- You can be picked up from a private address other than hotels in Porto & Vila Nova de Gaia downtown area/city center only (Matosinhos Cities are outside pick-up limits)
- Our pick-ups happen between 8am & 8:45am (the time window for all client pick-ups), so we advise to always aim to be ready at 8am in advance.
- Wineries or order of wineries visited may differ depending on their availability.
- Visits at the wineries and river cruises are not fully private and open to external participants.

We were vey lucky to have our lovely guide Luis Neves for our small group tour to the Douro Valley. Luis was informative, passionate about his home and very knowledgeable. The hosts at both vineyards were very welcoming, the wines were exceptional and lunch was lovely. Our fellow travellers were all very friendly which helped to make the day. The boat trip allowed us to see the beauty of the valley. I would certainly recommend this trip

Our wine tour in Porto was honestly the best part of our trip so far! Our guide, Bernardo, was SO lovely and funny, and made what was a long day feel effortless and incredibly fun. We felt so comfortable asking questions throughout the day. He was incredibly knowledgeable and always happy to share more. We had an absolute blast, learned a lot and couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience. We’re already planning our next visit to Porto!

This is a wonderful day out. From start to finish , our excellent guide/driver, Carlos Daniel provided us with expert knowledge of the wines of the Douro valley and kept us amused with his anecdotes.He was very kind and charming and made sure that the group from various countries gelled.The tour was well organised and my request for a gluten free meal was well catered for by the winery where we had lunch.The staff at both wineries were lovely and knowlegable and we learnt a lot about the wine of the region. The scenery en route was spectacular and Carlos Daniel made sure that everyone had perfect photos to remind them of this trip.The small group made for a very comfortable and calm experience . The communication with the team was excellent .Definitely would recommend this tour.

Our trip started with being picked up by Ana. Straight away we were made to feel welcome and put at ease. We then picked up 4 more people, introductions were made and we set off. It was great to see Ana giving us details with love and passion for her country and it's history. The wine tours and food were second to none and we had a fabulous day. Thoroughly recommend this tour and company.

My husband and I had a great experience on this tour! The Duoro Valley was stunning and both wineries we visited were welcoming. Filipe was one of the best guides we had during our trip. He was very knowledgeable and always checking in to see how he could make our experience better. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to experience the Duoro Valley!

Such a nice trip into the Douro Valley, the landscape is incredible and the wine of cause speeks for it self. Our guide was really nice and you could feel that he loved his work. We got a lot of history in the long ride into the Douro Valley aswell as the wineproduction. The first stop was both lunch and wine tasting and wow it was good. Food was 3 course with a little starter as well and it was so tasty. The choice of wine was very good and of cause you have to buy something home. Next up was a little trip in the Douro valley River which was amazing, the guides were funny and again landscape was incredible. Last stop we got to taste a bit of wine again but also honney and portwine. So so good, i couldnt recomend this enough! Good for both travellers and partners. Guide speaks very good english and has a side hustling as a photographer, so be ready for some photoshooting;) 10/10 recomendable!

Book this experience! It was wonderful and relaxing. We had so many great tastings and enjoyed a delicious local lunch. We would recommend booking a Sunday excursion since the traffic was minimal so the travel time was relatively short. It was very warm so I would recommend making sure to take water with you and a hand fan. It was absolutely delightful in one of the highlights of our trip.

Having been to most of the world's wine regions, I was surprised to find out that the Douro Valley is arguably one of the most picturesque wine areas in the world! And this excursion, on windy roads in a Mercedes van, is the way to experience it. We went to more than one Quinta (a wine "farm"), where we experienced excellent, but less known Portuguese wines, pairings, and olive oil. The boat ride was also perfect. You will thank yourself for taking this tour!

Vasco was a great guide with excellent English and a super sense of humour. Visit to Amarante was lovely and a great start to the tour. Excellent local pastries in a wonderful coffee shop. Douro river tour was so picturesque and a definite must. We felt lunch came a bit too late at 3pm, so make sure you bring snacks, or eat more than a pastry at the coffee shop in Amarante. Vineyards were beautiful and tour guides excellent. If you are British you will understand the phrase “it was a bit of a dry old do”. If you are not British. This means there was nowhere near enough wine. Don’t be shy in asking for a full glass. 🤣🤣

We had a wonderful day trip to Duoro Valley with Living Tours company and Nuno as our tour guide! The drive alone was beautiful and Nuno shared wonderful history along the way, including background information for how it became Duoro Valley. We visited beautiful local vineyards and had a family style home cooked meal at one of the vineyards. We learned so much about Port, local table wines and also did a beautiful boat tour in the valley. My husband and I have been to wonderful wine regions all over the world but this is by the far the best in terms of beautiful landscape. There was no way we could do this on our own- a tour is much needed. Nuno was a wonderful and friendly tour guide with amazing knowledge but also kept it interesting for my two teenagers as well! I would recommend him and this company.

