Frasr was amazing! He...
Frasr was amazing! He really knew his stuff when it came to German history, and where to go and what to do in Dresden, and even when we got back to Berlin. He was very kind and very fun and funny, while also directing our attention to sight after sight. Also very good at projecting his voice when needing to get over the noise! Thank you Frasr!

Great exercise and scenic views!
A nice change from exploring the cities. Our tour of 8 started in Dresden, and we met another group from Prague at the first stop. Our total tour size was about 16 people, and our tour guide was excellent. The first stop was at a park with restroom facilities; it was a nice easy walk with beautiful views. The second stop was at a rural trail where you hike uphill on a sandy uneven path to view the arch, much more challenging than the first stop, no facilities until you reach the top where there are bathrooms and a little restaurant. After coming back down we went to lunch, it was delicious and included a meal and a drink. I had the venison, and it was very good. The third stop was the boat tour where you hike down a switchback trail to a gorge where the boat tour is. It was very pretty but after the first two stops our legs were getting tired. The walk back up the steep hill was challenging with tired legs. In my opinion, I think the tour could have ended after lunch and it would not have changed the experience. Overall, we really liked the tour, it was a wonderful change of pace from touring city streets and museums, and we would highly recommend it. This tour is not for out those who are unsteady on their feet, people with recent surgery or those who are not in decent physical condition. Wear good sneakers or hiking shoes and layers.

Absolutely amazing tour!!
Laura was a wonderful tour guide! So knowledgeable, interesting and kind. She was willing and able to answer all our questions and we learned so much about the history of Dresden. Definitely one of the best tours we’ve ever been on and we’ve taken many over the years!

Beautiful Scenery, Challenging Hikes
Make sure you’re up for a couple of challenging hikes and dress correctly—good, nonslip shoes, rain gear if that’s in the forecast (I can’t imagine doing the hikes we did, if it had been raining—it was already slippery in dry weather), wear layers if it gets too hot (it did for us). Be prepared for a long day. The scenery was beyond amazing—very beautiful and so worth the long day. The drive from Dresden to the Czech Republic was lovely, so much to see. Our first stop at the Bastei Bridge, was spectacular—indescribably breathtaking views. Our lunch was really good, great menu choices and much needed after the second stop, where we made the steep hike down to the river canyon for the boat ride and the exhausting (for us) trip back up. The next and final stop to the “sandstone park” was really interesting—the grounds were once an ancient sea and the resulting sandstone formations were so unique due to weathering and the passage of time. This place was also a bit of a hike, slippery due to sand, rocks and fallen leaves—need to be aware, but it’s a truly enjoyable and like nothing I’ve ever seen. Our guides, Barbara & Milan, were very friendly and informative—we were impressed at their knowledge desire to create a memorable trip for us.
