Practical points first -...

Practical points first - carry water, use the toilet before you start. 3 hours is a long time although our guide (Sonia) made it fly by. Hats and stout shoes essential. It is an amazing tour with lots of information - well worth having the guide otherwise it is just ruins. The guide really brought it to life.

Raphaella took us on a fascinating tour of Pompeii covering about 30-40% of the site. She showed us some amazing houses in Pompeii and explained the history of them. This tour feels expensive, BUT I am tell you it is not! It is worth every penny. You get easy access to the Pompeii, easy ride into the area to explore. Raffeale was an excellent tour guide, really enjoyed our trip as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). Would highly recommend. Our private tour of Pompeii with Italo was absolutely fantastic and easily one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We spent two hours exploring some of Pompeii’s most fascinating and important sites, and Italo made the entire place come alive. His knowledge was incredible, but what really set him apart was how he shared it, he was engaging, funny, and full of great stories rather than simply reciting facts. He gave us a real sense of what everyday life was like in Pompeii nearly 2,000 years ago. We were traveling with our kids, and Italo was wonderful with them. He kept them interested and involved, answered all of their questions, and knew exactly when to add some humor. He was incredibly kind, personable, and patient with our entire family. Having a private guide also made a huge difference. In just two hours, we saw an amazing amount without ever feeling rushed, and Italo knew exactly where to take us and what details we would have completely missed on our own. Great Day on the Coast

This tour was incredible. We spent the entire day with Gianluca, and he made a point to remind us that we should relax and he will figure out all of the timing details and we shouldn't worry about a thing. Claudia gave us probably one of the best tours we have ever done in her walking tour of Pompeii. She was so knowledgeable and was an absolute pleasure. Due to timing, we hit "only" two towns - and we let him choose. We did Positano and Ravello - and of course drove by the others. We didn't have any particular spaces to see in mind so we let him choose. Gianluca is from the area and grew up on the coast - so he knows every road and town very well. He picked us out a great spot for lunch and gave us time to explore at our leisure. He was always a couple of steps ahead and it was great to learn about the coast with someone who is so proud to call the area home. He has a great sense of humor, was incredibly friendly, and made sure we were comfortable and happy with our day. Prior to booking, I researched several other tours that basically do the same tour. But, the others seemed to complain that the driver wasn't friendly or informational - but Gianluca is both. He told us if we would prefer to keep it quiet, then he would not talk and let us enjoy. We wanted to hear, so we told him to talk as much as he wanted to!

This was an amazing tour with Eliana Sandretti tours! Amedeo was so informative about the city, culture and history. Fabulous Day in Pompeii and Herculaneum

This is a long day of exploration and diving into history, but completely worth it. Both Pompeii and Herculaneum are fascinating sites with lots to see, and it wouldn't have been as meaningful and educational without a knowledgable tour guide. I highly recommend this experience- but definitely bring water and good walking shoes!

We went to Pompei two...

We went to Pompei two weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very knowledgable he helped us find the best spots for taking pictures and made sure that we saw all the best of Pompeii. He made recommendations of other things to see when the tour was over and encouraged us to explore on our own. Our guide was the best and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone else coming to Pompeii.
