The waterfall is amazing! Don’t miss it. Wear your net hat though. You will have to pay to use the toilet in the souvenir shop.
The nature baths: you have to experience this! Your skin will feel so smooth. Our tour guide Ivy was amazing. She went the extra mile to call and get an answer from her grandfather for a question someone had.

There were a LOT of bugs on this trip - bring your bug net!
The guide was fantastic and had a lot of really unique Icelandic knowledge.
Lots of driving and a bit of communication challenges amongst passengers slowed things down a bit
All in all a very delightful day!

We had a great time on this tour. Our female guide was American (I’m sorry but I cannot remember her name) and she was a wealth of info as we drove through the beautiful country. We had just the right amount of time at each stop. The Baths was the highlight and 2 hours was perfect.
Tanya_L, Aug 2026
The waterfall was breathtaking and absolutely worth it. The lake stop was short and not really necessary, bring a big net for your head if you go. The baths were wonderful, relaxing and a must do Iceland event.

Overall, this was a good experience. There was a little confusion because there were two tours on the same bus. When they dropped us off at the Lagoon, they took another group to lava fields.
The time at the waterfalls was good. Could have used slightly more time, but not bad at all. The time at the lagoon was maybe a little more than we needed (2 hours). The stop at the lake was very quick! We barely had time to get ice cream, much less see the lake.
The guide highly recommended the ice cream, and it was good, but not amazing.
Bring bug nets for your face for the lake for sure!

The tour provider combined 2 different tour groups together which I felt was confusing as we were never quite sure of the order of things. Loves all of the places we saw especially the spa. Probably my biggest complaint was the lack of understanding on our the spa process and procedures. You should definitely bring your own towel as even if they rent them we were never explained that process and we didn’t bring a towel and I ended up have to use one of my shirts as my towel upon getting out of the water.

Why a 2 star rating. We were packed like sardines on a bus with 50 others. First stop to the waterfalls was a 45 minute ride, waterfall was beautiful and we were given a specific time to return to the bus. This was the down hill of the tour, a group was 20 minutes late as they were shopping for souvenirs. The bus was a combo of tours, we dropped off half of the bus to the lava fields and then we were taken to the natural spa. The spa was just “Ok”. There are no private changing rooms, but the showers were private. Remember to bring a towel or you can rent one. We were at the spa for 2 hours and then the bus picked us up. We were given lunch to eat on the moving bus (choice of a pre packaged sandwich and bottle of water) after the spa. Next stop was the lake but we did not get off the bus as there were too many flys. We were scheduled to return to the port at 4 pm but arrived at 5 pm due to delays in people returning to the bus on time.
There were guest from another cruise ship with a departure scheduled at 5:30, they were stressing they would not get back in time. I would suggest if you are only interested in a natural geothermal lagoon experience, Forest Lagoon offered free transportation from the cruise terminal and would be a better option.

Wonderful tour and great service with pick up and drop off from the cruise terminal. I recommend this tour.

The guide gave good information as we traveled from place to place. The locations such as the lake and waterfall were beautiful, along with the drive! The baths were amazing.

This was an awesome experience! Highly recommend. Our tour guide Nico was extremely knowledgable and shared her own personal experiences that led her to becoming a tour guide. The driver, Lucash was amazing and kept us on time and safe.
Linda_W, Aug 2025
Nicole was a great guide, very knowledgeable and fun. Loved the Godafoss Waterfall. Myvatn Nature Baths were interesting and the only reason I gave 4 stars was because they were a little disappointing. Lots of construction around the pool so you didn’t get the feeling I expected.
Martha_R, Aug 2025
The Falls and the Hot Springs were fabulous! Our guide Nika a woman from Spain did a fabulous job also and our driver was very skilled. The chicken sandwich I did not enjoy!
Shannon_T, Aug 2025
Great tour! Needed another 45 min at Godafoss Waterfall but plenty of time at the Myvatn Baths. Niko was excellent and the chicken sandwich was delicious. Fun day.
Mark_D, Aug 2025
The baths were amazing. The bus driver and tour guide were also very helpful and great at providing info on the area. All in all a great experience! Thank you!
Patricia_G, Aug 2025
The Nature Bath was beautiful but the place where you change well I am not one to take my clothes off in front of alot of people and walk around naked but there are no stalls to change so if your not comfortable with this do not take this tour
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Patricia_G,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.
We are delighted to hear that you found the lagoon itself beautiful and enjoyable.
Regarding the changing facilities, we are truly sorry if this part of the experience felt uncomfortable. Please rest assured that each changing room does include two private showers, and we apologize if this may not have been clear or easily noticed during your visit.
We sincerely hope that, despite this, the experience left you with lasting memories of the beauty of North Iceland.
If you would like to share more about your visit, we would be glad to hear from you at info@bustravel.is.
Kind regards,
Andreea

