We had the most incredible guide for this tour. Sarah was so kind and spent the ride out and back talking to our family about all things Germany as well as any questions we had about the camp. She is so knowledgable. She was very sweet to our teen daughter and talked to her about what she knew about the concentration camps and college opportunites in Germany. She shared some great food recommendations as well.
The actual tour was done so well. We were not sure what the tour would be like because it is a sad and difficult historical topic and memorial. Sarah was amazing. She would explain things in an easy and informative way, then let us look at things and be there for questions. She made sure we had a bit of time to talk and process along the way. Our family learned so much and continued talking about the fantastic Sarah throughout our travels through Europe. Thanks you so much. We will never forget this visit.

Very informative, camp is very different to other camps. It was Slave labour, had an internal jail and was used for human experiments!

This trip is well organized and nicely structured to give Berlin visitors a chance to see and learn about Nazi atrocities without committing an entire day and night. I’ve never finished a tour with as heavy a heart and mind but I would take the tour again…..

Guide acted more like a drill Sargent and was admittedly hung over and moody. Not able to visit all areas of camp while on tour but told we were welcome to do so on our own. Tip was given because that was how they earn a living and we were the only ones out of the group to do so.

All of our guides are licensed by the Memorial, trained, and authorised to access all areas of the site with their groups. We also do not operate as a free-tour tip based company; our guides receive a fixed fee for their services. Because of this, some points in your review sound quite unusual for our organisation.
I have checked our system, but unfortunately I was not able to match your name to any of our Sachsenhausen Memorial tours. Since several companies in Berlin offer tours with very similar names, it’s possible that there may have been a mix-up with the provider.

Your guide Georgia Ri was GREAT! Told us all the amazing facts. It was also a small group (7 ppl) in which we were very much appreciative since this led to us having more time to see hidden gems in the area. Wasn’t rushed at all.

Emma is amazing. She is not earned a degree university degree in German studies, she also has a passion for German history. She is a great storyteller and shared alot of facts and stories that made the tour interesting. She encouraged questions and conversation and took good care of the group. She kept some of the tour light as well as this is an extremely difficult subject. I highly recommend the tour with Emma specifically.

Anastasia was a great tour guide, gave precise explanations, kept us on schedule, planned well for the breaks, avoiding rain, and catching a bus. She was great at finding alternative travel routes when our train stopped on the way back. Her explanations were just right length and with right number of details, not too much and not too little. Our guide Maria was very knowledgeable about this subject, it was a very touching tour and very respectful tour, Maria also provided movies or documentaries to watch which cross referenced and also happily assisted with stations we needed to get off at after the tour, places for food and good coffee. The tour is well timed and organised. But need more time to look at the display underneath housing. It is helpful to understand how the concentration and extermination camps evolved.

I was fortunate enough to have Rebecca as my guide. She is so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of not only the camp but the events leading up to the existence of the camp. Obviously it's a horrible place with horrific stories but Rebecca had a way to weave stories of triumph and hope into the tour to kind of "recalibrate" your brain before it goes full negative. Absolutely fantastic tour of an absolutely disgusting place.

Gregor, our guide, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and told us lots of very interesting facts about Sachsenhausen and the Third Reich. It is a difficult place to visit but important to see it. Gregor's understanding of the history and the horrors which took place made it a valuable experience for us.

Wow, amazing! I had no idea how extensive this tour/location would be, and how critical this camp was in the larger camp system. I chose this particular camp simply because it was close to Berlin, but now I would put it on par with my tour of Auschwitz.
I cannot overstate how knowledgeable and interesting Rebecca was. The 6 hours absolutely flew by, and she made great use of our time. Even on our train ride to and from, Rebecca had a binder of images that gave us outstanding context to her stories. Rebecca is a true historian— well versed in her subject matter and able to answer a wide range of questions thoughtfully and compassionately.
My only advice is to bring some snacks! Shoutout to my fellow tour attendees who shared theirs with me. :)

A really informative trip. We had James as our guide, who was clearly very knowledgeable about German history and WW2. He also fielded many additional questions from the group.
Be sure to book your train ticket in advance and bring plenty of snacks/drinks as there are no lunch stops as such. Also be prepared for plenty of walking - James did get us on to the bus to the camp, but we had a gentle 20 minute walk back to the station to make sure we caught the train in time.
A great day out - would highly recommend this trip.

Great tour! Great tour guide! The tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. My family and I were looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint! Wear comfortable shoes, lots and lots of standing and walking. Wear comfortable clothes and take snacks. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide Chris was fantastic. Engaging, informative and enthusiastic. It’s a hard going tour but well worth it. Easy to get the ABC 24 hr train ticket (around €11.40). If you’re doing one tour then do this one.
