This was one of the best...
This was one of the best tours we have done. The guide was interesting, informative and very Parris by. We made our noodles and skins from scratch. She made the experience fun for all of us. There were 3 children/teens in the group and they enjoyed it as much as the adults. The class moved quickly with everyone participating. Since we each made our own food, we could season it and add the flavors we liked. Not only was it a really fun experience, the finished product was delicious!

Family Tea Ceremony
My family enjoyed this introduction to a Japanese tea ceremony. The location was easy to find, and our 2 hosts were very friendly and informative, teaching us the history and procedures, answering questions, and instructing us on how to make our own matcha tea. My children, ages 17, 13, and 8, were engaged the entire 45 minutes we spent for this activity. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a cultural experience while visiting Osaka.

Wonderful, Fun Experience!
Hyoga Sensei was our instructor. He is very kind, knowledgeable, patient, good-natured. Sensei is an excellent teacher. His English pronunciation was clear and precise. The entire experience of being transformed in our uniforms to learning about the philosophy and history of ninjas and samurai to practicing the principles and gestures of ninja to using the weapons was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend!

Nice experience
You get to make as many pieces as you can in the time slotted and the teacher spoke good English and was very helpful throughout. Note it costs extra to fire and ship… If you are in Tokyo for a while, go at the beginning of your trip so you have enough time to go back and finish your pieces.

We had a truly wonderful...
We had a truly wonderful experience at the Kimono Tea Ceremony.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. Being dressed in beautiful traditional kimonos was a special experience in itself, and the staff were patient, attentive, and ensured everything was perfect.
The tea ceremony was both peaceful and informative, giving us a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture, traditions, and hospitality. We enjoyed learning about the history and significance of the ceremony, preparing matcha, and tasting traditional Japanese sweets.
The beautiful surroundings provided countless opportunities for photographs, and we never felt rushed. The staff were happy to help us capture special memories, making the experience even more enjoyable.
This was far more than a tea ceremony; it was an immersion into Japanese culture and a highlight of our visit to Kyoto. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic and memorable experience.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful and meaningful memory for us.

Tranquil tea ceremony experience
Even though it’s in a busy tourist spot , right near the Kiyomizu-dera temple ( which is a must!) it was in a lovely tranquil tea house..(I’d combine the 2 experiences & do them on the same day) There are plenty of cafes, souvenir shops in the vicinity too. Staff are very welcoming, asking you to remove shoes at the door ( so remember socks) then you enter a 100 year old tea house..facing a pretty Japanese style garden. They have you seated on floor cushions (small stool or chair are available) if floor sitting is a challenge.. each person has a matcha tea service and sweet made up on a tray in front of them. They then talk you through the history & rituals and introduce you to the ‘tea-master’ & how the ceremony will proceed. An enjoyable & informative 45 minute session.

Best Food Tour Ever
Our food tour with Simon was one of the absolute highlights of our Tokyo trip. Simon was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire evening so much fun. Every food and drink stop was delicious, and we loved experiencing a part of Tokyo that felt local and non-touristy. It gave us a side of the city we never would have found on our own, and we had an absolute blast. Highly recommend!

Hoi hoi hoi! Fun learning about making sushi
Awesome experience! This was a fun, interactive class. The instructors were funny and friendly, easy to understand with step by step instructions. We got the sake flight with our experience and even that had information on the different sakes. Fun for all ages. Highly recommend this experience.

I had such a great...
I had such a great experience with this cooking class in Tokyo. The instructors were incredibly informative and explained everything in a way that felt approachable and easy to follow, even for someone who doesn’t regularly cook Japanese food. What I appreciated most was how accessible the recipes were — nothing felt intimidating or overly complicated, and each step was clearly explained. I left the class feeling genuinely confident and excited to try making Japanese dishes again once I got home. It was both educational and empowering, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a hands-on, thoughtful introduction to Japanese cooking.

A Delicious and Educational Morning!
Walking through Tsukiji Market with Miho was such a wonderful experience.
She shared so much information about the market, the different vendors, and what foods are worth trying — it really brought the whole place to life.
Hiroko was our amazing instructor for the sushi-making class. She was patient, encouraging, and gave us great tips on preparing miso soup and seasoning the rice properly. I especially loved learning how to make the Japanese egg omelette, but the highlight was definitely mastering a sushi roll!
I highly recommend this experience — it’s a fantastic way to learn from locals and get hands-on with authentic Japanese cooking.

Fantastic
I had the most amazing night ever! I have not danced that much or met that many cool people in probably 20 years. We had so much fun and they told us to keep going and we certainly did. Wonderful hosts and great venues. Definitely do it especially if you’re so good traveler, but I met a lot of couples and groups and we all had a blast together.

Delicious, Fun, and High Quality – A Must-Do Tokyo Food Tour!
This was one of the best food tours I have ever done. Kato was our fabulous guide. He was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Japanese food and culture. His communication before and after the tour was exceptional. We knew exactly where to meet and when, and he answered questions ahead of time. Afterward, he sent us photos and even shared extra recommendations.
The food was excellent and truly all-you-can-eat, which is rare for a food tour, especially one with this level of quality. We had takoyaki, dorayaki, and obanyaki, followed by a generous yakiniku dinner and an incredible sushi feast at a local izakaya. Everything was fresh, delicious, and well-paced. The tour also included fun stops at Daiso, Don Quijote, and Miyashita Park, which gave it a nice local feel beyond just the food.
We also appreciated seeing some sights and learning about the culture along the way, including spots like Hachiko Square, Shibuya Crossing, and Nonbei Yokocho.
This is definitely a pricier food tour, but it is worth every penny. The amount and quality of the food, thoughtful itinerary, and outstanding service made it one of the highlights of our trip.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality, memorable evening in Shibuya.
