It was just the two of us and our wonderful guide, Sharon. She had great passion for the history of Old Napoli and how the art and architecture was shaped by the people and history. She was knowledgeable and personable and had a wonderful sense of humor. We really felt like we got to know a bit of real Napoli - can’t recommend it (or Sharon) enough

Only us and the tour guide so it was very close and personal. A little disconcerting when guide left us for the undergound. We weren't sure what was going on and after waiting a while we had to ask what was happening. Really enjoyed the undergound tour to see water in the cisterns and squeeze sideways through the narrow tunnel sections.

Guide walked faster than we could keep up or at least wanted to keep up between the crowd and wanting to take pictures. There were four couples including us and we were the slowest. By the time we caught up at a stop we had missed most of the guides talk. I had a hard time hearing the guide over the crowd noise outside or when he was talking softly in a church. Last we did not realize the underground portion had some narrow spaces. My wife read on another description of the underground. She asked the guide if it was claustrophobic. He said yes, so she did not want to go in. We left the tour at that point. I was surprised that the stops for coffee and pastry was at our own cost. Not a big deal just surprised. Could have done with a slower pace skipping the coffee and pastry and getting time to take pictures.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! An excellent way to get to know Napoli and all it has to offer. From the handmade street markets to the underground tunnels, this fascinating and fast paced tour gave us a great introduction to the city sights, sounds and its history. Both guides were outstanding, and their commentary was not only information but entertaining as well. If you only book one tour in Naples, make it this one!

Similar to the food tour but without the food. Guide left us at the underground entrance and we were told we needed to pay for tickets because they weren’t included, despite them being included in the description. Do the food tour instead.

The problem was it took an hour to get to the meeting place. We also never saw the only thing we wanted to see. The underground part was completely overwhelmed by tourists. The guide was excellent but the plan was flawed.

The meeting place is a bit difficult to find for visitors, but the trip is interesting. We are all exciting while walking through those narrow long tunnels. The guild was good and gave us enough information to understand the underground world of Napoli. Worth to visit!

Not properly advertised

There are two Underground Tours in Naples, both starting from the same Piazza. The above picture is used by the other tour as a lead picture. It is not seen on the tour sold by this presentation. Indeed, we were sold a tour including a pizza only to discover the pizza location was not open on Wednesday. To make matters worse, the on-site tour operator sent us across town to another pizza place, which was also closed on Wednesday. Based on the problems, Viator did refund the tour cost. Thank you - but others should be aware of the misrepresentation in the tour itself and the pizza place being closed on Wednesday.

Delightfully fun tour and worth seeing. There are a lot of steps and some tight passages, so be aware that you need to be comfortable climbing all the steps, okay in the dark and able to get through tight spots. The only thing I would change is that our group was right in front a group of school children. The children were loud at times and would push ahead to border our group - making it hard to hear our guide at times or enjoy the setting. I suggest that if school groups are going, there be more space between them and other groups - also maybe they need more chaperones to ensure the students are respectful of others.

Well organised and very interesting. Our guide was excellent. This is a very popular tour and there were lots of other groups going round at the same time as ours. The lighting was atmospheric and gave a real sense of what it would have been like to work and live in the tunnels and caverns. Really enjoyed it.
