After a mixup the boys picked us up near the port. Then off on a fabulous tour up the mountain in 4x4 range rovers. Magnificent views and sights all over. Few stops to try local delicacies like Poncha (lol) maderia wine (had to buy a bottle for medicinal purposes lol) sky walk or in my case sky run. The tour guides were brilliant. Highly recommend a fabulous half day out over this beautiful island.

We travelled in an open top Land Rover which are not the most comfortable but more than adequate for the trip. Our driver was excellent and very informative in respect of the islands flora and fauna

A really good half day tour including the Nun's Valley and south coast areas. The soft roof Land Rover 4x4 vehicles are great at handling the mountain roads and are brilliant when you can stand up to view the scenery close up when off road. Our driver and guide was top class too. The visit to a traditional village bar to try a freshly prepared glass of Poncha for a very reasonable charge was enjoyable, their coffee was good too! The stops provided the great views promised whether over the stunning rural mountains, the sea cliffs and coastal village at Camara de Lobos. The Madeira wine tasting at Henriques & Henriques was enjoyable with no pressure to buy from their extensive range. All together a great trip which I would recommend.

Fun morning out into the countryside & mountains. Stopped for a tasty Poncha in a tiny mountain village and later enjoyed Wine Tasting at Henriques & Henriques in Funchal. Enjoyed the off-road experience as did the rest of the party. Lots of laughs ensued. Stopped at various stunning view points and a finale short stop a pretty Fishing Village. A great way of seeing a portion of the island in a short space of time. Certainly a varied excursion and our tour guide made it a very pleasant experience all round. Great value.

An enjoyable half day on 4x4 trip, felt safe in the land-rover we were in and the driver was very good and friendly. Drove to 1300 feet in moundains on this beautiful island. Unfortunately the maderia wine /tasting was closed, so that was bad planning, and we were interested in that part of the tour. The driver took us to small town nearby, but very little there. Still enjoyable worth the money.

Pick up at stated time but was advised the wine tour was cancelled by winery on morning of the trip. But that didn’t stop us having a fabulous trip with Christopher (Rene)🤣. Very informative. excellent driving skills both on and off road (an experience all on its own). Would highly recommend this tour unless you have back problems

All it was an amazing trip our guide vitor done an amazing job making sure we all had the best time. The tour off the road 10 out of 10 the pancho making skywalk and tasting of the wine superb. This tour was the highlight of our holiday

This was an excellent tour and a great way to see more of Madeira and the island! Pedro was a fantastic guide, very friendly and knowledgable and took us to some fantastic sights using his local knowledge to avoid the crowds. We were able to sample 4 different whiskeys (all included in the price) and for an additional €2 could sample a poncho cocktail which was delicious and made using local ingredients grown on the local farm. Such a fascinating and interesting tour and would highly recommend this! Experiencing a ride in the 4x4 jeep was also thrilling, especially down some of the backroads and made it really enjoyable! Thank you so much Pedro and True Spirit!

Skywalk disappointing , stopped to watch a man making poncha which was ok. Stopped a couple of times to be informed about local plant life. Wine tasting compared to numerous others we have done was poor.

We are sorry that unlike other customers you didn´t like anything on this half day tour, you didn´t like the guide and his explanations, you didn´t like the skywalk with its amazing panoramic view over the ocean, you didn´t like the wine tasting with 3 different Madeira wines; at least the poncha workshop seemed okay to you.
We really hope you have enjoyed somewhere in Madeira !

Excellent tour with fun and very entertaining Hugo, was one of highlights of our trip. Everything was interesting, the skywalk was amazing and also all the scenery. The trip for the wine tasting which was included was also good. He gave everyone much information about the island and on the way back recommended restaurants to go to in Funchal. One restaurant we went to was the best we found, it was Taberna Ruel and we ate there twice. I highly recommend this trip and especially the driver of the jeep, Hugo.

Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Some pretty hairy driving on some extremely steep & narrow roads. The off-roading was not for the faint hearted but we were able to see parts of the island we would otherwise have missed.

A very skilled and fun driver (Ruiz/ also nicknamed “penguin”) took us around a very picturesque area. He had a fantastic sense of humour and within 5 minutes the whole group was bonding over a good banter.
4 by 4 really helps around Madeira as Ruiz was skilfully climbing steep medeiran roads with a remarkable skill.
The route takes you to pretty areas and is not too short or not too long.
Our only point of improvement would be making the winery more involved during the visit. I don’t think this is true spirit’s fault but rather the way the winery is run. This has not taken away from how fantastic this tour was.
I highly recommend and thank you Ruiz again for giving it your all on our tour.

We traveled with Lorenzo forgive my spelling on our tour. It was spectacular. He made sure we took the roads less traveled to really see the views and cruise off-road. The best part was how he took the time to explain all the views and background history. He also took us through local hotspots of coffee, poncha a local delight! and helped us learn to embrace the historic culture of Madeira island.
I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. Specifically request Lorenzo if you can, he's TOP NOTCH.

This is one of those tours not usually available in other cities. Not many places allow you to stand up in the back of a Land Rover with your head out of the roof taking photos and videos whilst it drives off road and over really bumpy terrain. But the views are totally worth it. You will climb and descend gradients of 20-25 degrees and wonder how the driver manages to do it. Our driver was very funny and gave very good information. Would highly recommend this tour if you have good grip and good balance. There is room for 7 passengers with only the front seat passenger unable to stand up. Take warm clothing as driving in the mountains with the roof off can get a bit chilly.
