Well-organized experience with enjoyable stops at turf homes, Godafoss Falls, and Forest Lagoon. Adequate time provided at each stop and good tour guide info along the way on a comfortable motor coach. Easily found from cruise ship port. Highly recommended if these are sights you're interested in.

We just experienced this tour. It was so fun to do with our kids (9 & 11). Fönn was a great guide and gave all kinds of fun tidbits about Aykeuri, Iceland in general, current and past culture. The waterfall was awesome, the Happy Marriage Cake delicious, the farm explanation hilarious, and the Forest Lagoon makes me want to go back! Would 100% recommend.

We enjoyed all of the stops on this tour. The museum was nice to see. The waterfall was beautiful. The highlight was the Forest Lagoon geothermal spa. We could have spent several more hours there.

Excellent tour of the waterfall, the turf homes and the spa. For us, it was just the right amount of time at each, well maybe a little longer at the turf homes would have been better. We had the option of being dropped off in the center of town, rather than at the boat, which saved us some walking. Highly recommended

Ronar, the guide, was great and very knowledgeable. Kass, the driver, drove very safely. Our visi was a day to remember!

Godafoss, Turf houses and Forest Lagoon

Pam_B, Sep 2025
This was a great tour. First we went to see turf houses, church, with cemetery, as well as beautiful Icelandic horses. The ride there was very scenic. Then we went to Godafoss Waterfall and it was majestic and showed off with a beautiful rainbow! The walk to the falls isn't too difficult. Then we went to Forest Lagoon for about 2 hours. This was a lovely site with beautiful view of Akureyri harbor/city. It was a perfect ending to the day and so restful and relaxing.

Quintissential Iceland

Tour guide was wonderful. Can’t recall her name but she was from Italy. We did the Godofoss Falls, geothermal lagoon, and a history museum. Loved them all.

Great Akureyri tour

tslandry, Aug 2025
Waterfall was amazing. Forest lagoon was very comfortable, not crowded, beautiful views. Surf houses were a very interesting tour.

Not long enough in the lagoon

yates11, Aug 2025
We had an hour at the turf house which was too long, and then only had 1hr25 at the Lagoon which included waiting for a wristband, waiting for a brief from the coach, getting changed before and after the swim which would have left 1hr or less to enjoy the lagoon. They should mention that there’s a free bus from the lagoon back to town every hour for those that want to actually enjoy the lagoon for longer than an hour. The lagoon itself is absolutely beautiful and it would be easy to spend 3-4 hours in there. They should make it clear that you’ll only have an hour or less to enjoy the lagoon.

3 great spots to visit...

Taylor_G, Aug 2025
3 great spots to visit and our tour guide was incredible. normally i book through the cruise line but i felt very reassured we’d be back to the ship on time and we were.

A great day out

Stephanie_O, Aug 2025
A great 5/6 hour trip for a short port stay on a cruise. The museum is small but amazing. Waterfall was impressive and Saga travel give you free coffee and a donut. Forest lagoon was lovely!

Great family friendly tour

Godafoss Falls are totally worth it!

Tammy_F, Aug 2025
Beautiful landscape, very nice bus and great tour guide from Spain. Loved seeing the waterfall. Our drop off point was nice and close and we even had time to shop a little and grab a drink and donut. Visiting the Turf house was unexpected and interesting. Forest lagoon is very nice. Can definitely get crowded as it is a fraction of the size of Blue Lagoon. You can see that they are expanding and that will probably help with the crowding. I would highly recommend this tour and a visit to beautiful Iceland. It is so unique!

Waterfall and Forest Lagoon

Emma_W, Jul 2025
Magnificent scenery, waterfalls, Turf houses and a fabulous trip to the Forest Lagoon, highly recommend. Great guide and the lagoon was fantastic, very clean and the water was great after a days sightseeing xx

A Perfect Excursion!!

townsendfamily, Jul 2025
Godafoss waterfall was breathtaking! We had plenty of time to view the waterfall and enjoyed a coffee/tea and Iceland donut afterwards. Also had time to shop in the nearby store for some gifts! We visited the Turf House which was so quaint! We loved the fact that 100% of the items we purchased there were made by those in the town and they kept 100% of the profits! Felt good to give back to such a nice community. The Forest Lagoon was the highlight! It was a little awkward showering before getting into the lagoon but the lagoon was beautiful and relaxing! Don't skip out on the Forest Lagoon frozen drink - it was soooo good! Absolutely no regrets on this excursion. Highly recommend!!

What a great day!! Guide...

David_C, Jul 2025
What a great day!! Guide was kind, Spoke clearly, was knowledgeable of the area. The driving skills were excellent! He took his time to connect with everyone and was personal. We have nothing bad to say! It was a great trip. OH - We were on a cruise and did this outside the cruise ship, They made sure to have us back well before the cruise departing time. We are totally sold on using Viator.

Great time! Amazing hot springs!

