Claudia was magnificent! We did a private tour with her with us and two friends. She was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us tons of details and information on Pompeii that we would have otherwise had no idea. Although we visited in middle of October, still busy but Claudia did an incredible job of navigating the crowds and knowing exactly how to get around them and which areas to get to before the crowds. She was also very friendly and personable. If visiting, this tour is a must and Claudia was amazing! 10 out of 10, would highly recommend! Thank

We had two hours in Pompeii and I've thought about them every day since. This was not a guide reciting dates to a crowd. It was a walking history class taught by someone with a real scholar's command of the material, delivered the way National Geographic delivers it, where you don't notice you're being taught because you're too busy leaning in.
Daniela reads Pompeii the way a great field naturalist reads a forest. Nothing is background. A rut in the stone, a doorway, a scorch line, and suddenly you're standing in someone's actual afternoon in the year 79. She knew which stones were worth stopping at and which questions were worth chasing, and she paced two hours so that we came away having seen a city rather than a checklist of ruins.
I'm forty years into a career where I have sat through more presentations than I can count. Very few people are genuinely excellent at their craft. Daniela is.
If you're weighing the group tour against the private one, stop weighing. Book her.

We were travelling with our three kids (10, 12 and 15), and Daniela did an amazing job of tailoring the tour to keep them (and us) interested and engaged. She knew what stories and details would grab their attention and made Pompeii come alive for them rather than just feeling like a long history lesson.
She was also incredibly thoughtful about the summer heat, finding shade whenever possible, giving us opportunities to take breaks, and planning our route so that everyone stayed comfortable. She knew the site extremely well and was great at navigating the bigger crowds.
That turned out to be especially valuable when we arrived. There were multiple cruise ships in port and a HUGE line of people waiting to enter Pompeii. Thanks to Daniela, we were able to completely bypass it and get right into the site — which alone probably saved us a ton of time standing around in the heat.
Daniela was knowledgeable, friendly, great with the kids. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone visiting Pompeii. Having a private guide was absolutely worth the money and made our visit so much better than it would have been on our own.
The tour with Silvia was bespoke to us, there was only myself and my partner and she was very attentive. she is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her tours and this was evident throughout , we thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was the best thing we did in Italy! Daniela was a fabulous tour guide. Her love of Pompeii history was infectious. She was so knowledgeable. Without her we would have not been able to fully understand what we were seeing as walked around the ruins. I highly recommend a private tour with her if you are visiting Pompeii.
Claudia is a great story teller and guide - the private tour was very informative and engaging. Hopefully we will have a chance to do it again for different parts of Pompeii soon.
Visiting Pompeii was wonderful, and I learned a lot about what had happened with Mount Vesuvius and the people of Pompeii so many years ago. Our guide, Carmine, was outstanding explained everything in simple terms answered all of our questions and even engaged my five-year-old nephew. I would highly recommend taking a tour guide through this location as there are so much information to ascertain which would be difficult without assistance. The site is much larger than I expected and I would recommend this to anyone going to this area.
Daniela was absolutely delightful. Her extensive knowledge of archeology really brought life into the city of Pompeii and our tour. She had so many insights that we would have missed if we had gone on our own. We had some slower members of the group who were t sure they would be able to come, but she was able to adapt to their pace and give us a fantastic tour that exceeded everyone’s expectations. I would absolutely book again! An absolute highlight of our Italy trip. I want to come back and have her take us for an even deeper dive into the region!

This private tour was an absolute standout highlight of our trip. Alona was our private tour guide and we felt so privileged to have her leading the way. Not only was Alona deeply educated and knowledgeable about all aspects of Pompeii, she was also very personable, warm, and easily adapted the tour to the topics that specifically piqued our interest.
The tour was brim full of so many fascinating details, I learned far more than I expected to. I found myself having a very emotional reaction to the entire experience, and even cried a few times and embarrassed my teenage daughter! Haha
It is 1000% worth booking the private tour rather than a “small” group tour. Alona was wonderful at steering us away from the and made every bit of our experience more intimate so that we could fully absorb what we were learning.
Pompeii is an enormous archeological site, impossible to cover everything in one visit. I am already planning my next visit and can’t wait to return!

Carmine was absolutely fantastic! Despite not being told in advanced, a member of our party had mobility restrictions, but he made adjustments and moved at a great pace. His stories and insights were truly incredible and made Pompeii come to life! This was a dream come true adventure for us all and we were not disappointed! Well worth it!
We did a three hour private tour of the Pompeii ruins with Alona. She was just incredible, and her passion for the stories, the homes, and the people were apparent. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the homes and the people who lived in the city. I highly recommend her!

I’ve visited Pompeii several times before, but this visit was the best! It began even before we arrived. Our guide, Daniela, contacted us beforehand to make sure we had bought our tickets and to verify our travel plans and meeting point. Being a private tour of 4 people, she was able to navigate around the larger groups and bypass much of the crowds while still seeing the highlights of Pompeii. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We appreciated her flexibility and tailoring the tour to meet our interests and needs. We learned not just about the ruins, but also history of Pompeii and Rome. Although the price of a private/small group tour is a bit more expensive, we highly recommend it instead of a large group tour. And if you are lucky enough to get Daniela – you will have an extra special day!
Daniela, our guide, was amazing. There are two prongs that make a successful visit to a famous site with a guide. Knowledge of the site and understanding visitors' needs. Daniela knows Pompeii through years of experience. She walked us through very interesting areas of the city, pointing out details, big and small, that kept us engaged. She also read the room with our family. We were somewhat limited on time and knew the heat might be a concern. She customized our visit and made us feel heard and welcomed. I could not recommend her more.
We toured Pompeii with Vincenzo and he was absolutely fantastic. It can sometimes be a challenge to keep a whole family fully engaged in a historical site for hours but Vincenzo managed it effortlessly. He brought the ruins to life with incredible stories, deep historical knowledge and a great sense of humor. He knew exactly how to navigate the crowds and showed us hidden gems we would have completely missed on our own. If you want a guide who makes history fascinating for all ages, ask for Vincenzo! Legend! 10/10 would recommend!

We deliberately chose to do this tour with a private guide. It not cheap but for us it was worth it. If youre not an historian or archeologist and just want the lowdown of what happened then this is perfect. Just around 2 hours and we saw the main highlights of Pompeii. Many people just wanted to wander round on their own but they were constantly needing directions (from our guide of where this or that is located!) Daniela (our guide) was perfect. Excellent English and such a fun style. She made Pompeii come alive and we could imagine ourselves "back in the day"! We drove ourselves there (from Sorento). Parked for €10. Excelleny half day excursion.

We had a great tour with Alona! We covered so much ground while not getting exhausted - the tour was the perfect length and she provided so much background without it feeling like too much. Also, I tripped early in the tour and Alona brought medical support over right away so I could enjoy the rest of the tour. Highly recommend this experience!
Angela was exceptional. She knew the areas of Pompeii that are most of interest and could help us navigate the vast site with ease. She showed us a wide variety of sights and was able to help our teenage children to connect what they already know about the Romans to what they were seeing and experiencing. Her English was superb and she was very friendly.
Having visited Pompeii before with a large group, I knew firsthand how indispensable an experienced guide is. It's an enormous site, you could spend days exploring, and simply walking around looking at things without context is a missed opportunity.
