Must do to get a crash course of the history of the city of Berlin. Tourist guide Mike was very knowledgeable about the history and this tour will take you to sights that you will never know exist if doing tour of Berlin on your own.

My husband and I had a great time learning from Xavier. He did a brilliant job explaining the lead up to World War Two and how Berlin and its historic buildings played a part. It was great to also have the Cold War component as we knew very little about it. We would highly recommend this tour!

Our guide was Joseph who gave an excellent tour. His English is fluent ( mother tongue). He gave excellent and accurate descriptions of what he showed us and of the history of Berlin in general. He didn’t rush us at all. I would definitely recommend Joseph to anyone wanting to know about the 3rd Reich and the downfall of Berlin.

Xavier our guide was excellent. His knowledge was second to none and the whole group stayed engaged the whole time. It covers everything you would want to see and more. We overran but that was just extra value for money. Definitely worth allowing for it to do so.

This tour was absolutely excellent. Great start and finish locations with really easy transport links at both to get to anywhere you need in the city. I had Ru as a guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. I had an absolutely great time on this tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in the history of Berlin in the mid 20th century.

Lot of walking. Good for me but maybe not for people with mobility problems.

Our guide Stefan just kept talking and talking. There was a Political rally at Brandenberg gate and we got a 30 min lecture on current German politics. The focus shd hv been on showing is the sites and the history of the same but it was more about his views on history. Very boring and tedious. We finally left the tour and visited almost half the sites on our own.

On the day of your tour, there was a large demonstration taking place in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Several guests in the group asked what was happening, and our guide responded to those questions. That is part of what professional guides do: they explain the city as it is unfolding around the group, especially when a major public event is taking place at one of Berlin’s most important historic sites.
This was not a case of our guide promoting his personal political views. It was an explanation of what the protest was about, why it was taking place, and how it related to the city and the location you were visiting.
Berlin is a living capital city, and sometimes current events become part of the tour experience. Our guides are trained to provide context, answer questions, and help guests understand both the historical and contemporary significance of the places they are seeing.
We are sorry that this was not the experience you were looking for, but we stand by our guide’s decision to answer the group’s questions and provide relevant context at the Brandenburg Gate.
We are glad that you were at least able to visit the other sites on your own and continue exploring Berlin.

This was fantastic and informative tour talking about a difficult part of Germany's history. The tour guide Glen was amazing. He was a fellow scouser like me and had a wide array of local WW2 knowledge. He presented it eloquently and interspersed it with moments of levity but never went overboard due to the sensitive nature of the tour. A well deserved 5 stars.
