Josh, the guide, is a very knowledgable person and treated everyone with respect. It was an eye-opening, informative, grounding experience. Guide was there to answer questions and not rushing. Not much walking, there is so much to discover right in the central area.

Enjoyable walking tour by knowledgeable guide. Start point easily found and end point near underground train

Josh was wunderbar! He explained the plain truth, difficult facts to discuss. The tour covered many key Nazi landmarks all within walking distance. So much better on foot than on a bus or in a video. Describes the Allied involvement as liberation from evil. Excellent tour! Do this tour!

Josh was an absolutely excellent tour guide. While he demanded undivided attention, you could see his dedication and knowledge of the subject as he took us through an amazing walking tour. He was very forthcoming to answer questions and I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to understand this dark chapter of German history.

This tour was like a college class on the history of the early Nazi development. Josh was extremely knowledgeable and had skills in engaging his audience. We were thoroughly impressed with him and would highly recommend this educational tour!!

This is not an easy subject, but was done with honesty and empathy. It confirmed, for us, that the Third Reich was not a representation of the German society today and historically.

A serious and insightful look into critical history about Mùnchen, everywhere you walk there are traces of where the Nazis had been before. Our guide Josh stressed that things can change and a nation can change I would recommend it. Unfortunately on my day, it was pouring with rain, my only recommendation when booking a walking tour would be to check the weather first.

Josh was a great guide. Time flew by learning about this sad history. I enjoyed the context he gave beyond what you hear in the documentaries.

This tour is a must for any Munich visit. It must not be missed.
Why?
Josh brings Munich to life. He shines a light on recent history’s darkest moment. Not only does he answer “how did Hitler and the Nazis come to power and execute their evil plans,” but he makes it an incredibly engaging, clarifying, and provocative story. And he does it with a history professor’s professionalism and the story telling ability of a master novelist.
It’s the most educational, engaging and enjoyable tour I’ve taken.

Josh is such a knowledgeable and passionate guide. He is also interested in his tour group and takes the time to meet and greet you all individually.
We learned so much more than what is written in history books.
We would 100% recommend this tour with Josh.

Josh was great very informative and a good sense of humor, saw some very historical places was glad I did it.
Daniel_L, Aug 2026
Josh was extremely insightful and as a historian made me think deeply about what I previously thought may have led to the rise of the Nazi party. Me and my brother have not stopped talking about the tour over many beers since. If you want to know about the dark history of this wonderful city. Josh is your man. He pulls no punches and is refreshing in his honesty on how his nation succumbed to radicalism.

Great 2.5 hour tour around Munich! Aileen was a great guide. We recommend this as we learned several new things!
Hendy_D, Aug 2026
Josh was a fascinating tour guide and knows his stuff! I learned about the rise of the Nazi Party in Munich and got to see where it all happened. Very interesting! It was an aspect of WWII I knew very little about.
Lisa_M, Aug 2026
Josh was an amazing guide and really provided a lot of historical understanding and thought provoking details for further informatiob. It was plus 32 degrees and he did fabulous at finding shade for all of his talks. It was a large group but he had excellent facilitation and ability to ensure we could all hear and see. Highly recommend the tour! Thank you Josh!
Katherine_D, Aug 2026
Josh was awesome. Very knowledgeable and engaging. The pace was good and we definitely got a good overview. There was time to take pictures and ask questions. Would definitely recommend!
Diego_r, Aug 2026
Very informative tour! Josh has a way of presenting the history of the Reich in a great way that is eye-opening and with great context. We saw some important historical sites, but this tour is more informative than just seeing some buildings. You can tell he has great knowledge and passion for the subject.
Amy_S, Aug 2026
Josh gave extremely in depth review of how the National Socialist party rose to power in Munich and its impact on Bavaria.
Alan_M, Aug 2026
Josh is very knowledgeable & passionate about this topic. He left us with the importance that history must not repeat.
Alexander_B, Aug 2026
An amazing experience! Josh is amazing historian and storyteller. I knew quite a lot about WWII and the Nazi regime, but I learned more than I knew from this tour.
Highly recommend!
Deborah_E, Aug 2026
In all honesty, the group was way too big and it was very hard to hear him speak. He carried on way too long and repeated himself too often and didn’t move on quickly enough. Standing around for way too long made it a little boring.
Daniel_F, Aug 2026
Josh was very knowledgeable and a nice guy. He made the tour inclusive for everyone ensuring folks could hear, see pictures, etc. I would definitely recommend.
Andrew_H, Aug 2026
Josh was our tour guide whose passion and depth of knowledge for the subject held our attention for the entire tour, we could have continued on for hours. It was an incredibly insightful, respectful and sensitively treated topic. Seeing these historically famous sites blew us away-sometimes because of how ordinary they were, being directly out of proportion to their historical and global significance. The treatment of the tour meant so much on many levels. Josh was incredible.
Khalilah_T, Jul 2026
Tour was very informative, didn’t actually include too much walking (just the right amount), and guide (Josh) provided resources to keep learning.
Charles_W, Jul 2026
Good historical background on rise of Third Reich with real landmarks. Lots of walking, so be prepared
Luiz_G, Jul 2026
Was a great walking tour with Josh, full of history related to the third reich, how it started and how it ended.
Denise_M, Jul 2026
Overall, decent enough tour, i felt it lasted a bit longer than necessary, my own opinion. I could have left earlier, but was travelling with another and didn't want to detract from their experience.
Jack_D, Jul 2026
Josh was animated, and well informed. I enjoyed seeing the historical pictures he brought, and how he would emphasize a point to learn from history. I highly recommend this tour
NeilAlexander_B, Jul 2026
They need to be interested in history ideally but the guide, with personal anecdotes, made it very accessible.
Neil_O, Jul 2026
There was no mention of 'the Holocaust' in the title or description of this tour, but it was almost the sole focus of our guide Josh who lectured us at tedious & tendentious length, literally going back to ancient history to background a topic we had not signed up for. Consequently, numerous places - and events connected with them - promised in the tour description (Königsplatz, Feldherrnhalle, the Hofgarten) were omitted through lack of time.
