Top Akureyri Whale Watching

Wonderful experience. The staff were very nice helping us dress for the trip. We were lucky to see a Humpback whale. The crew tried hard to make sure we all able to witness the whales appearance. We felt safe and had fun with this RIB boat tour. Highly recommended.

Best tour ever! We got so lucky to see a pod of pilot whales (there had to have been 20 or more) and saw 3 different humpback whales. One of the whales swam right up to our boat, which was crazy! Our guide Alessandra and our captain Danny were both extremely knowledgeable and wonderful to spend the tour with. Alessandra was able to give us tons of info about the different whales we saw. Danny was an expert at navigating the waves to make our Zodiac boat ride as smooth as possible. Overall, we were thrilled with our experience and feel so grateful to have seen so many whales! I have to also express how much I appreciated the respect our guide and captain had for the whales. They got us respectfully close to the whales and then turned off the engine of the boat and let the whales choose their path. I am a huge advocate for respecting nature and I really appreciated that they took that aspect of their job so seriously. Thank you so much for one of the best days of my life!

It was a great experience, although we only saw the whales from quite far. There was another boat of the same company that departed at the same time as the one I was in, and everyone on board had the impression that the other boat was going much closer to where the whales were. I guess it depends on the captain. It’s a very well organized and safe tour.
