Our guide, Steve, was incredibly engaging and knowledgeable. I’ve joined many walking tours over the years, and I’ll admit that sometimes I find myself zoning out or struggling to follow all the historical details. That was definitely not the case here. This may have been my favorite tour of our entire trip! Darren was exceptionally knowledgeable about both German and Berlin history and shared so much as we walked from beer to beer. We could see his love of history as well as Berlin. It wasn't an issue for us, but be aware you will be walking between 3 and 4 miles during the tour. I suggest you wear comfortable shoes and in the hot summer months dress cooly and bring along some water. I would highly suggest this tour especially if you can get Darren as your guide.

I am so glad I booked a tour instead of doing this on my own. Our tour guide, Ariel, l was incredibly knowledgeable and brought insight to the history of the camp that was invaluable. I enjoyed that the tour gave us time to look through the exhibits, but also our guide pointed out the important pieces that could easily get lost in the fold of a large complex. The guide was also kind and willing to answer any and all questions we had. I would definitely recommend this tour to others wanting to visit.

Wonderful Experience and Outstanding Guide

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide was absolutely wonderful- friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely funny. He did an excellent job keeping everyone engaged and made the entire experience both entertaining and informative. The only thing I wish was different is that the tour had lasted longer than one hour because we were having such a great time. We also happened to have a rainy day, but that was completely out of the tour operator’s control and certainly didn’t diminish the experience. If you’re considering this boat tour, I highly recommend it. The outstanding guide, beautiful scenery, and overall experience made it well worth it. Five stars!

This tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Germany. Visiting Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was a deeply moving experience and, in my opinion, something everyone should see to better understand Germany’s history and the consequences of human intolerance. In contrast, Potsdam offered a beautiful glimpse into another side of German history, with its stunning architecture, peaceful countryside, and remarkable heritage. The entire trip was comfortable, well-organized, and enjoyable. Our driver, Michael, was excellent, and our guide, Walli , was outstanding. His knowledge, passion, and storytelling brought history to life, and I learned more about Germany in one day than I ever expected.

Great Tour of Berlin

Our guide in Berlin, Scott, was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable without being too academic. He was genuinely interested in his subject but he was equally as interested in the people in his tour group. He took the time to get to know people to ensure they got as much as they wanted from the experience. Our only problem was the check in process. We arrived very early to the meeting point, checked out. Names off with a female staffer and was told our bus was late. When it arrived we got on. Apparently we had not been marked off. However I do appreciate the effort Viator did make to contact us. The problem was we did not have wifi so we did not get any of the messages till later. We did have a great day and loved the sights we saw in Berlin. I had no concerns about not being returned to our cruise ship on time. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great Tour for a Concise Visit to an Important Concentration Camp

This is a compact tour of one of the concentration camps during WWII... about an hour north of Berlin. It is well-run, the bus is very comfortable, and our guide, Emma, was amazing in her knowledge and led our group like she knew what she was doing! SHE made this a great tour. If you want to dive deeper into this memorial, you would need more time here... but this is exactly what we desired.

We had a wonderful Berlin tour today with our guide Daniel and our very skillful driver. Daniel gave us one of the best experiences of our trip — he was professional, responsible, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about Berlin’s history. What made the tour extra special was how he brought along his own binders/books filled with articles and old photos of Berlin, then showed them to us right at each historical site. It helped us truly understand how things looked and felt in the old days. Our driver was also excellent — very skillful, careful, and smooth throughout the day. We had a complete private tour of Berlin with Jose on a cold and snowy day, and it was absolutely outstanding. Despite the weather, Jose never rushed us at any point. We visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and all the major Berlin landmarks, and at every stop he provided very detailed explanations, including historical context, exact names, locations, and dates. His knowledge of Berlin’s history is deep and precise, and he presents it in a clear, engaging way. He made sure we were comfortable, answered all questions thoroughly, and adjusted the pace naturally without ever making us feel rushed. This tour felt serious, respectful, and educational, especially at Sachsenhausen, while still being very human and approachable.
