What are people saying about Pompeii

Great trip even with the rain and clouds …
You travel for about 30 mins by mini bus ( seats for all ) and Mario our guide was great, giving lots of details on the way. The drive up Vesuvius is a bit heart racing but the driver was very experienced. It was sunny when we left but when we arrived at the car park it was cold and wet so take back up clothes and don’t just wear shorts!! The walk up is about thirty minutes and is very steep. Again our guide was amazing and gave lots of talks along the way and at the craters edge. We got a glimpse of the crater before the cloud descended … although no view it was still worth the hike for me … great trip but take warm clothes and a rain coat in case ( too windy for umbrellas)…. Shout out to Mario from Askos tours… he was great …

We went to Pompei two...
We went to Pompei two weeks ago and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very knowledgable he helped us find the best spots for taking pictures and made sure that we saw all the best of Pompeii. He made recommendations of other things to see when the tour was over and encouraged us to explore on our own. Our guide was the best and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone else coming to Pompeii.

Worthwhile
Well organized -train tickets round trip from Rome to Naples and back were so easy and Raphael, our guide, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable with a great sense of humor making the day enjoyable. The bus was comfortable and easy to access. Also met some wonderful people!

Great Pompeii Tour
Paolo was an excellent guide. Very informative and very funny and always willing to listen to questions and give out special tidbits and info that relate to the current world in terms of language or practices or words/phrases. He also was very informative of the tour and where we are and where we would want to go to help us enjoy ourselves after the tour was done.

Seamless and wonderful experience!
I booked the "From Rome (by train)" option and everything about the experience was seamless and wonderful! My train tickets were emailed ahead of the tour, and I was met on time by a driver or tour guide at every single location. My tour guide in Pompeii was Daniele and he kept things engaging and interesting, and our server at the winery was Claudia and she was amazing as well! Including the roundtrip train ride, it was about an 8 hour day and I thought the pacing of everything was just right. Extra shoutout to Sofia from the tour company, who did an outstanding job at making sure I didn't miss out on this tour - a couple days before my reservation, they received notice that the train I was scheduled to take was canceled. Although it was not their fault, they made sure I was still able to go by getting me on a later train and upgrading my tour package to a private one. On the day of the tour, Sofia continued to update me to make sure my train and drivers were on time as well. I appreciate her hard work and making sure I didn't have to worry about a single thing, thank you so much!

Fabulous experience
Amazing tour of Pompeii by Francisca! We had a bus that was very late and the tour company, Askos, was extremely helpful. A representative met us at gate and directed us where to find the tour already underway. Very relieved we didn't miss much despite our late arrival.

Once-in-a-lifetime experience
This experience was, by far, the most interesting and informative one I have ever participated in. From the moment he picked us up until he dropped us off (9 hours later--which flew by, frankly), our guide Antonino engaged all 4 of us in an interactive discussion of Pompei, Mt. Vesuvius, and Herculaneum. He had amazing graphics and photos on his tablet to provide visual representations and had a warm sense of humor and delight as he explained what we were seeing and answered every question in a clear and accessible way. His passion and knowledge were stellar. As I told him at the end: "This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us and you were a once-in-a-lifetime guide."

Eliana and Pompei- perfect bucket list experience
Ever wait your whole life to see something, only to fear the experience won't live up to the hype? For me, that was Pompeii. I'd been waiting since grade school to walk those streets.
I'd hyped myself with visions of ornate beauty. But that was tempered by the math. Pompeii at its peak was home to nearly 20,000 people. Today, with huge portions of the city still unexcavated, there are typically that many tourists or more all jostling to see the same things.
I braced for the worst.
Thankfully, my wife hired Eliana Sandretti as our guide. Confident, easy going, and carrying more knowledge than any one person should reasonably possess, she managed to make it feel like we nearly had the city to ourselves.
She steered us through the ruins and around the tourist chokepoints without ever making us feel rushed or stalled. The tour moved at our pace. She took time early on to understand what mattered to us, then built the experience around that.
Her eye for detail — sharpened through years as a working archaeologist — consistently surfaced things we would have walked right past. Even more compelling were the stories she told about the people: how they lived, and how they died.
By the end, you'll find yourself glancing uneasily at Mt. Vesuvius, quietly hoping today isn't the day it decides to finish the job.

Book it! It was one of the highlights of our holiday!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our vineyard tour, tasting and lunch. It started with a warm welcome and then a private tour for our group of 6 around the vineyard in a golf buggy. It's a beautiful place with its own ruins, a stables, a hotel, a small 'zoo' and a pretty outdoor seated area for lunch and tasting. We were initially given a glass of spumanti, which was lovely, and then taken to our table. Our group were sat on our own table and had our own sommelier. She was lovely and really funny. We were given a glass of white, a rose and two reds alongside our lunch, which was also great. We bought another bottle to share as well, although we probably didn't need it! After a long morning exploring Pompeii this was a perfect way to spend the afternoon and one of the highlights of our holiday. It's also very close to the main Pompeii train station - we walked from the park and then got a taxi back.

Engaging, knowledgeable, fun and interesting!
Our tour guide, Elisa, was amazing! From the moment we walked through the gates she told us what we could see with a very engaging mix of humour and knowledge. She took us to all the best spots and told us many of the stories behind the ruins and had answers to any questions our group had! There was points within the tour where she let us go and wander for 5/10 minutes in places where there was a lot to explore but most of the tour was in our group of 11 which I think was a perfect size after seeing some other tours whilst we were there in huge groups. Thank you for making exploring Pompeii so enjoyable and bringing the history to life!

Pompeii is so expansive...
Pompeii is so expansive so this tour was a great way to see a good portion of the site with highlights. Our tour guide was well versed on Pompeii knowledge and was able to provide excellent history and stories in an engaging way. We spent a couple hours after the tour continuing to explore the site. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to understand more about Pompeii!

Perfect Pompeii Day with Francesca!
Booking the family option tour of Pompeii with Francesca was the one of best decisions we made in Italy! She was absolutely amazing and truly brought the ancient city to life for our family. Our three children, ages 9, 7, and 3, were completely captivated by her engaging storytelling and incredible preparation. My wife and I were just as enthralled! Francesca's expertise shone as she strategically navigated us through the site, expertly avoiding crowds to give us a surprisingly intimate experience, even on a very busy day. She is so smart, kind, and clearly passionate about Pompeii. She made our visit incredibly special and memorable.