Petra our guide was outstanding. The canyon was not impressive. The baths were a good experience. Heavy on the sulphur side.
Timothy_C, Aug 2025
Fantastic experience seen some amazing sites. The baths were a great experience as well. Tour guides was so nice and gave some great information. She even played some Fantastic music on our way back. Would recommend to anyone coming to akureyri.
Alan_S, Aug 2025
Overall a good excursion. Lunch stop was rushed. More time to shop at waterfall would be better. Nicole was a very excited guide!
Robert_L, Aug 2025
Tour is just ok. The guide was good and informative but the experience is too expensive for what you get.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Dear Robert_L,
Thank you for your feedback!
We are really glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience overall and that the guide made a positive impression with their knowledge and insights.
Regarding the price, both the cost and the detailed itinerary are available at the time of booking, and we trust that each guest is best placed to decide whether a tour fits their personal expectations and travel priorities.
We do understand, however, that value can feel different for everyone depending on individual expectations, travel style, and budget.
We would also like to mention that, as a tour operator based in Reykjavík, our prices remain competitive when compared to other local providers offering similar experiences.
We hope the memories made during the tour still added something special to your time in Iceland!
Kind regards,
Andreea

The tour guide was excellent. We would appreciate about 15 more minutes at the falls. The bath choice was good, we enjoyed it immensely. We were delayed because a mother/daughter did not get back to the bus promptly.
Jill_O, Aug 2025
Vic is great, I learned a lot about Iceland from the local perspective and I loved her personality and youth. Our bus was like new and very high end with large windows, plenty of overhead space, bathroom, etc. I liked the schedule (not too long): see the waterfall, two hours at the bath then a quick stop at Lake Myvatn. There were 3 ships at Akureyri on the day we visited, so you never break away from all the people, but we still loved the experience. They give you the sandwich and bottle of water after the bath and before Lake Myvatn, if you read previous reviews and wondered. Also, there is a cute cafe at the baths if you finish early and want something more, but we spent the entire two hours soaking.
Michael_M, Aug 2025
Very comfortable bus, very affable tour guide, great sights throughout the entire trip, including an unforgettable experience at the nature baths. If I had anything to criticize it would be the sandwich they provided for lunch (where was the chicken?), but even that wasn't bad. Would definitely do this tour again.
MJ_D, Jul 2025
It’s a full day tour. The vistas were all beautiful and provide a good sampling of this areas geography. Lunch arrives after the swim.
Donna_G, Jul 2025
Never got the opportunity to join the tour. Got off the NCL Star on 7/27. Read the pick-up directions multiple times. Waited in the NCL bus parking lot from 12:30- 1pm. Was then informed there was a second bus lot down the street/one block over where the other cruise ship was parked. Walked as fast as possible to see the bus with company logo driving by. I waved, but the driver did not stop. I then contacted the company/tour operator to be told they tried to call me with no response. At 1:15pm, they called the driver who reportedly said they were to far as they needed to stick to a schedule. I could still see the bus at the next traffic light a block away. Tour company says, it’s my own fault for missing the tour as others getting off the same ship were able to figure it out, so therefore - not refund of $269.00.
Request of tour operators - PLEASE be very specific in your port pick-up directions. Maybe if you could add that participants need to walk over to the second larger lot where the brown wooden huts are would help or have a person with a sign from your company in front of NCL parking gates telling folks where to go!!!!
Interestedly enough, I just hung around the port and the same exact tour was advertised for $125.00.

