Easy walk from the local train station. Welcoming and supportive staff. The activity is well organised and loys of fun. You get to do all the steps other than the broth The finished product is delicious. We loved this experience.

A MUST do for all ages. From start to finish you are taught the process in a fun, clear and enjoyable fashion. There is nothing better than making your own noodles and soup from scratch and also given some “artistic” freedom to make it truly your own. The staff is incredibly kind, engaging and fun. We loved every minute of it, especially getting to eat our own creations.

What To Expect

Make your own way to the Ramen Factory in Kyoto to begin your culinary adventure into the world of ramen. This small-group tour allows you to craft your own delicious bowl of ramen from scratch.

Under the guidance of instructors, learn the complete ramen-making process, from kneading and rolling out the dough for the noodles to mixing the soup and preparing the toppings. Choose from a variety of flavors and toppings to personalize your ramen creation.

This class accommodates vegetarian, vegan, and Halal preferences upon request. Following the enjoyable and educational cooking session, savor the fruits of your labor with a home-cooked lunch featuring your personalized bowl of ramen.

The class was great. It was actually very hands on... you really make your own ramen with lots of elbow grease. The staff was great and efficient. Tuyo was the lead instructor and kept it entertaining and educational. You are able to choose from two different kinds of stock and between miso, soy, salt, or blend. You also get all of the delicious toppings. Their is no pork in this ramen either. Definitely recommend for solo, groups, and families. You also receive a photo, certificate, and bandana.

We did this ramen-making class as a family and honestly had such a great time. The kids really enjoyed it, especially getting to make their own ramen and then eat it after. The class was easy to follow, very engaging, and never felt too complicated or too slow. It was informative but still light and entertaining from start to end. I had the BEST experience at Ramen Factory—honestly one of the highlights of my time in Kyoto! 🍜✨ I booked the 3pm ramen-making class and ended up having what felt like a private session for a big part of it, which made the experience even more special. The instructors were incredibly warm, patient, and knowledgeable, and I got so much hands-on guidance throughout. I was surprised by how approachable the noodle-making process is—we made the dough from scratch, and seeing it transform into real ramen noodles using the machine was so satisfying. The broth, on the other hand, gave me a whole new appreciation for ramen—it’s so much more complex and layered than I ever realised! The class was super interactive, well-paced, and really fun. You’re not just watching—you’re actually doing every step yourself, which makes it so memorable. Plus, getting to eat your own freshly made ramen at the end? Unbeatable. Amazing and heaps of fun! Being from Hawaii, we are a little skeptical of “tourist” activities. But this was one we were so glad we were able to experience. Staff was amazing and energetic. I believe our class size was 18 (maybe two couples and three families) but the staff make you feel like it’s a private class just for you. Well worth the money and we’d recommend it for anyone visiting Kyoto.

Great family activity making ramen from scratch!

What a fun hands on activity to do as a family. We sat at a station and were led step by step through the ramen making process. We made ramen from scratch using flour and water and then kneaded the dough. we then put the dough through a noodle making machine. We made our own broths with dashi and miso. My husband and daughter are vegetarians and they were extremely accommodating with tofu and veggie based broths. We then cooked the noodles and added it to the broth and the all consumed our homemade ramen! It was a fun interactive process. The sensei and his helpers were very friendly and attentive as well to make sure all was going right. We had tons of photo opportunities and it was a great family activity for sure!

I came to Kyoto… and accidentally became a ramen chef 👩🏻‍🍳🍜 This ramen-making class was SO much fun from start to finish. I got to mix, season, and build my own bowl like a true noodle queen — and yes, it tasted as good as it looked! The instructors were super friendly, patient, and made everything easy and interactive. It didn’t feel like a “class” — it felt like a fun cultural experience where you actually learn something cool. Also… the outfits, the props, the photo wall? 10/10. I fully embraced my inner ramen factory icon.
