- The total tour length is 4 hours. All travel time is included in that length. We first drive for approximently 35 min to Goðafoss, then another 30 min from there to Laufas Turfhouse Museum, and from there another 30 min to the Christmas House. From the Christmas house we do a short sightseeing around Akureyri before dropping the passenger off.

A truly awesome tour! The combo tour interspersed with the guides Icelandic knowledge, folk stories of trolls and general cheerful chatterbox made for a wonderful half day tour!

We were unable to connect with the tour operator to confirm our pick up location. The tour operator asked for the name of our cruise ship and said they would pick up and drop us off at our ship. We waited in the parking lot as instructed and they never showed up. I had their phone number and tried calling and got no answer. We were informed that they had an office in the parking area next to ours and ran to that spot 5 minutes after our departure time and no one was there.

We did wait at your ship for almost 20 minutes, we were marked The Traveling Viking, we had a namesign with your name on it and no one there, We waited untill it was 5 min pass the departure time. At the parking lot were just our bus, 12 meter long and marked The Traveling Viking, in the windscreen was a copy of the same namelist and your name on it. In the bus was the guide waiting for you. We never found you but we didnt have trouble finding the other 46 passengers that were on the tour as well, from your ship and the other one. We did try to call you on the phone number you gave us, actually 6 times we called from 20 min before departure time untill 5 min pass departure time and no answer from you. We left harbour 11:07 after holding all the other passenger waiting for you. We double checked and drove also up to the tourist information at Hof and looked for you there.
We are sorry you missed your tour, but we did wait for you, we looked for you, we did try to call you.

A lovely excursion from Akuyeri, bus driver Jon was very informative with a good sense of humour. We enjoyed the Godafoss most and had a good time to enjoy it without being rushed. Christmas house not impressed but not bad to end the trip with.

Great tour. Gooafoss was Amazing and Laufas was very interesting. A way of living I have never seen. The Christmas house is what you would expect. A sales place to get your Christmas souvenirs.

Jon was an amazing and informative tour guide - loved his knowledge and stories. Overall fun trip, wished we had a bit more time at the Christmas House but Jon gave the allotted time given folks who returned late to the bus at the previous stop. My recommendation is that if someone is late, especially more than 10 minutes, leave them as to not impact the others on the trip!

We really enjoyed this half-day combo tour, which offered a great mix of nature, culture, and a bit of holiday fun. Goðafoss Waterfall was absolutely stunning, and Laufás was a fascinating stop—the traditional turf houses and museum gave a real insight into Icelandic history and rural life. The waterfall, Laufáskirkja, and Christmas house were all wonderful to visit. I wish we would have had a few more minutes to visit the waterfall. The guide was friendly and informative. We appreciated him taking us to the refuge in the tunnel. The guide at Laufas was wonderful and sweet.

- Our driver & tour guide, Jon, was amazing! Saw the beautiful falls, the Laura’s Thur Houses and Xmas Shop! There was an excellent description of the whole tour on a laminated paper in your bus seat - wish you could see it when you were thinking about booking it.

The scenery on the drive was beautiful. That is worth the price alone. Great historical information from our guide. The falls were beautiful but maybe a little more time could be spared to hike the other side of the falls and to get back in time to use the WC and browse the gift shop before you leave. Laufás was very interesting and the Christmas Shop very cute.

Jon was a great guide and we really enjoyed his narration! We had a one and a seven year old with us. This is the way to do it - smaller bus, quick driving, less time wasted on stops. They provided an infant car seat for us, but I put it in the notes when booking and called to confirm beforehand. Waterfall and the turf houses are really the essence of the tour. Christmas house is just a tourist trap and we could do without it. But really no complains - we had a coffee and ran around with the kids! Well done, Team Viking!

Our tour guide and driver Jon was amazing. He was punctual, informative and funny. We had such a great time learning about Iceland. This tour is a must. Waterfalls were great, and Christmas house was cute. The waffles were delicious.

Overall the tour was great. But we could have used more time at the Christmas store and Laufás. We suggest extending both by at least 15 minutes. Jon the driver and tour guide was excellent.

Wonderful day in Akeyuri. Graham, our tour guide and driver was amazing, especially with all the seniors who needed extra assistance. Godafoss was beautiful, Laufas was interesting and the Christmas House was OK, could've skipped that, in my opinion. We lucked out with incredible weather and couldn't have asked for a better day in Akeyuri.

Everything a tour should be. Lots of information from our guide about the area, life in the area, as well as history, geology, culture, etc. Absolutely fabulous way to see the area - far more than just the three stops.
The waterfall was spectacular and the highlight of the tour, and we had plenty of time to see it from all angles and walk around casually.
The Laufas visit was great. I could have spent lots more time there but it was probably enough for most.
The Christmas house was kitschy but we enjoy Christmas themed things and was a good place to get an ornament to remember the trip.
The one thing to know is we did not get back to the cruise port till 45 minutes later than planned (15 minutes before we had to be on our ship instead of an hour early) and there didn’t seem to be any concern for the intended time frame. That being said, we never felt rushed at any stop so that was the benefit on the other side of the coin!
Would recommend this tour and our tour guide Lillia to everyone!

The Christmas House is just a cute store selling Christmas items.
The small open air museum had two ladies in period costume.

Godard’s water fall is amazingly beautiful! Bring change with you if you want to use the bathroom here though.
Laufás (turf houses) was unique and very interesting. Make sure you go inside them to see how people lived in them. Clean FREE bathrooms here!
The Christmas House, for me, was a disappointment (we have better Christmas shops/displays in the U.S.). Over crowded. Way too many people to even enjoy looking at things. Mostly ornaments and candles for sale. Can only give it 4 out of 5 rating because of this, but would still recommend the tour based on the first 2 stops.
