Awesome Taroko Trip!

Sam is an awesome tour guide and Taroko is an amazing place to visit! I traveled with my parents (in their 80s). As a former travel consultant, I select my tours based strictly on the itinerary and inclusions. While this itinerary was perfectly balanced and offered an outstanding overview of this beautiful country, the true magic of the experience came down to our tour guide. A guide can easily make or break a trip, and Su Chuan Ren (also known as Kevin Su) elevated this tour into one of the most memorable journeys we have ever taken. When reading reviews prior to the trip, I initially wondered if the overwhelming praise for Kevin was too good to be true, but he genuinely lives up to the hype. He has a rare gift for presenting information in a deeply engaging, fun, and humorous way, while always remaining incredibly kind and considerate. The quality of the trip was further enhanced by outstanding accommodations, highlighted by the spectacular Fleur de Chine at Sun Moon Lake, and complemented by fantastic breakfast buffets each morning. Wonderful day outside Taipei

Vincent is the greatest guide ever! He is personable, has a great sense of humor, has fun stories about his pets (ask about his snakes and tarantulas), is very kind, and knows all the nooks and crannies worth seeing. He went with us to every location giving us background info, showed us a wonderful, out of the way, coffee shop, avoided a steep staircase climb in favor of a more scenic and gentle route, and guided us to an out of the way restaurant with a great view. We had a most wonderful day. My wife, adult son, and I all enjoyed ourselves and will always remember our tour with Vincent as a highlight of our stay in Taiwan. Thank you!

Great personalized tour of Northern Taiwan

The driver Peter was in the lobby of the hotel waiting for us. He asked us what we wanted to do and what was important to us. We told him we wanted to see the sights learn about the culture and eat some good food. He took us to the northern part of the island. We visited the Geopark in YehLiu then we headed in the other direction and visited the Ruifang district where we took a tour of a temple and had the most delicious lunch at an old tea house. Peter recommended what to eat and he was spot on. We finished the day by visiting the suspension bridge and waterfall. It was a full day and Peter delivered.

A Pleasant Day

Overall a pleasant day. Activities were in line with expectations. I would have preferred more time at Yehliu since the geological formations were so cool. But I'd guess others would have preferred more time at other spots. Since this is a group tour on a bus, please set expectations around muting cell phones. One lady's phone would ding every minute and she acted like I had the problem when I asked her to turn it off.

Tea tasting and scenic views

Casual drive through the mountains just south of Taipei. Saw local tea fields over looking the thousand island lake. Guide was helpful, especially answering questions about the fauna. The highlight was the tea tasting with a tea master: three teas of which two were locally grown.
