of Boston Common, so it's worth a visit on its own. So is the North End of Boston, where the tour ends.

Money well spent

Stephen_Q, May 2026
Maura was an EXCELLENT guide. She exuded love and enthusiasim for Bostonian and US history. She delivered the content in a way that was both accessible and entertaining. She also provided great recommendations regarding places to eat and things to do. I highly recommended this tour with Maura. It was money well spent.

Response from Host, May 2026

Thank you so much for this 5-star review: we love the all-caps EXCELLENT for Maura! She does love Boston history and sharing it with guests through her fact-packed, witty storytelling. We're always glad to know our guides could help with suggestions of good food and activities!

Our guide, Amir, was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the tour! Being in a small group we were all able to see and hear and ask a lot of questions

Response from Host, May 2026

Boston is now one of my favorite cities!

Response from Host, May 2026

Excellent information....

Tracy_H, May 2026
Excellent information. Knowledgeable tour guide. It was the right length to cover everything. Any longer would be too much.

Response from Host, May 2026

Tracy, thank you so much for the five stars! We're so glad you found the guide knowledgable and the tour "goldilocks" length--sometimes 2.5 hours doesn't seem like enough to us historians!

Wendy_B, May 2026

His presentation made it so we can remember it! I HIGHLY recommend taking this tour with Mark! He is a historian and teaches history to 7th - 12th graders so you know he has to be engaging!! If you want the history, this is your tour

Krystle_P, May 2026
Alejandro (Alex) knew his history and did a great job. We got to see everything, but not enough time to go up and get pictures of every stop. Biggest issue was all the other tours going on at the same time from other companies and having to work around them.

Response from Host, May 2026

Krystle, we're thrilled to hear you enjoyed Alejandro's tour! He truly is an exceptional guide, and ensures that our tours stand out among the many operating here in Boston.
