Great tour of the countryside on our way to the wineries. Our host Alex was friendly, knowledgeable, very informative L me p, and had a great sense of humor!
Lunch was tasty and filling in a beautiful setting where we could relax, share stories and not feel pressure to eat quickly and leave.
The boat tour was relaxing and again stunning viewing the vineyards on the rolling and steep hills/mountains.
Oh yes, the wine and port were lovely too!
Nuno was a great driver and made our Douro Valley tour such a memorable day. Even with some unexpected van issues, he handled everything professionally and got us everywhere safely and on time. The wine, lunch and entire experience were fantastic. The cliffside, one-lane roads were definitely not my favorite, but Nuno navigated them like a pro! Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time with Jorge. He picked us up right about Airbnb. The Douro Valley is beautiful and Jorge told us so much about it. He was very knowledgeable. The van was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the small group experience. The views were so stunning. Lunch was delicious and the wine tastings were so fun. We had a very enjoyable day.

Group of 7 plus driver. Picked up at our hotel. Long drive to get to the stunning Douro scenery, but broken up with vineyard visit. Driver very knowledgeable. Vineyard wines sold at very high markup. The lunch location was delightful but the food was terrible.
May be best to visit early September when the grape harvesting takes place.

Fantastic experience with Samuel. Loved everywhere we went except Port winery at end of day. The first winery in the morning in Sabrosa was so interesting, fun, delicious, and we learned so much about wines, honey and olive oil. The lunch setting was just gorgeous and delicious. Boat ride on Doyro was refreshing and scenery was outstanding. Best of all was our really fun group and Samuel. Thanks for a very memorable and unique day!!!

We had an excellent day touring beyond the city, visiting beautiful wineries, including tastings & lunch and a cruise along part of the Duoro. Alex our guide who was very informative & entertaining & our small group of 8 made it a fun day. We would definitely recommend this tour.

This is a long day, for sure, but worth it! The pace is slow-going with enough breaks; there were no huge crowds at any stop (this is mid-Sept). The first vineyard tour was detailed and interesting, with wonderful tastings of wines, port, honey and oils. Second stop was a wonderful lunch al fresco, followed by our 1-hour river cruise, final stop a port tasting. Our guide Sarah was fantastic: fluent in English, very knowledgeable about the wine industry, the Douro region and Porto. She was a great driver, up and down hill and dale-- very positive but not overly chatty.

Alex was awesome. His knowledge and experience of the history, area and wine makes the trip. Why I didn’t give it 5 stars a couple brought a toddler and we had to put up with crying etc. I have booked many activities through Viator but will only book adults only from now on. It’s rude and selfish to take anyone under drinking age to bother the group!

We had a wonderful day trip to the Douro Valley and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and travelling in a small group made the day feel relaxed and friendly.
It was fascinating to learn about the local winemaking traditions, especially the history and production of Port wine. The relaxing river cruise was also a lovely addition and gave us another opportunity to take in the stunning landscape.

Great tour, Sara was an amazing guide. The least exciting part was the boat tour the rest of the venues were great last stop at Quinta Dos Castelares was the highlight.

We had an incredible tour to the Douro valley. Our guide Sarah was fabulous. She arrived right on time, was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, excellent English, and a good driver (very important in Portugal where some drivers are definitely not!) The tour itself was wonderful. We had booked this tour because it included options other than port, which we had tried at home and didn’t really love. Port here in Portugal is way way better! The first stop had 3 different ports - a white, a ruby and a tawny and all were excellent! The next stop was the boat ride which was beautiful. After this was a delicious lunch (I had chicken and my husband had fish and both were great. Lots of wine with lunch. Next we went to an organic winery and had a white, a rosé, 2 reds and a port. We bought some to take home it was so wonderful (note only one place was selling things which was perfect for us - don’t love being asked to buy over and over). They also had olive oil and 3 types of honey. Highly highly recommend!!!

We took the Douro Valley Premium Small-Group tour with guide Sergio, had a wonderful day from pickup from our hotel in Porto, very picturesque ride to the Douro Valley, two stops at lovely wineries with tastings of Port and wine while enjoying scenic overviews of the beautiful Douro Valley, informative tour of how Porto is made, scenic stops for pictures, a lovely river cruise then fantastic lunch with wine outdoors in the shade at a winery turned boutique hotel. We finished with a final Port and wine tasting at a unique winery before heading back to Porto and drop off at our hotel. Sergio was a fantastic tour guide, knowledgeable, considerate, so pleasant and fun to spend the day with! We highly recommend this tour for a great day out!
