What are people saying about Naples

Our Pompeii guided tour from Naples turned out to be an unexpectedly special experience. We booked the late afternoon option, which ended up being far less crowded than earlier time slots—something we’d highly recommend. Due to a few last-minute cancellations, my wife and I ended up having the entire tour to ourselves. We were initially worried the tour might be cancelled altogether, but thankfully it went ahead, and it felt like a private tour through history. Our guide, Frankie, was outstanding. His knowledge of Pompeii was incredibly deep, and he communicated everything clearly in excellent English. He answered all of our questions with patience and insight, adding context and stories that really brought the ruins to life. Exploring Pompeii in a quieter setting, with such a passionate and engaging guide, made the experience feel personal and immersive. It’s something we’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommended!

Day in the past
Easy to find host, she has a red flag at the end of stick. Good pick up location, easy to get to and very visible. Good pace, easy to understand the English. Great guides. The restaurant they stop for at lunch is very good. Fantastic view and you can have an all inclusive meal with starter, pasta main, desert, water and wine (20euros in 2026) or you can do your own thing. We really had a good tour of pompei. Went there first and it wasn't as crowded. We went in April and couldn't see the theater because it was already being set up for summer performances but the guide showed us pictures on his phone of the venue in action. A lot of walking but not too bad. I am a bigger girl and I made it up the volcano in an hour. Wear good shoes, going down is very slippery. 10 out of 10 would recomend.

Worth it
The views from Vesuvius were absolutely stunning. However, I would have appreciated more insight into the geology and geography, as this wasn’t included in the tour. The pizza for lunch was delicious, the limoncello tasting was food. Finally, the guided tour of Pompeii was a highlight, engaging and informative. Extending it by another hour would have made it even better.

Walking Tour of Naples
Met Diane at a meeting point close to the Cruise Terminal, fairly close to our hotel. Diane is an informative guide and we had a full value morning in her company, lots of interesting sites and information. Tour is approximately 4 miles in length and includes stairs so I wouldn't recommend for anyone who needs assistance with walking. Diane speaks several languages and her English was excellent. Occasionally a little difficult to hear when then was a lot of background noise but this didn't detract from the overall tour. Would benefit from Bluetooth earpieces perhaps? Would certainly recommend the tour and Diane was more than willing to impart her knowledge of the City and its history.