We had an amazing experience with Luis! He had a fantastic personality-friendly, engaging, and full of positive energy. He made everyone feel welcome while sharing interesting stories and local insights. His professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding, ensuring everything ran smoothly while keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. Luis also has an amazing and cool music playlist which we truly enjoyed! Visiting the Douro Valley was an absolutely incredible experience and is a must see when in Portugal. The scenery is breathtaking and the wineries were beautiful. We had lunch at one of the wineries and it was delicious! Our group loved it!

Beautiful and fascinating trip. First, Felipe, our tour guide, was an excellent driver, great guide and quite funny. We really enjoyed spending time with him. The Douro Valley was beautiful and awe-inspiring. The immenseness of the valley and the history of the valley were impressive. The wine tours exposed us to great Portuguese wines, which we will definitely look to purchase. The lunch was delicious. We truly enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend, especially with Felipe.

What a fabulous day we had with Miguel in the Douro valley. Loved the small group, only eight of us in a superb air conditioned Mercedes, and Miguel was so knowledgeable and friendly but in a very professional way.
The whole day was well paced, great wine tastings/lunch and the Duoro valley is just so beautiful. The boat trip on the river was a nice interlude again with a knowledgeable guide on the boat. If you're weighing up whether to do this trip just book it, it was one of our highlights of our trip to Porto and certainly one of the best trips that we've done on our extensive travels. Thanks again Miguel, you were a star.

Oh my goodness what a glorious day! Miguel as an excellent driver, your guide, and knowledgeable tour guide! We learned so much during our day and Miguel expertly handled the steep and windy roads of the Duoro Valley! We enjoyed our first stop in the town of Amarante to walk, have a snack, take in the history, and take photos. We then head to a beautiful lookout of the valley to take pictures and learn more about the area. We head to the first winery Santa Julia to sample 3 wines and then have a DELICIOUS 3 course lunch! We then head to the river for an enjoyable river cruise and a sample of port wine. After that we stopped at another beautiful outlook before heading to the next winery Rumo Silvestre. There we sampled 3 wines and a rare white port. All throughout the trip Miguel provided us with history and his love for the area was evident. We had the most fabulous day and enjoyed meeting the other people in our group. The van only held 8 people and we loved that they picked us up at our hotel. We highly recommend this tour!

This experience is not to be missed! The food was amazing! There was more than enough wine (which was also amazing) to have with the lunch. The last winery was ok. It had small pours and the wine was not to my style. The boat ride was great to be able to see the Douro Valley from below. Nice little spot of port wine in the boat too. We made a few stops along the way for pictures which was great too! Very much enjoyed! We had a family member with car sickness but took over the counter med and sat towards the front without any issues!

This was a beautiful day and well worth the money. Our guide, Pedro, was fabulous and so knowledgeable. The authentic lunch at the winery was delicious and added an extra Portuguese touch! We would highly recommend this tour!

We had an excellent experience. Our guide and driver, Pedro, was great! He shared interesting cultural facts, even played music that went with our drive. We had to get back a little early, so he made sure that we headed back in time. We enjoyed it the boat ride, wineries, and lunch. The Douro Valley is beautiful!

The Valley itself is beautiful. Our guide was wonderful. There seemed to be to be more driving than wine tasting. We expected to spend more time at the two wineries. There was a stop in a small town that took up time that we would have preferred to spend at the winery.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour! Visiting the two wineries was very interesting, and we enjoyed learning about the winemaking process while tasting some excellent wines. The lunch was absolutely delicious and a perfect complement to the day.
The boat ride on the Douro River was beautiful and relaxing, adding even more to the experience. Our guide, Diego, was pleasant, professional, and an exceptionally safe driver. He were very informative throughout the tour and spoke excellent English.
