This matcha tea workshop was such a lovely and memorable experience. The host was absolutely wonderful—so welcoming and kind. We arrived much earlier than expected, and she graciously let us sit in her cozy café while we waited, which was such a kind gesture. The workshop itself took place in a charming upstairs nook of the café, where we sat on the floor in traditional style. It added to the authenticity and intimacy of the experience. The space was peaceful and perfect for learning the art of matcha. Our host wasn’t just a great teacher—she’s also incredibly cultured and insightful, with some amazing life experiences that she shared with us. We really enjoyed chatting with her and learning more about Japanese culture beyond just the tea-making process. She guided us step-by-step in making matcha, and we also got to enjoy some delicious traditional Japanese sweets alongside it. The whole experience felt thoughtful, personal, and deeply enriching. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for something cultural and calming in Japan.

Very easy to follow and enjoyable experience. Tour guide was very friendly. It was pretty basic and discovered there's not too much to making matcha. Good experience to do as you're already in Japan but could've follow a YouTube video tbh and done it at home. Sweets were nice complement to the matcha.

Booked the night before and was easy and quick to find in Asakusa area. The host Hiya was very friendly and explained the history of matcha. We also learned how to spot high quality powder. We made it with traditional tools and then she helped us take a family photo. We got to enjoy traditional matcha with sweets which made for a great treat.

Great experience! Interesting and modern approach while explaining matcha. If you don’t want the formality of a tea ceremony, then this is the place. We went with kids (6 and 9) and they loved it. The team was very fun and trying to get everyone engaged (kids included) into the activity.

I am a bus tour guide and come with my Japanese friend. We have a nice experience. We Enjoy a Japanese confectionery & matcha. The matcha was not bitter and tasted very nice. We learned the history of matcha and what is the different from green tea leaves. We will recommend to our clients in the recent future.

This is a short and sweet matcha experience. There were 3 of us in our class. Our instructor was very sweet and friendly. They use an iPad to show you pictures and teach you about how matcha is grown. It is well organized and informative. Then you get to whisk your own matcha and enjoy it with some Japanese sweets. The location is very convenient. The view along the river is very nice. The class was a good value. They teach sushi making classes at the same location. When we started we were the only class. When we left there was another matcha class and a sushi class going on. The sushi class was larger and louder and I was glad we had the quieter experience without a sushi class at the same time. Would recommend.
