Mark was absolutely incredible with stories that were vivid and full of detail. Oh yes, he was great with safety instruction as well. The river was beyond beautiful. The DRY SUITS are a must and made the trip quite enjoyable. The food was next level fabulous. Waffle dessert of death on calories mid canyon followed by a classic, delectable lamb lunch at the end. Could not have asked for a better day adventure.

Definitely got the adrenaline flowing in the rapids portions of the river. During the semi serene areas we really enjoyed the beauty of the canyon. I’ve rafted on quite a few rivers and this was by far my favorite.

EPIC rafting adventure and MUST DO in Iceland! We've gone on many Viator trips in Iceland and this was far and away the best. They provided dry suits so we weren't cold at all on the East Glacier river. Each guide is extremely cool and funny, and the rapids are up to class IV. The basalt canyon is stunning.

Amazing experience. The river is serious water and stunningly beautiful, and Hunter is a world class guide. Be prepared to spend time in the water (for which Viking fully equips you). Wouldn’t miss this if you’re in Iceland (and reasonably fit).

This was the highlight of my Iceland trip. Very professional organization by a small company dedicated to white water rafting. Very experienced guides (the lead guide Mark has been doing trips on the same river since 2007) who intimately know the rafts as well as every rapid on the way. There were many type 2 and 3 rapids, one 4+. Enough fun for the whole duration of 3 hours on the water. The guides are also happy to have some controlled action e.g. by having the team deliberately paddle upstream into a rapid. If you want to have an "out of boat experience" you will get it. Will be more fun if you're moderately fit.
Definitely recommend to everyone looking to have some fun on a river. Would give extra points for the witty humor, but we're only allowed to give 5/5 here.

The team; Hunter, Benjy, Tarzan, Pablo, Dennis… all made the experience extra fun and made us feel safe the whole time. Never a dull moment. Beautiful scenery. Staying Warm and dry in the dry suit was huge!

The guides (Amun, Tarzan, Ryan, and Suman) were fantastic, kept us laughing the whole time, river was a great time to raft, we had a family of 9, only a few had rafted before. Extra shoutout for another guide, he brought a jacket we had left there clear to Akureyri for us, saved a brother some pretty cold adventuring in the future. Thank you all so much, we had the best time!!

What a wonderful adventure. All four employees (guide, 2 recovery kayak and cameraman/recovery kayak) were enthusiastic, fun and very good at their jobs. We had beautiful weather. The level IV rapids were both challenging and exhilarating and the same time. We had a garage sale on the most difficult part of the rapids but we enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely recommend this trip for anyone looking for a challenge.

These guys are awesome! They had plenty of experience behind them and, for all the fun and joking around, never made you feel as if things were out of control. The dry suits were a godsend and made a wild ride on a cold river a very fun experience. Do the rapids with them ... you won't regret it!

Anup and his crew were fantastic. From top to bottom this is a life experience that everyone should have. Class IV and V white water rafting was 10x better than the one I did in Peru last year. This crew is fun, professional and educational. They stress safety throughout the process and were there each step of the way. Best hot chocolate and cream I have ever had! Cream sourced from a farm just up the road. We really battle some tough waves, cliff jump 15ft was fun and the surfing was phenomenal. Cant wait to check out the go pro footage...Anup lead even took control and took footage for us when the go pro snapped off my helmet gnarly fall. Lunch there was delicious and the overall vibe was chill. 10 out of 10, best action adventure I have booked on Viator.
