What are people saying about Pompeii

Amazing!
Our guide RAFFAELE was amazing!! He was extremely kind as we had difficulties finding the group at the meeting spot he waited for us and was easygoing about the situation as we felt very stressed for being late he assured us not to worry. He was very knowledgeable about Pompeii and included a few small bits of humour which kept it light and interesting. He also tried to get us in as much shade as possible as the day was very hot. Thank you RAFFAELE !!! <3

Antonio was an excellent guide
Antonio was an excellent guide, explaining things clearly including the options at end of the tour. He also involved different members of the group by asking questions and asking them to demonstrate such as how the road would have been crossed when it was raining.

Informative walking tour! This is one you don’t want to miss!
My wife and I just concluded a nearly two week vacation in Europe. We spent time in London, Rome, and Salerno, and did a ton of sightseeing and tours. The Pompeii tour is definitely one of the biggest highlights of the trip!
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the site (both its ancient history and current digging efforts). I highly recommend this tour to everyone!

Wheelchair Tourist
I use a manual wheelchair full time. The first thing to say is Pompeii is accessible enough and if you can, do a private tour. Your guide will walk you thru the accessible spots and you'll spend less time back tracking. The streets are crowded and our guide worked with the other guides to clear a path whenever we came up to a crowd. You will need some upper body strength to move thru all of pompeii. It was much easier with my Free Wheel that kept my front wheels elevated. Without it a lot of wheelies would be needed.
Second, if you don't use a wheelchair, still get a private tour if you can! We learned so much and the time flew by, guided by Claudia. She had so many interesting stories about the places, the history, and had a passion for it all that was infectious. We did a 3hr tour and we ended arou.d the center of town but did cover a ton in that time. After lunch my wife and I explored on our own, and with the lessons Claudia provided, we could see so much more than if we were on our own all day. It was such an amazing experience!

Knew different routes to take to avoid other groups
Wine tasting and meal were lovely experience. The wine on one was very new - which wasn’t great tasting but the whole experience and the staff were amazing and very professional

Visiting Pompeii was an...
Visiting Pompeii was an unforgettable experience. Walking through the ancient ruins felt like stepping back in time, and it was incredible to see how much of the city is still preserved. Every street, building, and detail told a story, and it really made history feel real in a way books can’t capture.

Awesome day to Pompei & Sorrento
Great experience with Jack and Numo as our drivers / guides. Both guys were fantastic and helped make the day very memorable. The breakfast and lunch were great. The guided tour with Erica to the archeological site in Pompei was very interesting and informative. The drive along the Sorrento coastline was beautiful,, and a few stops along the way for great photos. One can’t go wrong paying a little bit more for a memorable tour like this one. Highly recommended

Exactly what we were...
Exactly what we were looking for. Meeting place was clear, tour guide (Enzo) was passionate and engaging, leading us to all the key highlights of the ruins, as well as giving us tips for our own continued exploration after the tour. We were so glad we booked this!

Good tour
This is a very exertional hike up Mt Vesuvius and the uneven ground in both locations are challenging for anyone with mobility issues. However, it was great day, the archaeologist was very informative and the hiking guide very cautious and attentive. It was basically like two different tours and after the archaeologist left us in the ruins area, we had to find our way back to the front, try to find food and restrooms on our own before meeting the afternoon hike guide.

Eliana and Pompei- perfect bucket list experience
Ever wait your whole life to see something, only to fear the experience won't live up to the hype? For me, that was Pompeii. I'd been waiting since grade school to walk those streets.
I'd hyped myself with visions of ornate beauty. But that was tempered by the math. Pompeii at its peak was home to nearly 20,000 people. Today, with huge portions of the city still unexcavated, there are typically that many tourists or more all jostling to see the same things.
I braced for the worst.
Thankfully, my wife hired Eliana Sandretti as our guide. Confident, easy going, and carrying more knowledge than any one person should reasonably possess, she managed to make it feel like we nearly had the city to ourselves.
She steered us through the ruins and around the tourist chokepoints without ever making us feel rushed or stalled. The tour moved at our pace. She took time early on to understand what mattered to us, then built the experience around that.
Her eye for detail — sharpened through years as a working archaeologist — consistently surfaced things we would have walked right past. Even more compelling were the stories she told about the people: how they lived, and how they died.
By the end, you'll find yourself glancing uneasily at Mt. Vesuvius, quietly hoping today isn't the day it decides to finish the job.

Pompeii
Italo was a fantastic guide for 2 hours around Pompeii. Very relaxed, humorous and knowledgeable. Went by train from Sant Agnello which took about 50 minutes. Went in April. Wouldn’t like to visit in summer though. I expect it would be difficult to get around

Highlight of my holiday
We had a great time on our private tour around Pompeii with Italo- he was a brilliant guide, really knew his stuff and had a nice relaxed style too. Obviously the site is massive so we didn’t get to see everything on the tour, but we saw some of the main headlines and it helped having a guide to point out all of the little details that you’d easily miss on your own. Once the tour was completed Italo left us in the forum area and showed us how the grid system worked and that meant that we could use the map provided to go and see other bits of the site that the tour hadn’t included. A great experience.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Pompeii is one of Italy’s most popular attractions, and the well-preserved buildings and roads of the city can give you a greater understanding of ancient Rome. Don’t miss out while in Italy—there are Pompeii day trips you can take from Naples or Rome, so you have a bit of flexibility with your itinerary. Some day-trip options pair Pompeii with another destination, such as the Amalfi Coast or the island of Capri, and some include an expert guide to help you make sense of the site's history.
