  • Pompeii tickets – ID requirement: It is mandatory for all participants to carry a valid photo ID on the day of the tour. The personal details provided at the time of booking (e.g. first and last name) must exactly match those on the ID, as Pompeii tickets are nominative and non-transferable. Local staff at the archaeological site are entitled to check IDs at the entrance. In case of discrepancies, spelling errors or missing information, they may refuse entry to one or more participants at their sole discretion. Discover Italy cannot be held responsible for any refusal of entry due to incorrect or incomplete data provided by the participants, and no refund will be due in such cases.
  • Weather, clothing and itinerary: The tour runs in all weather conditions; we recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a light jacket and an umbrella. Any waiting times during stops (for explanations, security checks, traffic or photo opportunities) may occur and are not dependent on the organization. The guide in Pompeii and our local staff in Naples reserve the right to modify or adjust the itinerary if necessary for operational or safety reasons (for example due to traffic jams, road closures or unexpected events).
  • Timing and punctuality: Please arrive at the meeting point at least 5 minutes before the scheduled tour departure time. Tours and transportation services must leave on schedule to guarantee the full experience and on-time return to the ship. A maximum waiting time of 15 minutes is allowed in case of participant delays. After this time, staff may leave the meeting point and begin the tour. Participants not present will be considered NO SHOW and no refund will be due.
  • Contact information & WhatsApp: To ensure smooth meet & greet operations, we strongly recommend that at least one participant provides a mobile phone number that is active and reachable in Italy. We also highly recommend using WhatsApp. Discover Italy cannot be held responsible if participants are unreachable. When contacting us, please provide your name, ship name, and tour title.

Very expensive tour for what was seen. Pompeii very interesting and guide was very knowledgeable. The drive there had no commentary and the driving tour around Naples was not very informative. Not a good value tour

Hello, this is a group tour and as all shared tour guides must be focused on the guests requests. As the Pompeii Part of the tour is completely focused on the Roman history, the part of Naples is more flexible as Naples history is various and we try to meet the needs of the majority of the group: Preferisci sapere della storia della pizza e mangiarne una? con noi puoi! Are you not interested and want to know more about the history of the civilizations that dominated Naples? Ask and we will tell you! Do you want to know where to shop because you don't care about history? We do this too! Given that our records do not show that you booked our tour through Viator, so for this reason alone, we should investigate. But anyway, Naples is the most varied city and full of things to see and do that exists in Italy, in 2 hours of city tour our task is to please the majority of the group. In Italy we say: "ask and it will be given to you" That’s it!

Amazing Pompeii

We only had 2 hours in Pompeii. And the main areas were not on the agenda: Lupanare, domus' with amazing frescos and mosaics and the large arena. We decided to skip the Napoli tour and stay in Pompeii....great decision. We walked around at our leisure and hit everything we wanted to see. The tour description should be more precise.

Dear, the usual tour of Pompeii is a two-hour visit with a guide, and it is indicated, we do not skip anything in the planned itineraries unless there are restoration works in progress, Pompeii as well as Herculaneum and many archaeological sites, are often subject to restoration work, if the guide is unable to take you inside the places foreseen in the description it is only for reasons of this kind because otherwise we always respect what we promised to our customers. Too hot to walk but enjoyed pompeii

Fabio wasn't very visable with name Viator on him but eventually we found him, good knowledge of pompeii, very informative & helpful with answering questions. At end of tour back at Naples we were all hot (temp was 29 degrees!!) & few of us didn't want to walk anymore. Found out bus wasn't going back to port so had to get off, wouldn't take us back even tho it was only a few streets away. Tour description said it ended back at port, didn't say more walking. I went back on my own as I was ill. Otherwise we enjoyed it very much.

The tour spent the 1st hour collecting other guests from all over the city so it didn’t kick off at the time we expected. The actual guide and time at Pompeii was good, he was funny and engaging. The bus on the way home did not have air con, despite this being mentioned on the tour. We also did not cover any of Naples, only Pompeii. Wouldn’t recommend this tour as a whole.

Dear, as for pick ups, those are absolutely normal on shared tours, if you are not willing to wait for other guests you should book a private tour in which case you don't have to wait any longer but leave directly. Having said that, you knew that you would only do Pompeii before the tour, we explained the reasons to you and you accepted without hesitation, also taking back part of the cost, we are honest, if a service for reasons that do not depend on us between the anything else, we cannot guarantee it and we know it in advance, we certainly don't leave the customer in the shadows and he discovers it the same day, in fact we were correct in telling you beforehand and giving you a partial refund, we don't know why if you know the reason why, then leave a review like that, when we have acted in the most correct way possible. In any case, we look forward to seeing you again in Italy for further experiences. Best regards

This was worth it. It took me a while to find the guy even though he had a sign with my name on it as stated; it was a little chaotic (not his fault). I really appreciated the tour of San Gennaro. It was very important to me, and this was the only tour I could find that offered it. I was worried about the short length of being at Pompeii, but honestly after an hour and a half in the heat, I was so ready to leave. It was plenty of time, though technically it isn't "enough" time to see the whole thing, it was great. It was a bit chaotic as we got passed from one small group for San Gennaro into the larger group for the ride back to the port, but the people really did know what they were doing and were incredibly organized even though they didn't really communicate that organization to the people. Compared to our other experiences in Italy, I would recommend this tour.