Dear Donna_G,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
We are genuinely sorry that your experience with us wasn’t as smooth as you had hoped.
We completely understand how disappointing it must have felt to miss the tour. However, the departure was scheduled for 13:00, at which time our team made several attempts to reach you.
While we always try to wait when possible, unfortunately we cannot always make exceptions, especially since this tour involves a third-party product booked for a specific timeslot that must be respected.
We also need to ensure the tour stays on schedule out of fairness to fellow travelers, many of whom may have other plans arranged later in the day.
Regarding the meeting point, we would like to note that the information is provided both on the website and on the electronic voucher, including a written description as well as a Google Maps link.
Reviewing these details in advance is the best way to ensure a timely and smooth start to the tour.
We truly hope that, despite this situation, your time in Iceland brought you enjoyable moments.
If you’d like to discuss this further, we would warmly welcome you to reach out to us at info@bustravel.is.
Kind regards,
Andreea

Bring your bathing suit and your own towel or you will have to rent a suit. The landscape was beautiful and the tour guide Niko and driver Paco were very informative and accommodating. We enjoyed this tour very much.
Marco_M, Jul 2025
The tour was fantastic. Very scenic drive to Goðafass and Mývatn. The the waterfall was impressive. The hot bath was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Alan_C, Jul 2025
The overall tour did what it was supposed to do but I think it was poor value, even for Iceland. There was a reasonably length stop at Godafoss but the baths stop could have been a bit longer. The bath stop length was slightly shorter than detailed (baths were more like 1 hour and 53 minutes and not two hours). Perhaps you can put that down to rounding…
The main organisational failure was for lunch. Lunch was a basic sandwich and a bottle of water. We were given these just before going into the baths which was terrible timing. I had planned to eat after the baths but the staff at the baths were furious about the fact we all had a sandwich - they want you to buy food there, you see - and wouldn’t even let us take them in our bags to lock away for later after we had left. We then went outside to eat them, understandably management of the baths didn’t want us eating them inside their premises. However, eating outside on a pavement in the car park out of everyone’s way was not enough for them. The staff chased us out into the road to eat! Luckily that wasn’t representative of the rest of Icelandic hospitality we saw.
This reflects badly on a pricey bathing venue but the tour organiser must know this is a problem and put everyone in that position which wasted time at the baths and was quite unpleasant.
Poor value overall given the significant price.

Great scenery on the drives. Our guide Victoria, was fantastic as was our driver.
The baths do smell of sulfur but you stop noticing after about 5 minutes
Barbara_B, Jul 2025
Bring a towel
Meet at the bus not by the huts
It was a great excursion. Saw the waterfall, Lake Mvatan and went to the baths! 2 hours was the perfect amount of time for the baths.
We did not get lunch but we didn’t mind, we have been sating too much on the ship
Eric_D, Jul 2025
Always on time, the tour was good as far as what we saw… the only issue was with the lunch provided, which included just one option, and we were not able to eat the sandwiches at the thermal baths, we were told that we needed to eat at the parking lot…. I suggest in the future to provide a voucher from the cafeteria at the baths, this way we would be allowed to eat our lunch inside
Michael_P, Jul 2025
This tour was a mess. We were held 15 minutes past the start time to fill the bus, cutting our time at the waterfall to under 40 minutes. The guide parked far from the falls, with no access to river level. The bus driver didn’t know how to turn on the A/C, and when we complained, we got an excuse about Icelanders not being used to heat—though it eventually came on. At the baths, we found out the company had booked the wrong time, and we’d have to wait an hour, which would’ve made us late for our ship’s 3:30 all-aboard. The tour director argued and told us to stay from 1:30 to 3, despite the travel time. We skipped the baths—the main reason we booked the tour. This was advertised as a six-hour excursion, but the highlight was missed. I don’t think I should have to pay for this.
