I was admittedly both excited and also dreading this tour, given the content I knew it would contain. In spite of this, Josh was a magnanimous tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable, and very engaging. I suspect he himself may be a time traveler, given his expansive intelligence around this tragic topic and his incredible book of photos and propaganda. He made space for the heaviness of the conversation and conveyed information with insight, remorse, and applicable context around the city, citing multiple landmarks and relevant motifs all over Munich. While I typically only book tours on vacation that contain levity and light entertainment, I’m grateful for the knowledge perspective Josh provided while also showing the beauty and tenacity of Germany.

I had such a fantastic experience on this walking tour! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable. The pace was perfect, with plenty of opportunities to take in the sights, ask questions, and snap photos. I especially appreciated the little details and local insights that you wouldn’t get exploring on your own. It’s clear a lot of thought and care goes into creating this experience. I’d highly recommend this walking tour to anyone looking to explore the area in a memorable and meaningful way. I’d absolutely do it again! Please bear in mind the tour was 4 hours long though not 3 hours according to Viator which is who I booked with.

Excellent, well-paced tour. Our tour guide, Hein, was extremely knowledgable on the history of the Dacau concentration camp and the various camp structures within the Third Reich. Hearing stories of horrible conditions in the Dacau concentration camp was heartbreaking and seeing remnant of actual camp facilities spurred deep reflection on this horrible time in history. We recommend this tour.

We had Jessie as our tour guide and WOW! The best most friendly, knowledgeable guide we have we had in any country, and we have been all over Europe. She made friends with every person on our tour! Detailed and conscientious of everyone’s speed, language barriers etc. Jessie answered every question to the point and without rhetoric or fairy tale stories! When we booked the excursion we thought “maybe six hours is too long?” Jessie made it seem like the day breezed by.
