Great castle tour and guide

This is a long but great day! The timing of the trip is good and our guide (Christine) was excellent. We had a beautiful day and this tour was a highlight of our time in Munich. Be sure to wear your best walking shoes and be able to go up and down many stairs and moderate inclines. The bus is great with fewer seats so plenty of room.

Highly Recommend This Tour and Guide

Franz, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, events, people, buildings, etc of that period and location. He was honest and graceful of his delivery of the information given the seriousness and emotion of the experience. Lessons that we all should understand, appreciate, and never allow to happen, again. I would highly recommend this tour (of course, as age appropriate) and Franz as the guide. The tour group who organized it was easy to work with, provided reminders and clear directions on where to meet, everyone we interacted with was friendly, and navigation from Munich to Dachau was easy and smooth with our guide’s help.

Great trip

I don’t remember our guides name but she was wonderful. Gave great historical context. You could tell she had a passion for the history. She also made it super easy to follow all the different meeting times by giving us a card we would take pictures of and follow in our own. I’m reluctant to do group tours but this one was good and didn’t feel like too much wasted time.

A nice trip with plans to return and see more

Do your own research before you get to Salzburg, because there is very little free time. So have a plan when the official tour ends so that you use your time wisely. We chose to eat lunch at the top of the fortress and walk around and we were out of time pretty quickly and had to head back to meet the group in the designated spot. One really needs two days at least in Salzburg to see everything.

Chancel is THE BEST guide ever!!!

Took this VIP tour on 7/17/26 with our AMAZING guide, Chancel- and it was incredible! She was so smart and savvy, funny, and had tons of drinks and snacks for us. Well worth it!

Definitely get to see and cover more on a bike tour. Great intro. to Munich. Mike's friendly, professional staff are amazing. I got totally lost and was very late. So grateful to the office lady who kindly turned my diaster into a very positive experience. She organised a staff member to lead me to the tour that was already underway. Bob, tour leader, was welcoming & very infomative regarding Munich's past/present history. We were quite a large group, Bob taught bike lane protocol, crossing safety & guided us well along bike lanes & streets. Glad to have been able to do this excursion with Mikes Bike tours. Well worth doing!

We had a great day on our tour visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The Castle is stunning! Well worth the additional admission fee to go inside! Charlie our tour guide was fantastic, so knowledgeable of the local area and knew all his history not just about the Castle and Munich but also about the Bavarian Royal family. We highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Charlie as your guide you are sure to be in for a history lesson too!

Amazing guide for an amazing city

Our guide, Leon, was a wonderful navigator and was also very knowledgeable regarding his beautiful city. We were only in the city for a few days and we finished our tour with a recommended list of places to eat and places to explore. I couldn’t recommend this activity enough, especially if you’re a history geek or just want to touch the surface of what Munich has to offer!
