There’s no entrance fee to access Pico do Arieiro, but self-guided hikes start from US$38 and include transport to and from the trailhead. Pico do Ariero is typically included on half-day tours that explore eastern Madeira; these tend to include Madeira’s third-highest mountain, the quaint village of Santana, and the Ponta de São Lourenço lookout point.

Several excellent hiking trails begin from Pico do Arieiro.
