What are people saying about Madeira

Highly recommended
So worth doing. Diogo was amazing, perfect English, very chatty, knowledgeable and super proud of his island. He slightly altered the tour to adapt to the weather so that we had the best experience. Can’t recommend highly enough. He also does airport transfers so we booked him for those too. Thank you Diogo!

Wonderful and Engaging Experience
John S. Is an exceptional guide who took us to a variety of interesting stops during our four hour tour. We particularly enjoyed his knowledge of history, the island’s unique characteristics and even the local flora. We found the tour to be an excellent value and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anybody. It’s worth noting for cruise ship guests you will be afforded pick up right at the terminal.

Definitely book this tour!
We had an amazing time on this tour with Marco. We were able to customize our itinerary, and pick up time. Marco was able to make changes on the fly regarding the weather and safety. We very much enjoyed the tour and it was a great introduction to the west side of the island. We also felt very safe with Marco's driving. Many of the roads were narrow and parking wasn't always readily available. We felt this was a way better alternative. FYI it would probably be cheaper to book directly with the vendor.

Wine &food tour in Funchal is fantastic!
Interesting tour in Funchal with a very competent guide!
Info about buildings and places, combined with tasting food, cakes, fruit and different things to drink gives a special touch of the city and Madeira.. The tour was very well organized!
Thanks for letting us know Funchal in this way!

Nice way to spend an afternoon
Very informative. Takes you to several parts of the island that you couldn’t get to walking on your own. Guide is very responsive. Experience the local drink ( your cost) and the glass overlook where you can see for miles (again your cost).
The four wheel part of the excursion is on a road that isn’t a road. It is barely a track. You will be jarred to the bone for a few minutes. Some people find that exhilarating. Others not so much. If you are taking this tour, be prepared and be ready so you don’t sit and complain and ruin everyone else’s good time

Wow factor with careful kind driver
Prompt pick up and safe careful driver to the summit. Josef was kind and careful with our 4 year old, offering her extra blankets in addition to the ones we brought and allowing us time to put in our car seat. He also provided her with some chocolate wafers which she devoured while waiting for the sunrise and a spare torch: so kind and patient.
We loved the sunrise but it’s cold so take hat coat and scarf and blankets if you have
We had a flask of coffee/tea to sip while you wait for the sun to come up. This is in January may not be needed in the summer.
We had a wonderful time thanks again

Walking tour of Old Town, Funchal
Elena (from Austria) took us on a 2 hour tour of the old town, Funchal. She was well informed, added some humour with a nice mix of history and local colour and invited us to ask questions. It was also great to know that these walking tours support student books and meals. Highly recommend. R&M

10/10 views!!
The views from this hike were absolutely breathtaking! Bruno our guide was brilliant and explained thoroughly where we were going. We had such a fantastic day out, my camera roll was full by the end of it! We completed this in October 2025 and the weather was perfect, not too hot but no rain.
Wouldn't recommend if you don't have a head for heights or caves (although they're not too bad) And take torches and appropriate footwear.

Spectacular photo opportunities
Fantastic experience.
Hugo keeps the groups small and has the local knowledge to beat the queues and recommend the best spot for great photos. We captured some amazing shots without the crowds.
The Balcones lavada walk was a lovely contrast in the forest ending in another spectacular view.
And the final stop of a clifftop viewpoint did not disappoint.
I highly recommend this tour.

An unmissable spectacular experience
This was a stunning walk with some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever come across. It was well led by Martha. It was only 4.3 miles but it's a steep ascent of more than 2000 feet, so isn't easy. There is an option to get transported for the most difficult part. I'm 78 and was able to climb it without a problem. The final section to the Stairway to Heaven is a bit narrow and is a steep up and down and needs approaching with caution if you suffer with vertigo. I found it exciting and the views were worth it - just stunning.

A superb day out to discover more about Madeiran wines
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tour. We were in a small group of 8 people, and we soon got chatting on the bus. Our guide, Roberto, was excellent. He was full of stories and anecdotes, and always keen to ensure we were having the best time. We visited three wineries, and tasted a whole variety of local wines. The lunch included in the trip was excellent, set against the spectacular backdrop of the north Madeira mountains. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone with an interest in wine and local history, or someone who enjoys travelling through dramatic landscapes with a small group of likeminded individuals.

Madeira West - A Different World
We stayed in the old part of town where vehicles are not allowed, but the company did a great job of managing the issue and arranging a convenient pick-up. The guide, Dino, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His philosophy was that he wanted to do what ever was possible to address our needs and questions and to make sure that our enjoyment was his top priority.
We had already been on a tour of the Western side of the island and we assumed that the tours would be fairly redundant. We were wrong. The two sides of the islands might as well be from different planets. Both were rugged, but very distinctive. It was a very enjoyable and informative day which we enjoyed very much.
