Attended a small private tea ceremony in Osaka with my daughter was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were instantly drawn into the calming nature of our surroundings.
Our host was a kind and knowledgeable hostess who expertly guided us through the intricate rituals, explaining the history and significance behind each step. It was fascinating to learn about the art of tea and how it transcends mere drinking into a thoughtful, meditative practice.
My daughter and I particularly enjoyed the personalized touches throughout the ceremony. The matcha tea was beautifully prepared, and the delicate flavors were a delightful surprise that we savored with each sip. The harmonious aesthetics of the tea room, with its lovely decorations and soothing ambiance, enhanced the experience even more.
This shared experience deepened our appreciation for Japanese culture and created lasting memories. I wholeheartedly recommend this small private tea ceremony to anyone visiting Osaka. It’s a hidden gem that offers an enriching glimpse into the tranquil world of tea, perfect for families looking to bond or friends seeking a delightful escape. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and thoroughly enchanted—an experience we will cherish forever!

The host gave a bit of history about the tea ceremony, followed by a demonstration of how tea has been made in tea houses for centuries. While it may not be spiritual experience, you have to admire the calmness, the precision and the zen like process.

It was a great experience for myself and my two teenage kids. Kazu was our guide through the experience and she was very sweet and kind, taught us all about the traditions of the tea ceremony, and the proper way to make and drink the matcha. Very enjoyable and not touristy feeling, a great way to experience true Japanese culture. I would absolutely do this again with someone new to Japan!

A great intimate tea ceremony, exploring the cultural relevance of matcha tea and how the ceremony is performed. The instructor/host was very warm and welcoming and gave lots of information. It was quite a relaxing experience as well despite the very busy Dotonburi location. You get to make your own tea as well... but it was a resounding acknowledgement that the instructor's tea tasted better!

We had a really beautiful time with Soda at our tea ceremony today. We were given background regarding the tea ceremony, watched the way tea is traditionally made and then made matcha ourselves. We walked away feeling enlightened and calm. A beautiful cultural experience for all.

Excellent experience! It was a perfect way to spend our last day of a 3 1/2 week trip to Japan. Calm, fun, and educational. The tea and treat was also delicious.
Patty_S, Nov 2025
The tea ceremony was excellent. We learned not only how to make the tea, but the proper way to serve and drink it too. Our host, Kazu, was informative and taught us about tea culture and its history. And, when my husband’s phone was accidentally taken by another guest, she contacted them and waited with us until it was returned. She was exceptional.
Julie_H, Nov 2025
It was a nice way to see how match tea is made in the traditional way. Very relaxing and informative.

Booking this experience for the day we were leaving Japan was perfect timing. It was a great way to learn about this ceremony. There were only 2 couples and so it was a very intimate experience. I would highly recommend booking this and don't forget to bring some extra cash to purchase some items that are available.
Simon_E, Oct 2025
Fabulous experience. There were just 6 of us and our instructor was friendly and informative. A great way to learn about the history of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, watch how the expert makes the tea and then do it yourself - accompanied by traditional Japanese sweets from the various seasons. The contrast between the tranquillity of the tea ceremony and the bustling streets of Dotonbori, a stones throw away, was remarkable!

Nice relaxing experience And you’d enjoy making macha yourself. A mocha pastry is included too. Thank you
