Extremely Disappointed!

I have taken numerous Hop On Hop Off Bus Tours both across the United States and internationally. This was the most disappointed experience I have ever had with them. Maybe Munich just doesn't have enough attractions to make the tour beneficial or maybe many of the great attractions are centrally located within a small walking distance which reduces the advantages of a hop on hop off bus. I took the City Tour. To start with, we sat in an extremely hot bus without the air conditioning running for approximately 20 minutes. Once we did get started, the route followed was not the one identified on the map. I was planning to initially get off the bus at Stop 2, which should have been a very short ride. However on the route the bus followed, we rode around without any stops for approaximately 30 minutes. And what was identified on the map as Stop 2 was actually Stop 1. The audio commentary was minimal and of little interest - much of it was filled with music. We primarily drove around city streets, stopping at about every stop light along the route. The air conditioning on the bus was all but non-existant making for sweltering conditions. There was no air moving inside the bus. I was never so happy to finally be able to exit the bus and walk on my own. I would NOT recommend this tour. I felt it was a complete waste of money.

We took advantage of all three tours. What a great collection of opportunities to see around town. The automated system was down in the morning and staff were graciously and efficiently managing things. The third tour was significantly delayed in the afternoon, And staff assurances that the tour would start in 10 minutes where multiple times off. It was a bit uncomfortable standing and waiting in the sun during an unseasonable heatwave. Even so, very glad we did this.

Worst bus tour we’ve been on. They didn’t have an app or anything I could find online to tell where the stops were. That meant we had to pay for a taxi to the original office. We did the city tour and it was not good. Only thing worth seeing was the palace. They explained after the fact there were multiple routes. I’d just combine and do one route getting rid of the useless stops.

Nice service and coverage around town

Great experience overall, convent location for all the 3 lines from Munich station. The English garden location time .. you need to keep a watch on. We ended up taking uber to go back to hotel. However there are many restaurants around if you go further and spend time there to catch your next bus. The busss have covers to save you from Rain!! And that’s saved our time to continue to use the bus while it was drizzling and cold.

Easy way to get around and see the City Sites.

This is a great way to see Munich and it makes it easier to hop off at points of interest. There are three routes just make sure that you are back on the last bus they stop running at 500pm. They give you headphones and you can listen to different languages while you are riding around the city of Munich.

This was a good way to see areas of the city. We only went on 2 of the 3 routes as we were tired of riding on the bus. We only got off at the Olympic Park site where we walked around the site.

Lots of stops in good locations. They were on time and reliable. However a 24 hour bus ticket is really only 7 or 8 hours as they don't start running until 10 or 10:30 am and stop at 5 pm. They need to run later.

Easy To Find, Informative for a First Day Tour

The location was easy to find, the people were helpful, and the trip was fast. It was a good first day tour to see where we would like to go on our "easy" and "explore" days of the city. We took the train to Hauptbanhoff, and it was another 5 min walk to their location. You can also take the street cars, where everything stops at their Hauptbanhoff (or equivalent to NYC's Central Station), and take the short walk to where the big red buses are parked by the sidewalk. There are eating places right as we finished and got off at the starting point.

Recommended for people who would like to tour around Munich without walking so much. However, exact location of the stops given will be good as i got myself lost while alighting at some random stop. Lucky managed to find a stop and back go the main station

We took the blue line to the English garden. The program said pick up is at 14:30. No bus ever came to get us. We had to walk 2 miles back to our hotel. This is unacceptable

Let down

Bought the 24 hour ticket for all three routes. No one told us the blue line wasn’t operating at full scale and was on a modified route. We walked to a pick up spot for the blue route and the bus never came- found out it was a modified route and there was no mention. Had to pay for an Uber to get us back. This was after we had gone to a red line pick up spot earlier in the morning and had to flag the bus down.

There are three bus lines, red (every 20 minutes) purple ( 30 minutes) and blue ( 1 hr). What I observed was, most buses met their scheduled arrival times, some buses were like 5-8 minutes late. There's this one driver who drove recklessly. I forgot to record the plate number

We did the city tour and the purple tour We enjoyed the sights We did not get off too much however on the purple tour there was a concern when we tried to get back on that there was no room Luckily got a seat would not have wanted to wait another hour
