We've done several of these type of tours and this was very basic. The check in driver had this “dont care” attitude and there was no interaction. In short, once you check in they give you disposable earbuds and you plug it into the seat, select your language and everything was automated. The pre-recorded narrator had a strong accent which was difficult to understand especially with the outside noise. Also, there are 3 different lines that go to different areas of the city. We started on the Red line and once it ended everyone got off expecting to change busses for a different line but it was the same bus so we had to reboard the same bus. A simple advisal from the driver would have save about 25 couples from getting off and back on. We were not impressed but it burned time. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great way to see some sights in Munich. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Buses were clean & stayed on schedule. Would highly recommend.

Worth to book all 3 routes if you have time. The only thing, make sure you find out ahead of time if you jump off when they are picking up at the spot again. Our driver said next bus was in 30 minutes and it was actually an hour. That is why gave it 4 stars vs 5. It was a great way to see the city.

We have had very good experiences using Hop on/Hop off bus in multiple cities. This particular experience was disappointing because the buses did not arrive at the times we had been told (60 minutes instead of 30) and the recording was not updated to reflect the fact that the Olympic Tower in the Olympic Village site of 1972 Olympics is closed and will be for a year! We had hoped to be able to go to the top for panoramic views. Otherwise this was a good way to see the highlights of the city.

Thank you for your feedback. The bus frequency is clearly stated when purchasing the ticket, so our 60-minute service should not come as a surprise. Unfortunately, it is technically impossible to update the audio guide for every temporary closure or renovation. We recommend checking current opening information online before visiting specific attractions.
Great experience, I highly recommend it to everyone to enjoy the beautiful highlights of the city. The atmosphere was amazing.

There are 3 buses going to different locations and they’re all included in one price. It was a very nice tour and the staff were great.
Was handy to have. We did all 3 tours in the one day and stayed on for the whole round trip to get our bearings and work out where we wanted to go back to. There was quite a bit of waiting around for the busses, they seems to advertise some as every 15 mins or so but they definitely weren't that. Sometimes when the blue line finishes its route it then changes to the purple line. But having said that busses were very comfortable, staff were helpful but just be prepared to wait a bit longer than you think. We used the 2nd day to go back to the places we wanted to see again.
First bus driver quite rude when we got on, I showed him our ticket and he didn’t say anything other than nodded to the headphones and laughed. Earphones only worked in one ear. Had to get off one bus at train station to join another one for the rest of the tour. The driver was very pleasant and cheerful. Tour was interesting and architecture was beautiful.

The hop on hop off tour is a great introduction to a city and gives you an idea of what can be explored more extensively. Munich tours offered concise commentary on multiple neighborhoods in multiple languages. This helped us to plan for subsequent days in the city.

Tour is fantastic, short enough to do both routes in under 2 hours and highly recommend as one of the first activities to complete upon arrival to Munich. Plenty of places are visited and the commentary provides some context as to what is around when passing through various parts of the city. Busses are ran efficiently, keep tabs on the schedules and you should be able to run both routes back to back without a problem. Easily an excellent starting point to get your bearings in the city if a first time visitor and the guides are available to answer questions and provide recommendations about different things to do at stops or near the starting point.
Can do 3 different tours. Our timing at Marienplatz worked out very well to se a Glockenspiel performance
Great way to see the city and learn about its history. A good thing to do early in the trip so you can get a good sense of the overall vibe and layout.
You see many parts of the city. Not a lot of photos oportunities unless you get off an explore the areas. Map could be better along with descriptions of what is at each stop.

Opt instead for specific guided tours if you are seeking 20th-century history of Munich!
Munich has a rich, if yet complex history, that was barely touched upon. Specific buildings were pointed out, but without context (e.g., Hofbräuhaus); absolutely zero mention of Hitler's Nazi movement having started in Munich - tragic history that bears at least a mention and context.

Very short tour not worthy . It is a busy city so the tour is maybe only 30 minutes the rest traffic.

We are very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience with us.There seems to be a misunderstanding. We do not operate any 30-minute tours.
I have taken numerous Hop On Hop Off Bus Tours both across the United States and internationally. This was the most disappointed experience I have ever had with them. Maybe Munich just doesn't have enough attractions to make the tour beneficial or maybe many of the great attractions are centrally located within a small walking distance which reduces the advantages of a hop on hop off bus.
I took the City Tour. To start with, we sat in an extremely hot bus without the air conditioning running for approximately 20 minutes. Once we did get started, the route followed was not the one identified on the map.
I was planning to initially get off the bus at Stop 2, which should have been a very short ride. However on the route the bus followed, we rode around without any stops for approaximately 30 minutes. And what was identified on the map as Stop 2 was actually Stop 1.
The audio commentary was minimal and of little interest - much of it was filled with music. We primarily drove around city streets, stopping at about every stop light along the route. The air conditioning on the bus was all but non-existant making for sweltering conditions. There was no air moving inside the bus.
I was never so happy to finally be able to exit the bus and walk on my own. I would NOT recommend this tour. I felt it was a complete waste of money.

Unfortunately, the past few days in Munich have been exceptionally hot. As a result, it was also very warm on our open-top double-decker buses. Since the upper deck is open, it naturally cannot be equipped with an air conditioning system.
Regarding the Odeonsplatz stop, we would also like to point out that this is Stop No. 2. Stop No. 1 is Munich Central Station, which is also the starting point of our tour.
Excellent way to see the entire city. Wished that it ran later into the evening.

We took advantage of all three tours. What a great collection of opportunities to see around town. The automated system was down in the morning and staff were graciously and efficiently managing things. The third tour was significantly delayed in the afternoon, And staff assurances that the tour would start in 10 minutes where multiple times off. It was a bit uncomfortable standing and waiting in the sun during an unseasonable heatwave. Even so, very glad we did this.

Worst bus tour we’ve been on. They didn’t have an app or anything I could find online to tell where the stops were. That meant we had to pay for a taxi to the original office. We did the city tour and it was not good. Only thing worth seeing was the palace. They explained after the fact there were multiple routes. I’d just combine and do one route getting rid of the useless stops.

Great experience overall, convent location for all the 3 lines from Munich station. The English garden location time .. you need to keep a watch on. We ended up taking uber to go back to hotel. However there are many restaurants around if you go further and spend time there to catch your next bus. The busss have covers to save you from Rain!! And that’s saved our time to continue to use the bus while it was drizzling and cold.

This is a great way to see Munich and it makes it easier to hop off at points of interest. There are three routes just make sure that you are back on the last bus they stop running at 500pm. They give you headphones and you can listen to different languages while you are riding around the city of Munich.

This was a good way to see areas of the city. We only went on 2 of the 3 routes as we were tired of riding on the bus. We only got off at the Olympic Park site where we walked around the site.

Lots of stops in good locations. They were on time and reliable. However a 24 hour bus ticket is really only 7 or 8 hours as they don't start running until 10 or 10:30 am and stop at 5 pm. They need to run later.