Brian_C, Jul 2025
Fantastic guides. Lots of local knowledge. Fund and entertaining tour. Fom our guide mixed lots of great facts and stories both personal and about Iceland. Loved the dip in the lagoon and the golden ticket for the coffee and donut at the godafoss hotel.

Wonderful day!

Jennifer_D, Jul 2025
We traveled here on a cruise ship and the excursion through the ship was fully sold out so we found this- and so glad we did because it was an amazing day! All five of us loved it and it was one of our favorite excursions! It helped that we had great weather too. Our guide was so knowledgeable and kind, and the day was organized well also. Great way to see some nice highlights from the area! He also told us to be sure we didn’t stop and went all the way on the trail because it was better- and I’m glad we did as we saw a beautiful rainbow and it was a less packed place and better photo spot!

Great tour but not for kids

Nicole_S, Jul 2025
The tour has three stops, which are all very interesting. The first is the waterfall which is truly breathtaking and included coffee, tea and a pastry. The second stop is a museum with an old house that gives you a view into Icelandic life long ago. The last stop is the Forrest Lagoon spa, which is really wonderful and we had two hours there. The problem was that the tour guide was speaking and giving us history on the bus, but there were numerous children who were being loud which prevented us from hearing our guide. I would put a note that recommended that this is not a great tour for children. I think they were board. Guides were good and the tour was well organized..

Mindblowing

Mark_F, Jul 2025
Beautiful and informative. Godafoss is a mind blowing experience and a perfect ending at Forest Lagoon. Michiel our guide was excellent.

Very nice experience.

JULISSA_D, Jul 2025
The thermal bath is very nice, don't forget your bathing suit. The places visit and the amazing landscape is awesome.

Amazing experience!

Martene_M, Jul 2025
We loved this excursion to Goddafoss waterfall and Forest Lagoon, which also included the turf house. Our guide and driver for the day was Thora, and she was wonderful! It was nice to have a small group rather than a big bus full of prople. We learned so much about Iceland from Thora durinf this tour. It's obvious she really cares about her guests visiting Iceland and wants them to have a great experience. We loved every part of this tour. The turf house was so interesting - I wish I would have had the booklet they give you in advance so I could read it on the way there. There was just not quite enough time to read everything and see everything, and to visit the little authentic gift shop, before we had to leave! But we had to get to the waterfall, which was absolutely beautiful. We were treated with a coffee and a snack afterwards, which was wonderful. Then on to Forest Lagoon, which was also great. We had plenty of time there, and it's a beautiful, relaxing experience. This place is top notch - so well maintained and runs so smoothly. No problem with bugs either. Overall a really great day. Saga Travel is a great company to do a tour through. I loved how organized they were and how easy it was to find them when exiting the ship. Thanks again Thora!

Great tour for cruise ship stop.

Patricia_R, Jul 2025
It was a great tour. The falls are beautiful. Loved the farm stop with the authentic Icelandic turf house. Forest spas were a nice end of the day. Perfect amount of time. Easy to get to from cruise ship and on time to return.

Best small group tour!

Lynn_M, Jul 2025
Knowledgeable, informative tour guide. Julie arrived at the port early, and showed us a lovely day. The Forest Lagoon was very nice, fun that you could relax with a drink while soaking! The museum of the old turf house was interesting, and the falls were very pretty. Luckily we had a beautiful day, and best of all, our small tour was just my husband and me!

Great excursión, 3 stops...

Julian_L, Jul 2025
Great excursión, 3 stops including the forest lagoon, It was my first time in Iceland and this was the best option.

Best trip in Iceland

Elaine_G, Jul 2025
What a great trip this was, we were so pleased that we went on it. Belen was a super guide, she was really interesting without overwhelming us with lots of facts and figures. We felt that the perfect amount of time was spent at each attraction. The Saga Travel hut was just outside the cruise terminal and we were then escorted to our vehicle which was just a minute or two walk away. There were 6 of us in total on this trip and we were given bottled water for the journey. We first went to the traditional turf houses and church then onto the waterfall (which was spectacular) and then we had a couple of hours at the lagoon. We were very lucky with the weather which was 17 degrees and a blue sky, sunny day. This has been my most enjoyable trip so far in Iceland. Not too much travelling but lots to see and with a great guide.

Forest Lagoon

Jacqueline_B, Jul 2025
Absolutely fantastic guide, brilliant day. We loved seeing the waterfall and the turf house and listening to the local traditions from the tour guide. The Forest lagoon was amazing. Well organised trip.

First experience of Iceland

John_B, Jul 2025
Excellent tour included visit to turf house, waterfall and swim in forest lagoon. Our guide Fun (Fonne?) balanced information with entertaining stories. Just enough time was spent at each location. Lagoon was busy as there was 4 ships in town, but managed to enjoy the waters with a beer.

Great experience

Barbara_S, Jul 2025
You will get to beautiful countryside going to the sod farmhouse and beautiful waterfall. Clean bathrooms at stops. Nice traditional donut and coffee included. The thermal spa was a nice way to end the day. The guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand.

Spectacular day!

Janet_B, Jul 2025
