What are people saying about Krakow

Aushwitz-Bikenau 28.03.2026
Hello Cracow has been fantastic, from contacting me at the beginning of the year regarding my end of March visit through to assuring me everything was OK when I read stories about frequent cancellations and museum policy changes. Pawel let us know he would be a few minutes late for the pick up but we were all soon on our way. He was the gentlest guide who knew about the horrors of what happened, but shared the trauma with such sensitivity and respect. I never want to go back, it was heartbreaking, but I'm glad to have gone and to have been with Hello Cracow.

A Poland must-do trip
This trip is amazing and gives you the perfect balance of experiencing traditional Poland (villages, food and drink), picturesque wintery landscapes and relaxation at the thermal baths.
Szczepan was a brilliant guide. He was confident and clearly passionate about Poland; he was also very friendly and funny. Personally we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Szczepan.

Auschwitz-Birkenau - it’s a must if you visit Krakow
A very well organised trip with a friendly guide called Bob (aka Peter)
Our original meeting time of 11am had been changed to 12.25-12.40 at the same meeting point. We had read about lots of cancellations and were concerned that ours might be, but I have to say the coach arrived on time and even waited for a few late arrivals!
Journey took approx 1.1/2 hrs. Going to Auschwitz-Birkenau is a must if you are able to do lots of walking and climbing up/down stairs.
I would recommend to book through Viator as we were kept well informed of any changes via email and WhatsApp.
Experienced and knowledgeable staff who were very helpful answering any questions that anyone had.

A Must Visit both Harrowing and Sobering
Auschwitz and Birkenhau
We had originally booked for an early morning visit but this was later changed to an afternoon visit by the provider as the morning visits were prioritised for school pupil visits. We were picked up from our hotel about 12:30 in a mini bus taxi, we were the first pick up and there three other pick ups, the roads were busy in the city. Auschwitz is a fair distance from Krakow and I believe that we were behind time due to the amount of traffic. On arrival at Auschwitz, I believe that our allocated tour guide was not available but a replacement was quickly found, who may have also carried out an earlier trip that morning, I believe that her name was Magdalen. You are given headsets and she takes you through the experience with genuine and complete heartfelt passion with immense knowledge that embraces you, and immerses you in the horrors that these poor souls endured. As a listener the whole day was emotionally exhausting, for Magdalen whose first language is not English, we can only marvel at her fortitude to do this every day. The house of the Camp Commandant Rudolf Hoss (as seen in the film ‘The Zone of Interest’)is still there but I don’t believe that you can visit it, however rather appropriately you can see it from the place he was subsequently hanged for his crimes. Birkenhau is only a short trip away from Auschwitz and when we arrived the evening was already closing in with the temperature dropping. At Birkenhau you see more places that you have only ever seen in news pictures and films , the site where the trains came in, the routes that columns of people walked to where selection for life or death was made, the huts (stables) where people lived and died . The site is unbelievably immense in size , it is really quite harrowing, bleak and sobering. Our tour guide said that the best sunsets that she had ever seen have been at Birkenau, on our visit the evening was drawing in and there was a beautiful early spring sunset. In the fading light you could see columns of visitors in the distance, walking respectfully in the steps and memory of those that have now gone. The horrors of this place are unimaginable and the thought of what humans can do to other humans is beyond belief, it is place that everyone should experience.

Highly recommend, very professionally organised.
We done the Salt Mines, Auschwitz and Birk all in one day, it was a long day but everything went like clockwork, highly recommend the packed lunch for the money for the money, all the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, would definitely use again.

The guided tour was lead...
The guided tour was lead by Anna, who was excellent. She was informative and I learnt so much from her. She spoke excellent English and talked us through every building. If you went alone this experience would be unexplained and not as meaningful.
Very sad but memorable

Lovey day out
Enjoyed the day from start to finish, booking the trip was easy and had regular updates reminders throughout the booking process. Our driver was brilliant arrived on time was very approachable and kept us informed,he ensured the group was at the correct meeting point and was waiting upon return.
The salt mine tour was very informative and our guide knowledgeable and friendly.
The break could have been a little longer to ensure the older members of the group had more time to use the facilities.

Excellent tour
A must do tour if visiting Poland. Communication from the tour operator was great, picked up at 10.55 and arrived back in Krakow at 6 ish and the bus was comfortable. The tour itself was so informative, the guide Ziggy spoke excellent English and the tone of the tour was very respectful.

A long but important and emotional day
We chose this tour as it ended with the salt mines and we were conscious that Auschwitz and Birkenau would be upsetting. This was a very well organised day. The driver was fantastic and ensured we always knew what was next and when and where to meet. He arrived on time to collect and we had a text the night before to ensure we knew pick-up time.
The tour guide at Auschwitz and Birkenau was very knowledgeable. Auschwitz is a much smaller site with lots of individual exhibitions which really hit home. Birkenau is much large site with no exhibitions as such and so you’re reliant on your guide here. It’s heartbreaking to know you’re walking the path of so much suffering.
We had the lunch option which was a chicken pasta and a ham, cheese and salad roll with a chocolate bar. It was filling and tasty and fresh.
After lunch we got back on the bus and headed to the salt mines. This was a very long afternoon of walking after the long morning. Whilst the salt mines were interesting, it was very long and was the part of the day I wouldn’t have been upset to miss in hindsight or split into a separate day. I was relieved once we finally got out of the lift and back to the bus. The tour guide if the salt mines was very knowledgeable and friendly but there were probably too many breaks which made the afternoon longer than it needed to be. The Salt Mines have several hundred steps but they’re almost all downwards but there’s a lot of walking so be prepared.
This trip was excellent value for money and very well organised and would highly recommend to those who have limited days and want to see all 3 places. But prepare for a very long day.

Recommended half day trip
We were picked up from our hotel, the driver Artur arrived on time and was very clear during the morning so we knew how to contact him.
The salt mine was definitely worth the visit, the tour guide was very pleasant, she was very knowledgeable about the history of the mine and answered any questions.
Amazing salt sculptures especially the main chamber.
The mine was comfortable, lots of stairs to go down but the lift brings you back up.

Highly Recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We booked with Touristico through Viator - absolutely superb! Communication beforehand was great, driver picked us up from our hotel bang on time. Tickets handed to use on arrival and assigned a group with a tour guide (a lady) who was brilliant and very knowledgable. Very thorough tour of both sites, not rushed even though there were LOADS of groups there. Really well organised and would highly recommend them!

Highly recommend
Before booking- we went on the chat on the website to get a little more Information, which the were very helpful.
Great price.
Once booked I was contacted via what’s app on details and choice of lunch at an extra cost.
Driver arranged times and pick up which was right outside our hotel.
Smooth transition to destination and clean and luxury car.
Driver was helpful and talked us through everything.
Tour guide was fantastic and explained everything and made the tour smooth and helpful.
We got picked up at 5.45 and was home by 12.30. With a 3 hour tour.
Upon arriving we were given 15 mins for toilet and food in the cafe and the back to collect tickets from driver, which then we walked straight through security and started the tour.
Highly recommend using this company- always a worry of the unknown when booking on websites but it was very easy and the drivers were brilliant.

With its medieval architecture, thriving nightlife, and storied past, Krakow often feels like a contradiction. Krakow tours help you understand the city's complex, vibrant soul. Join an expert guide to hear local history on a tour of the UNESCO-listed Old Town and Wawel Castle, learn more about the darker spans of history on a tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, or live it up while bar-hopping in Krakow’s hottest neighborhoods. No matter what you choose, Krakow tours can help you see the city through a new lens.
