The guide around Pompei was great.She showed us all kinds of interesting things about the ancient city.Learned a lot from her.The second part to the winery was even better.The wines were amazing along with the meat and cheese pairings and its all locally produced by them and the honey that the winery tour guide gave us that is made on property was amazing with the cheeses.They also ship worldwide and we bought 12 bottles of wine and a case of honey to give away.If you like to try new things or like really good wine BOOK THIS.

We booked this wine tasting through Viator and additionally ordered three bottles of wine, which were paid for in full. Unfortunately, the wine was never delivered to us.
After the event, we made multiple attempts to contact the host via email to resolve the issue and request a refund. We received no response whatsoever. We later learned that the wine had been delivered to an entirely incorrect address, yet despite this clear error, the host has still refused to refund us or take responsibility.
Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication and accountability. Paying guests should not be left chasing down missing items with no response or resolution. especially when the error was not on our end.
This experience was extremely frustrating and fell well below the level of professionalism expected from a Viator-listed experience. I would strongly caution future guests and hope Viator addresses this issue with the operator.

Additionally, we have never received any email or message regarding a missing delivery or a refund request. We always respond to guest communications and take responsibility when an issue occurs.
For this reason, we strongly believe there may have been a mix-up with a different experience or operator.

Great guide in Pompei. She truly knew what she was talking about. Wine tasting after was very nice but don’t expect much food.

Poorly planned with the need to also get to Pompei on your own AND buy the entry tickets on your own. So not only got super expensive but inevitably a few folks didn’t buy the tickets ahead of time.. so much less time to see the ruins to get them sorted. Add to that we had 16 people (not a small group tour) so 2 ladies that had to go to the bathroom delayed us another 15 minutes (REALLY long lines) - could have been avoided if the tour guide let us know ahead of time to use the restroom while checking us in. Lots of missed opportunities like this made the tour not great. Wine and lunch was good, but all in all not worth the expensive day with only a small amount of the ruins we got to see.

Thanks for sharing your feedback, even if we believe it’s quite unfair. We’re happy you enjoyed the wine and lunch portion of the experience, as we are very proud in offering authentic local food and wines to our guests in non touristic spots at all(that’s part of the reason why our prices are higher than our low rated competitors)
We would, however, like to clarify some important points.
The tour description clearly states that both Pompeii entrance tickets and transportation are not included in the experience. This information is visible multiple times before booking, to ensure full transparency and help travelers plan accordingly, for a very simple reason, the park of Pompeii has a mandatory rule that the tickets have to be purchased with everybody’s name on them and are non refundable, for this very simple reason we don’t include them, but again, complaining about that after it’s written several times, not only on the tour page, but also in the welcoming message of the tour and in the reminder, it’s quite sad and unfair.
It seems that all of your dissatisfaction may come from a misunderstanding of what was actually included in the tour.
Regarding the “expensive” I understand that travel costs can vary depending on personal budgets, but the experience offers great value for what is included — a professional guided tour and a high-quality lunch with wines produced locally and in not one of those touristic wineries.
Regarding the guests who hadn’t pre-purchased their tickets, please note that this did not delay the tour, as our team assisted immediately and had their tickets sorted right away.
Our guides are experienced professionals who handle these situations efficiently to keep the group on schedule and whenever there is a case of 10 minutes of delay they exit the ruins 10 minutes later to balance the schedule.
Finally, as for restroom use, we always allow time before entering the site, but we also trust guests to take personal initiative — after all, our guides are not responsible or aware for individual needs before and once the tour begins.
We’re sorry that the day didn’t fully meet your expectations, but we’re confident that the tour was delivered exactly as described and with care for all participants, also by looking at the other reviews of the same people in your group.
I will kindly invite you to remove this review since 2 stars it’s a very unfair rating after complaining about things that are written everywhere, hope you will reconsider and understand.

Excellent 2 hour tour of Pompeii with guide, transportation to winery and delicious lunch with wine tasting (only a few tables at winery; not crowded). Fun!

One word…FRANKIE! This is the guide you want. Despite the pouring down rain, this tour was exactly the way to see Pompeii. Frankie took us on a trip through history. He was fun, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii and many more parts of Roman history. He didn’t just show us the ruins, he helped us understand what it was like at that time in history.
I would book any tour with Frankie again!
We did the wine dinner afterwards and we were so glad we did. It’s a charming little winery family owned at the bottom of Vesuvius. After dark, Vesuvius gave quite a show in the moonlight. Giuseppe and Sophia hosted a great dinner and pairing.
Our drivers were incredible. I don’t know how they do it, but we managed it there and back in big vans and not one scratch.

We had a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about Pompei and was also funny as well as informative. Our driver picked us up on time and he was terrific as well. The wine tour was great - sampled 4 wines and had a lovely lunch at the vineyard. Met some fun people and it was overall a great day! Definitely recommend.
