Great Southern Wall

I had a free weekend in Shanghai and opted to do this day trip to Linhai. Emma arranged everything for me from picking me up at my hotel and getting me to the train station. The South Great Wall trip was amazing. Had a perfect day with sun and no clouds. Emma was my guide and she was great! Very knowledgable and her English was perfect. We opted to do the stairs first and loop around. Glad we did it that way as there were a lot of stairs. Great views, and great history lessons. After walking the wall, Emma arranged lunch prior to our arrival. She selected 4 great dishes that gave a great tasting. And the beer was cold. Bonus points! We then walked around the city a little taking in the old buildings. And then of to the lake. Great views, old architecture and even more history. Overall well worth the trip! And as a bonus we had some time to spare before heading back to the trainstation, the driver took us up to a great spot to over look the city. I would definetly recommend this if you want to fill a day, and Emma works on the weekends only. If you happen to book and get Emma as your guide, you will have a great trip!

The tour was great with our tour guide Lin. We had just one day in Shanghai and this tour was ideal. Although it was raining Lin made it possible to shift the itenary around so that we could still see the view from Shanghai tower before it was obscured by the mist.The highlight was the water town which is a must do when in Shanghai. The lunch was really delicious and we got to taste some local delicacies.

Great tour of the wall

Had a great time at the great wall. My guide Maggie was very patient and took a lot of pictures for me which is greatly appreciated. Itinerary was completely flexible which meant I could walk and hike for as long as I wanted and at my own pace. She also took the time to explain everything about the wall itself and its history and answer any questions as well as give tips on how to best enjoy my visit, very informative. Would definitely recommend!

We did the one day tour of Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square with Helen. She was absolutely fantastic. We had an amazing...

We had an amazing experience on our tour of the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. Our guide, Lucy, truly made the day memorable—she was fun, engaging, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. She also took fantastic photos for us, which was such a bonus and helped capture the experience perfectly. We learned so much about the history and significance of each site. Lucy shared interesting details and stories that really brought everything to life and made the tour feel much more meaningful. A highlight of the day was visiting the Great Wall. I highly recommend taking the toboggan ride down—it’s such a fun and unique experience, and definitely worth it even if there’s a bit of a wait. Also, don’t skip going inside the Forbidden City. It’s incredibly impressive and full of history, and walking through it gives you a much deeper appreciation of China’s past. Overall, this tour was well-organized, informative, and a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

Great way to spend a day!

Ben was a great guide and made sure we hit the main sites as promised. The tour was well paced- some walking, some steps but nothing over the top. Dim sum was a great way to end the day. The tour does not return to the starting point but Ben was able to assist with advice regarding transport home.

Very good trip, despite bad weather.

An excellent trip. Despite adverse weather, our guide, Becky, was able to lead us to all the key locations. She was knowledgable about local facts and history, and kept us all well entertained. My past experience has made me wary of tours with included lunch, but here the food at the Fishing Village was actually quite good.

Our excellent guide was waiting for us as we disembarked the ship with a friendly smile. Some of the group (4 people) are mobility challenged and he was very attentive to this throughout the tour.
