We took this tour because we were unsure of whether we would enjoy port and didn't want to commit to a multi-winery tasting. The tour of the cellar or "lodge" as it is called locally was excellent...included a great overview of how port wine is made and the different variations, as well as why port is so unique to the area in Portugal. The explanations of what we were tasting was also well done, tying back to what was discussed in the tour.

This was a brilliant experience. A family run business but so professional. We had Cindy as our tour guide and she was amazing. So informative about everything from the beginning to the end of the Port/wine making process.
Got to taste 2 wines/2 Ports and loved every minute.
Such a reasonable experience and would recommend to anyone wanting a shorter experience rather than a 5 hour vineyard tour.

kids don't get much out of it - fun with lots of wines and ports to taste - the portions were very generous

Need the proper address not just the street took an Uber who had no idea where it was and almost missed it had to find it ourselves after he dropped us off at the Holiday Inn way down the street —- driver lived in Porto and had no idea almost missed the entire thing

We booked the English speaking tour which was at 15:30 on our ticket. However when we arrived, we were told it was in Portuguese and that the English tour started at 15:00. This must have been an error on the Viator site, however it meant that we missed the first 20 minutes of the tour and only joined at the end for the tasting which was a huge shame. I would recommend not booking through viator and instead using a different booking site for Pocas.

Great Small Winery Near Porto that does more than just Port. There are plenty of port wine cellars in Gaia. It was to try one that with many varieties of wine. Off the beaten path, but good.

Very interesting tour. Very suitable for my husband who uses a walker. I would like to have seen the bottling area or a video of same.
Parking on street is free on Saturday and Sunday, this would have been useful to know in advance.
A few more nibbles to accompany tastings would have gone down well.

Wonderful experience and tasty wines. We are not port fans so we did the VOC (table wines) and port tasting.
Tour available in several languages, which was really good. Our mother tongue being French, we took the tour in this language and our guide was great: passionate, dynamic and friendly. there was the choice of 2 white wines, 1 red, 2 white port and 1 red port. Very nice selection of wines by the glass if you want to extend the experience. I highly recommend
