Top Denver Day Trips

This trip can be hard if someone isn’t used to altitude increases, so stay hydrated and listen to your body. We took the tour with Jerry and he was terrific. He was very attentive to everyone and meeting their needs, creating a warm environment and making it easy for the group members to engage. By the end of the day everyone was laughing and joking and that is due in large part to Jerry setting the tone. Jerry provided strong historical context to our stops and gave excellent information on what to expect each time. We had time to explore The Garden of the Gods, take a photo opp at balancing Rock and walk around Manitou Springs, all before our cog train ride. Even though he didn’t ride the train to the top of Pike’s Peak, Jerry gave detailed instructions so everyone was prepared. The summit at Pike’s Peak is unpredictable so I suggest layers of clothes and possibly a rain jacket. The weather can change from sunny to hailing (this happened to us) so being prepared is important. Once we descended from the summit, Jerry was waiting with snacks and gave us time for restroom breaks and getting back in the van. He slowed for wildlife on the way back so we could get photos and gave us a great last stop at a viewing spot of a gorgeous area. We teased him that the incredible rainbow, which then showed as a double and reached across the entire landscape ahead of us as we headed back, was a great final touch he had created. The company was easy to work with and I appreciated many aspects of their business, including providing a safe, gluten-free lunch for my husband who has celiac. We really loved this trip and highly recommend it, just make sure to prepare for the altitude.
