My adult family of 4 booked this about a week before our excursion date. All 4 of us were overwhelmed with, not just the beauty of Northern Iceland, but the excursion itself! Johanna was full of energy, informative and safe. The 19-person van felt like it was like-new. HIGHLY recommend by all 4 of us!

Our cruise ship was delayed a day, but Fox Adventure was able to reschedule and contacted everyone with the new info. Our guide, Johanna, picked us up at the pier, and we enjoyed a beautiful day at Godafoss waterfall, Myvatn Lake and nearby craters, Dimmuborgir lava formations, Grjotagja cave and tectonic plates, Gjaldskylda geothermal area, and finally...some relaxation time in the thermal baths. Johanna was friendly and informative, and was more than happy to answer questions and take pictures for people. A truly enjoyable day!

Great day. Well organised and got away early before the crowds. Lots of information was given during the day. Easy to find at cruise port.

Some parts felt rushed, whereas other parts were slower paced and relaxing. We did the same tour a couple of years ago, and it didn't feel that way. Of course, our ship was in port for 12 hours then, and only 10 hours now. I'd do it if your ship is in port for 11 or more hours.

Cancelled 24 hrs before, OK for tour company to cancel but if it’s the other way around you pay!
I have booked through Viatour many times for several other trips… This trip there has been issues with every booking…4 of them! Maybe it’s Iceland?

Your review is not at all fair. Firstly, we are not part of the Viator group. Viator acts as an intermediary between you and the operator (similar to the way that booking.com works for hotels), and we are not aware of any other tours you may have booked with other companies, as we are only the Akureyri-based operator. We offered you two fantastic options: specifically, the Diamond Circle tour, which is the most interesting and beautiful tour in the north, and which includes a great guide. The cost of this tour was more than twice the price of your reservation (which included everything you booked and much more). You agreed to this upgrade. All arrangements had been made, and in the morning you did not join the tour with our guide, who was waiting for you at the port. We regret to inform you that your review is not understandable.
We are a small company based in the north of the country. We always try to give more than others and we are sorry that you judged us that way.

Great excursion. Enjoyed the Fox Adventure tour guide. Very personable friendly and knowledgeable. Van transportation was clean and comfortable. Did a lot of touring then a myvatn baths relaxation at end of tour was perfect way to end the tour.

Great tour with an opportunity to see and experience so many things! Each stop was beautiful and unique, so make sure you have plenty of room on your camera! If you can, make sure you experience the baths!!

First, the sites we saw were great, and the hot springs were nice. Things happen - it's often when, not if, something will go wrong. How someone responds to the problem speaks more to me than whether something went wrong or not. On this adventure, our mini-bus broke down. They jumped into gear and came up with a plan. We got to see all the sites we were supposed to, they just switched up the order so they had time to work out the details of getting a new vehicle to us. Another vehicle from their group came and took us to the hot springs, and they used the time we were there to figure out transportation for the rest of the day. We saw everything we were supposed to and were not late returning to the cruise ship. We enjoyed the trip.

Was meet at dockside by the tour guide who introduced herself as Joanne. From that moment on she did an amazing job of taking us round the tour from site to site and giving us appropriate information on each location in an excellent manner and helping to the point in walking round all the locations on tour, taking picture , and answering question. All the tour locations were great and was a fantastic day out for us and definitely made better by the expertise and efforts that were made by Joanne. A well recommended tour with a perfect guide

This is the must do tour in Akureyie. So much in one day. Waterfalls, caves, lava formations, and baths. Our tour guide was amazing. She provided all relevant information about the surrounding area and also gave us insight into what life is like living in this country. Additionally, kudos to the tour company. Our van had a mechanical issue but within 10 minutes we had another van pick us up and we could tinted on our tour without missing anything. This is a top notch company!

OMG had the best time ever, so beautiful, the guide Johanna was incredible, she really went out of her way to do as many extra stops and help takes photos, and the people that didn’t want to pay the huge extra price to go swim into the baths, you could have lunch, take photo in front of the baths and then she took us to some beautiful snowy mountains and a the powerstation which explains everything about the craters etc.
Only thing is the first few stops has lots of flys, so wear a net or have some bug spray, but didn’t bother us, just a FYI.

This is a MUST do. If you are visiting on a cruise ship, skip the big bus tours and do this instead! It is worth every penny! Our guide Leo was amazing. He showed us all the sites, gave us insight to the area and kept us away from The masses. The pace was perfect
And the small group size was great. The van was comfortable and clean! TEN stars ✨. Thank you for an incredible day.

The Godafoss waterfalls were jaw-droppingly beautiful! Johanna got us there very quickly before the big tour buses arrived! She spent time with the whole group explaining things and making sure nobody was left behind. She took pictures of us with our cameras/phones everywhere we went. She knew just the right shot to get!
She led us on a hike through the Dimmuborgir lava fields and pointed out the various formations. She was very patient with those of us that didn’t walk quite as fast as others. She was always there to help.
We then went to the tectonic plates where we could have one foot planted in Europe and the other planted in North America.
We went to the Baths at Lake Myvatn. The baths felt so good after the hiking we had done!
The Namafjall Hverir mud pots were very intriguing. The sulphur smell was very strong but still well with the trip.
Johanna took the people in the group that didn’t want to go into the Baths to Hverfjall Crater and a geothermal power plant.
Johanna was an EXCELLENT tour guide!

We had a small group tour and it was a perfect day. Our driver got us out and ahead of all the big buses. She made sure to give us the time we needed for pictures and even helped take some pictures. This was a perfect day and a great tour of the Godafoss Falls, the tectonic plates, and so much more. This is a perfect day trip that should not be missed.

Jowi was incredible! She was not only beautiful but she was very knowledgeable. She packed in a lot of beautiful & interesting sights in Akureyri. We were able to relax & enjoy the baths at the end of the tour.

Fantastic trip with Joanna, who was so informative. Saw so many fantastic things, especially the Godafoss waterfall, underground lake and standing across the tectonic plates. The highlight was bathing in the Myvatn geothermal pools. Great trip when you only have a limited amount of time.

We really enjoyed our guide, Joanna, and the van was lovely. We also enjoyed experiencing the multitude of different environments this part of Iceland had to offer. I truly feel like you couldn’t ask for a more thorough tour. One little bit of advice - when your guide tells you the flies will be bad at the lake - believe them! It was really unbelievably bad and we were told it just gets worse as the summer goes on. If offered fly nets/protection - take it! The guides aren’t exaggerating!

We understand that the flies at Lake Myvatn can be a source of frustration, but unfortunately we have no control over their presence. The environment there requires them. However, you can purchase fly nets from our guides at a significantly lower price than in local shops.

Incredible sights of both sides of the Geiranger Valley.
I had no idea we’d be so high. The snow was beautiful.
There was plenty of time for spectacular stops.
The guides of both coaches were so friendly and offered to take photos at some of the amazing stops.
